I read this first book in this series and I enjoyed this second one. I really like the small town setting and the cheese shop. I love all the descriptions of all the cheeses. In this one Willa is planning a book signing for Vegan chef Phoebe Winston. When she is murdered and Archie is the prime suspect she sets out to solve the crime. I really like a lot of the secondary characters. The mystery was good and there were a lot of suspects. I was able to figure out the who did it at the end. I am not a fan of the will they or won't they romance. I hope it gets resolved in the next book. Enjoy

I really enjoyed this book. This is the first cheese shop book that I have read and it won't be the last. I plan on reading them all. I enjoyed getting to know Willa and the rest of the characters.

She was to host a book signing event in her shop. Things didn't quite work out the way they were planned and her cook/author was murdered before the event.

Now Will and her employees are trying to solve the mystery.

My favorite part about Gone for Gouda is the recipes. I appreciate the nod to making them vegan-friendly.

Our amateur sleuth is not the smartest sleuth in the world. I know, I know... I'm not the smartest sleuth either (I never guess whodunnit), but I guess in this instance, I wanted her to be smarter than me! :D

Love the October vibes and setting. As cozy mysteries go, this one was just fine.

When a supposed vegan influencer comes to set up her event at Willa's cheese shop, her demands and obnoxious behavior make Willa wonder how this event will come off. Her fears become real when pictures surface of the vegan eating barbecue. Mystery moves along quickly with interesting characters.

For me, this second in the series was stronger than the first. I loved the Halloween/fall setting, and the continued growth of the characters and their friendship. Also all the talk of cheese!

"My list of things still to do was as long as a CVS receipt."

Yarrow Glen is the coziest California town, unless you're being murdered I suppose. Willa has scored a chance to host vegan celebrity, Phoebe Winston in her cheese shop. Phoebe is one of those characters that rubs you the wrong way buuuuuuut did she really deserve to be caught on camera with meat in her mouth??? Ehhh the jury is out. Archie, Willa's employee, is enthralled with Phoebe and quite possibly the last person to see her alive. Dun, dun, dun!!! Willa must prove Archie is innocent before it's too late....and before she becomes Danby on arrival.

Ok, I'll work more on my cheese puns but for now, another winner in the Cheese Shop Mystery series!

I read the 2nd book in the Cheese Shop Mysteries, Gone for Gouda! I’m absolutely loving this series and I think Willa has my dream job: cheese shop owner and part time detective!

In Gone for Gouda, Willa has a celebrity vegan chef and influencer, Phoebe Winston come to speak at her shop. Willa was kind enough to learn to make some vegan cheese and recipes for her guest’s presentation. But drama strikes when Phoebe is caught eating ribs and the photos go viral! Very soon after, Phoebe is found murdered and the last person to see her was Willa’s employee, Archie.

Willa, her employees, and the other local business owners help figure out who is behind Phoebe’s murder. I really love this small town and all its characters. It’s like the cast of Gilmore Girls started solving crimes (I would 1000% watch that!)

Thank you so much to @stmartinspress and @korinamossauthor for my gifted ebook. Gone for Gouda is out now and check out the 3rd book, Curds of Prey!

Gone for Gouda is the second volume in Korina Moss’ Cheese Shop Mystery series. Protagonist Willa Bauer is excited that her Cheese Shop, Curds & Whey, will be hosting Phoebe Winston, a famous vegan chef and influencer. Not because Willa was a huge fan but because she hoped Phoebe’s influence would help put her cheese shop on the map. But alas, things go awry. First, it’s revealed that Phoebe is not vegan at all. Then, Phoebe is murdered, and Willa’s young assistant, Archie, is the prime suspect. It’s up to Willa to save her employee and her shop.

Looking forward to the next one!

I received this Advanced Reader Copy of Gone for Gouda from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Gone For Gouda by Korina Moss

Things are going from Gouda too bad to ugly for cheesemonger, Willa Bauer, in this novel. Willa has to find out who murdered a celebrity that was going to do a promotion in here shop. Her 19 year olds worker is a suspect.

I enjoyed this book. It’s had good characters, mostly friendly. Well-written. Many twists and turns. Kept you guessing as to whom the murderer was.

Thanks to Net Galley for sending me an advanced reader’s copy for my review.

This was so much fun. I love a good cozy mystery, but some can be pretty cheesy (see what I did there) but not this one. It was only cheesy where it counts (wink, wink). These are the kinds of books you sit down with a hot chocolate at night when the kids go to bed or in the morning on the patio with your coffee, Something to not have to try to hard to follow, but is fast-paced and fun. I love the fact that a vegan influencer is the victim. It gives it a fun nod to the ridiculousness of the social media scene and culture these days. Korina Moss is now on my radar for cozy mysteries when I am in the mood!

I have been provided with a review copy of Gone for Gouda from NetGalley for an impartial review. Oh my gosh this story was just epic. I just couldn’t put this story down and I was just captivated by everything that was taking place. The author truly outdid herself with this story. This story just had my emotions all over the place and I am so sad to see this book end. I just can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

Very entertaining who dun it, with lots of suspects and red herrings. I really enjoyed this second in a series cozy mystery, set in a small California town and revolving around a cheese shop. I look forward to reading more in this series!

In Gone for Gouda we revisit Willa Bauer and her friends in Sonoma. She is hosting a stop for famous influencer and chef, Phoebe Winston, who is touring to promote her new vegan cookbook. Willa is sure to meet many new customers who will come to see Phoebe. Unfortunately the author is arrogant, demanding, and hiding some big things. This won't be an easy event, but Willa is excited nonetheless. Unfortunately, as usually happens in cozy mysteries, the guest of honor is murdered and now Willa is wrapped up in the investigation because her employee and friend, Archie, is the main suspect!

I read the first book a few days ago, and while I enjoyed it, I was hopeful that I would like later installments more because I would have more time to connect to the characters. Luckily, that happened. The supporting cast are almost always my favorite characters in cozies, and all of them got more page-time in this book, which made me very happy.

Thank you @stmartinspress and @netgalley for the #gifted copy of the book. My review is my honest opinion.

Curds and Whey is the newest shop in Yarrow Glen. Cheese is the meaning of life for owner Willa Bauer. Business is picking up, her employees are the best ever, and there’s a spark of romance in her life. If only she can stop finding dead bodies, everything would be just about perfect.

For the moment, her life is taken up with preparations for the arrival of vegan influencer, Phoebe Winston. She is high maintenance plus. Although Willa received six recipes for Phoebe’s demo and bought the ingredients, Phoebe announces those were just suggestions. She’ll send over the final list—and the event is tomorrow. She’s also unhappy with the seating arrangements and how her fans will be unable to see every move she makes. In other words, scrap all the prep and start over at added expense and time involved. The tickets have been sold, so Willa complies. Phoebe also manages to abscond with Willa’s employee, Archie.

The next day, final preparations are underway when a crowd of women approach the register. Willa assumes they are after last minute tickets but is floored to find out, they all want refunds. It seems, Phoebe’s photos are front page news—she’s eating Mac’s Big Mouth BBQ!

When Phoebe is found dead in her bathtub, the police have a list of suspects to choose from. Phoebe treated everyone badly but in the end, Archie was the last to see her alive, as documented by the security camera at the gate. Willa can’t let Archie be arrested, so she investigates a bit on her own.

With ticket money to refund, chairs to send back, boxes of Phoebe’s cookbooks to deal with, vandalism through the town, a spark of interest besides her maybe-boyfriend, and defending Archie, Willa’s popping cheese like valium to calm her nerves.

This is the second book in the series. Cheddar Off Dead was reviewed here. I enjoyed both books and look forward to more. Be prepared, have cheese on hand while you read.

Recipes include: Bavarian beer cheese (obatzda, a spreadable cheese dip), cheesy apple pockets made with puff pastry, and jalapeño popper grilled cheese (vegetarian which can also be made vegan) plus description of cheeses throughout the book.

This was a fun cozy. Willa owns a cheese shop and is doing everything she can to make a go of it. The town is having a festival and she is busy working on a float. She is also hosting a vegan chef named Phoebe Winston. Phoebe is an "influencer" and is full of herself. She doesn't give Willa the recipes she is going to make (so Willa has to guess) AND she decides she wants to "use" one of Willa's employees (Archie) instead of her own assistant. When Phoebe is found murdered, Archie becomes the number one suspect. Who sent the mysterious photos and show Phoebe eating BBQ, that's right non-vegan BBQ. Who would want her dead. Willa knows it wasn't Archie, even if it appears he was the last one to see Phoebe alive. Willa sets out to help the police and make sure the true culprit it caught!

This was easy-to-read. The characters are fun and quirky.

I enjoyed reading this book about Willa who owns a cheese shop Curds & Whey. She is excited to host a book signing at her shop and is preparing a float for the town parade. When the celebrity Vegan Chef arrives at her shop she makes changes to her menu which involves more expenses that Willa has to dish out. Then calamity strikes before she can even have the book signing the Celebrity Chef is ousted as not being vegan and then Murdered and her assistant at the shop is accused of the Murder since he was the last person that was with her. The twists and turns had me guessing at who the murderer was. I was really surprised at the conclusion and would recommend reading this exciting book by Korina Moss.

I am loving this series! The characters, the authenticity, and the slight hint of romance which is starting to get interesting. I am loving the heroine, Willa, who is an ordinary woman with an insatiable curiosity and is loyal to her friends.

Such a cute little cozy mystery, the MC was just perfect for the role! Korina Moss does a fantastic job of creating the cozy vibe that is necessary for this type of mystery.

It was light and fun and I was able to read it without a lot of stress during an otherwise busy time of the year in my work schedule. I appreciated all of those aspects and will definitely read more from Moss!

Gone for Gouda is the second book in the A Cheese Shop Mystery series and I have to say that I enjoyed this one more than the first. The setting is established what's not to love about a mystery series involving cheese. As well as the characters being established. This one can focus on the mystery
