This book was just a delight. Perci's storyline is sympathetic and relatably chaotic. I love how she decides to take charge of her life and set boundaries for herself. I enjoyed her narrative voice and her unusual point of view. The fat/plus size representation was really wonderful. I loved how funny and joyful this book was!

This was really sweet. There ended up being quite a bit to enjoy about this book. The storyline was quite believable, the writing was well done, the main character was very easy to like and understand her, and the end was wrapped up very well. I also really enjoyed all the details about clothes, food, grumpy coworkers, and more. All in all, definitely would recommend

I really enjoyed this fun romcom. Perci gets dumped by her bf over the radio, he gets concert tickets!
One her friends makes an anti-resolution list for New Year’s, and Perci takes it to heart. Except maybe from the dating part after she meets her next door neighbor.
I love the characters in this book, especially Perci’s grandmother Mimi. She’s comic relief but is also a woman who tells the truth.
I recommend this book, 4 stars.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.

Perci is stuck. She is stuck in a job she hates, listening to her mother nitpick about her body, in a crappy relationship and hating herself. Still, all of that changes in a fateful dentist visit when her boyfriend dumps her live on air in exchange for concert tickets! Perci and her friend Matthias decide to create a list of anti resolutions and Perci challenges herself to try and follow them.

Nate is an excellent love interest and never brings up her weight/size as being a negative thing but the rest of the characters definitely do. As a fellow fattie some parts were quite difficult to read and it did bring back a lot of memories of when I was a teen fighting with my body and crash dieting so definitely be mindful of trigger warnings - I did cry at this book but I'm unsure if it was a response to the happily ever after (always present in a romcom) or from the memories, it stirred

The ending didn't quite feel right to me, no proper apologies are said and a certain character remains working for the family company which doesn't seem right. I also really wanted Perci to go no contact with her family but instead, she forgives them for their behaviour!?

Overall I'd give this book 3.5 stars.

This is such a fun meet-cute style story, with a huge focus on overbearing families - the characters are loveable and the entire book feels very relateable. For anyone wanting a laidback but lovely read, I'd definitely recommend!

This was ok for me...didn't turn out to be the funny rom-com I was expecting but still enjoyable. Would be willing to try other books by this author.

This debut novel from Sharon Peterson was at first slow to start and took at least a month to get motivated to dive deeper. It wasn't until chapter 7 when Persephone knocked on her neighbors door that the novel became more interesting and engaging. From that point forward, this became a page-turner that I finished less than a day later.

This was reviewed as a "laugh out-loud" book, but truthfully there were just a few parts I found to actually be funny. Namely the time when Persephone dressed in her daycare outfit for the dress for success presentation.

Thank you for NetGalley, Sharon Peterson, and the publisher for the advance readers copy in exchange for my honest review.

I loved the effort the author did with the Mimisims. iIt was such a cute touch. It was a different pace then the books I’d been reading but it was really refreshing.
The book was actually much deeper than I thought it would be I loved Mimi. I loved Perci’s evolution and I think this was a self love book as much as a romance one

This is a fun, funny unexpected love story. I really enjoyed the humor throughout the story. Perci is a wonderful young woman who just can’t seem to measure up to her moms expectations. Her inter Phee is her mothers dream daughter who is beautiful and doing everything that makes her mom proud. When Percis boyfriend breaks up with her on a radio talk show, her mom is convinced it is her fault. Thankfully Perci has a Mimi that comes to her defense and always helps to keep her smiling. When Perci quits her job at the family company and decides to work in a daycare her mom thinks she has lost her mind. Will Perci follow her own dreams or will she let her mom dictate her future?
Thank you to netgalley for complimentary copy.
Very enjoyable read.

This book was such a feel good and thought provoking story. I really enjoyed it. All of the characters were extremely likable, even when involved in difficult scenarios, it was easy to hope for the best. I loved the relationship Perci had with her best friend and oh my goodness, Mimi! The best grandma to have in your corner. Thanks to Net Galley and Bookouture for sharing this book in exchange for an honest review. I had so much fun reading it.

All around fun and fabulous! I couldn't love this book more! Cannot believe it's a debut from Sharon M. Peterson.

After the most humiliating break-up, over the radio, while laying in a dentist chair, over New Years, Perci and her bestie Mathias start a list of New Year's Resolutions.

1.) Stop Dating
2.) Stop Trying To Lose Weight
3.) Stop Working So Hard
4.) Stop Trying To Live Up To Unrealistic Expectations
5.) Stop Trying to Please My Mother

#5 proves me to harder than she thought, as her mom tries to get her back with her ex. Cue the imaginary boyfriend to get her mom off her back. But, the imaginary boyfriend has a name and happens to be her neighbor. What could possibly go wrong?

This book was so much more than a rom-com. I loved all the supporting characters. Mimi especially and all her witty tips and advice. Between her and Perci's inner dialog, I was cracking up at almost every page. This book was quick and flowed so nicely. Peterson's writing was absolutely brilliant. The characters were developed so nicely - a total feel good, heartwarming and all around fun read! I'm excited for more from this author.

This is the first book I have read by Ms. Peterson and I can definitely say it won't be my last! I enjoyed her writing style, it kept me interested and engaged and I had a lot of fun reading this book. The storyline flowed nicely and I totally got caught up in Perci and Nate's story. After the difficult time she's been having lately, Perci sets out to reinvent herself and along the way she finds a new friend, Nate, who helps her along with that by pretending to be her fake boyfriend. He helped her change her outlook on life and learn to love herself and along the way, their fake relationship became real.
It was such a sweet and charming read, I honestly did not want it to end. The characters were wonderful and so well-defined, there was no way I wasn't going to fall in love with them. Such a delightful read that warmed my heart and left me with a huge smile on my face. I loved the book and you can be sure I will be looking for more of Ms. Peterson's books!
I received a complimentary copy from Bookouture via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
