This was my first read of the Dune universe and likely I should have started from the beginning. However each of these stores were entertaining and enjoyable. For a diehard Dune reader, I can tell this is a must-read and something they would love. As a new reader, it was a glimpse into a new world that I would like to explore further.

Sands of Dune is a collection of four novella’s taking place in different events throughout the Dune universe. All four are excellent reads with a lot of insight of the events that took place.
We get to see different events with Shadout Mapes, The Sardaukar, Gurney Halleck, and the Atreides family. If you are a big Dune fan you will love this. Although, if you are not familiar with at least the first book, you might be lost. I found myself absolutely intrigued with the first story “edge of a crysknife.” Mapes turns out to be a very interesting character and I didn’t want it to end.
Thank you Tor and NetGalley for this, I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to get my physical copy.
