Gone for Gouda is number two in the cheese mysteries. I didn't read book one but I didn't feel like i was lost or missing anything. Cozy mysteries have become my guilty pleasure and this one is so cute, or murderish.lol I mean the name of the cheese shop is Curds and Whey, adorable. I loved the theme, the characters, the perfect names, the cheeses, it was just a lighthearted book that you can cozy up and read in one sitting. Beware....you will be craving a charcuterie board.

Fall and cozies, two of my favorite things, topped off with a tasty beer cheese dip recipe that goes great with fresh pretzels (cheese related recipes included with the book). So grab some soft pretzels, make some beer cheese soup or dip and follow Willa, the Curds & Whey cheese shop owner, as she solves another mystery. Willa is a cheese foodie, a fan of the Gouda, the Blue, and the Havarti, who is working hard to get her business going and thriving. One way to do this is by hosting a fall event, and while Willa is highly unimpressed by this local who made it big as a millennial vegetarian social media influencer, she sure hopes that potential customers will show up for Phoebe Winston‘s cooking demonstration. Given the diva attitude and selfish ways of the victim, there are many characters to choose from with possible motives, some from the past and some from the present, but definitely not Willa’s assistant, Archie. This is a Gouda plot (couldn’t resist the cheese pun) with a nice amount of misdirects, I thought I had it figured out but then was blown away by the reveal. I am not a fan of the triangle when it comes to cozies and hope that more develops between Willa and Detective Heath, Roman gets enough female attention as it is.

This was an enjoyable and engaging book. It was set in a quaint California town and had personable characters. Willa Bauer, owner of the Curds and Whey cheese shop, becomes involved in a murder investigation when a famous cook and author is killed shortly before she was scheduled to give a talk and cooking demonstration at Curds and Whey. This book kept me guessing until the end of the story, and the killer was one person I never suspected of the crime. I highly recommend this book to other cozy mystery readers. I received an ARC of this book from Net Galley, and the opinion expressed is strictly my own.

My favorite thing about cozy mysteries is just how different, yet the same, they can be. Gone for Gouda is another fun, and enjoyable cozy to add to the yes list.

Of course, I had to find the 2nd book in this series so now I need to go back and grab book 1 😂 BUT I did not miss anything major by reading this out of order. Love this about cozies too.

This one is perfect for cozy mystery fans as well as any that want to jump into the genre, and is on track to being one of my favorites. I mean...small town, cute as pie fur baby, murder, romantic vibes, nosy (yet loveable) heroine and her equally nosy friends 😂. What's not to love?

I sincerely appreciate St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions expressed herein are my own.

Send me all the cozy mysteries!! This was another great one I've read. It got a little slow at some parts, but I was still excited to continue reading on. I also enjoyed making a charcuterie board while reading this :D

It was a fun read and I want to go back to read the first in the series now. I will probably come back and read this one again after it. Definitely a cozy mystery that doesn't require a lot from you.

This is second book in this series and I enjoyed coming back Yarrow Glenn.

Our heroine Willa Braun welcomed to her her cheese shop Vegan author Phoebe Winston who will be doing a vegan demonstration of vegan cheese in promotion of a cook book Phoebe has written. Willa is doing this to get publicity for her shop.

Right at beginning Phoebe is demanding and difficult and just not nice. Phoebe basically takes Archie (who is a Curds and Whey employee of Willa’s) away from the shop to assist her while she is in town. This upsets Thomas a lot who is her personal assistant.

Right before the demonstration pictures come out of Phoebe eating ’meat’ thus blowing her credibility as a vegan influencer. Willa has to deal with refunds for the demonstration and after dealing with upset fans she decides to confront Phoebe and after she arrives at Phoebe’s rented house finds her dead.

This is a good mystery and Willa has a lot of suspects. All the cast from first book is here and we get to know them better. A secondary plot happening is Willa is trying to get a float made to represent her shop in an upcoming parade which is pretty funny.

This was a great read and my only small suggestion is I feel it is about two chapters too long otherwise it is a great read and I’m looking forward to next book in series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by St. Martin’s paperbacks provided by NetGalley. The opinions of this review is my own.

This book was so much fun! All the cheese puns and the fun characters were really enjoyable. This is definitely a series I'll be continuing. My only hang up was there were so many red herrings that near the end my mind felt like it was spinning out of control and I couldn't figure out where we were in the story or what was happening because Willa was running in every which way. Other than that, though, I really enjoyed this debut!

Cheesemonger Willa Bauer, owner of Curds & Whey, has a lot on her plate. There’s a float to build for the fall festival, plus the cheese shop is hosting celebrity vegan chef Phoebe Winston. After photos surface that prove the chef is, in fact, a carnivore, she is murdered. Willa’s employee, the charming Archie, was the last one to see Phoebe alive and the first person the police suspect. To clear his name Willa must uncover who’s been up to no gouda.
This was an enjoyable installment to a cheese-filled cozy mystery series. Willa is a great sleuth who is smart and resourceful. The plot was exactly what you expect in a cozy: twists and turns with light suspense, and a happy ending. I want to read the next one in the series. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the advanced reader’s copy. This review is my unbiased opinion.

Do you need a break from this thing called life?

Gone for Gouda is a cozy mystery that’ll make you hungry while you giggle.

The characters are all fun in that goofy way of cozies. Plus, there’s a dog involved, which always adds to a book’s charm for me.

The murder mystery is light but complex enough to keep you guessing.

We also have a budding romance, or maybe two, and recipes at the end to ease the hunger pains.

This is book 2 in the Cheese Shop Mysteries Series. I didn’t read the first book, and I had no problem jumping right in.

In the second book in this cozy mystery series, we see cheese shop owner, Willa, prepared to host a vegan influencer for an even promoting her new book--part memoir, part recipes using vegan cheese. But just before the event, the woman is caught eating ribs, and then is murdered! And as the last one to see her, Willa's young employee, Archie, is a suspect. Of course, Willa must investigate to clear Archie's name.

This is shaping up to be a great series. With lots of characters to keep you entertained and suspicious, but not so many you forget who everyone is, there's a great balance to the book. The mystery was also creative and timely and I didn't pick up on who the killer was until near the end. Cozy mystery fans should enjoy this one. I'll definitely keep reading this series and can't wait for the next installment!

Thanks to St. Martin's Press for my eARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

5 stars - 9/10

Book 2 in the series, and this one felt so much more established and enjoyable. The main characters were more developed, potential romances explored a little more, and the mystery moved at a good pace. This is a series that feels comforting and interesting, and I can’t wait to read the next one and see where things lead.

Gone for Gouda is the second book in the cheese shop mystery series by Korina Moss. Come visit Yarrow Glen just in time for the fall festival, but unfortunately a murder has taken place yet again and Willa is hot on the case to find out who the killer is. Join Willa in this hot and cheesy tale to figure out who the killer is before someone else meets the great cheese maker in the sky. Could the killer be someone they know? Read Gone for Gouda to find out.
If you are looking for a fast and easy cozy mystery then Gone for Gouda might just be the one for you. I can’t wait to read the next one to hopefully find out if Willa and Heath will become a couple.

I really loved this book, I found all the cheese references making me hungry and the storyline was well done. The mystery was interesting and kept me guessing the whole book! I would highly recommend this book to everyone!

Oh this was my favorite fall cozy mystery of the year. The cast of characters was so amusing and delightful.
And the story had the best flow...consistent progression of clues....and I build up on back-to-back action at the end. There was such great pacing to this...and the last 1/3 will have you hooked.

Plus, it has one of my favorite foods...cheese (charcuterie anyone?). Cute facts about cheese were included...and I learned about some new cheeses. But none of that that took away from the plot line. And....oooohhhhh......cheesy recipes at the end (although I have not tried them yet!)

Such a gem of a book. Make time to read this holiday season...or put it first on your list for next fall.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. And all my reviews are my own....so you know this one was worth it!

Willa is set to put her cheese shop on the map by hosting vegan chef Phoebe in her shop. When photos appear of Phoebe chowing down on ribs, Willa's hopes are quickly dashed. Things are worse for Phoebe who turns up dead with Willa's employee as the prime suspect. This is a fun series, and I love the characters. The mystery kept me waffling back and forth. I look forward to the next book in the series!

Princess Fuzzypants here: Willa is so excited. A famous tv celebrity chef is going to launch her new book from Willa’s store. So what if when the diva arrives, she brings demanding and manipulative to new heights. This event might put her shop on the map! And so it does but not in the way she expected. The woman is murdered shortly after being outed as a fraud. The killer didn’t just want to snuff her out, he wanted to ruin her reputation first. Other than the out of pocket costs, Willa might not have become involved in the investigation had her assistant, Archie, not be the prime suspect.

Her friend, the detective, does not want her involved but he is not adverse to listening to what she has to say. Willa has a way of uncovering things and when she gets to the bottom, it is hard not to feel some sympathy for the villain. The deceased was a thoroughly nasty piece of work who left damage in her wake. And it was this damage that was at the heart of it all.

I did have some strong suspicions about who was to blame but not for the reasons revealed. There were plenty of twists and turns so that the reader was left wondering who it was. I like the characters but it is hard to become invested in a woman whose pet is a fish- even a cute fish. But I do have hopes for her. The doggie in the story seemed to like her so there is hope. And there will be sparks flying next outing. The ending guaranteed that. Four purrs and two paws up.
