This was such a fun book! It made me laugh out loud several times and that doesn’t often happen when I’m reading.

This is the kind of book that just hits the spot after a long day of work. Best buds, revenge, a ridiculous villian, and some romance all mixed into one satisafying read.

A modern take on the classic movie 9 to 5 with a dash of Office Space. Cannot stop telling my book clubbies to check this one out. Most def on my reread list.

You Should Smile More follows Vanessa after she’s fired from her telemarketing job because her boss doesn't like her face. The story moves back and forth between present day espionage/revenge on the company (with some inspiration from Sun Tzu’s the Art of War) and her past few weeks at this terrible company.

This novel was hysterical and the perfect escape from the stresses of my own job. There were times that I had to physically put my Kindle down just to take a breath from laughing. It was such a fun story to follow and the boss, Xavier, was absolutely ridiculous.

When the reason you are fired is because they “dont like your face” and then want you to sign off on not getting unemployment benefits? Yeah the gloves are coming off. Vanessa Blair works at a strange company that has strange demands, from weird team building exercises to the constant turnover, what she never saw coming was being called into the office and told that she is being fired because the company doesnt like her face and that she has a “dark soul”. On top of that her friend Jane Delaney and Trisha Lam are both brought in and also fired except Trisha was essentially forced to write a humiliating apology letter in order to keep her job in which they put her on permanent probation and make her clean dumpsters. The three friends know something strange is happening and that it’s up to them to get revenge a la The Art of War style. Throw in a mischievous moms and her friends, a cute cat guy, some bugging, and lots of extra dry cappuccinos and what you get is a fun read with some light romance and lots of cute cats. I had a blast with this one and it definitely is a nice fun read!

You Should Smile More
A Novel
by Anastasia Ryan

This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, from SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca and #NetGalley.
This book had me laughing. The women and bridge brigade were not to be taken lightly.
The women kicked butt after being fired for odd reasons. pretty unlikely reasons, but fired for disliking Vanessa's face. The three friends launch a revenge scheme that starts a huge domino effect. It was a fun read.

I loved this book so, so much! It was off-the-wall in the best way possible and made me laugh so hard. If you have ever had a boss from Hell and wished karma would kick them in the butt, this the book for you!

Nessa did everything right at her job despite their ridiculous demands, and she was rewarded for her hard work by being fired. Reason given: her face.

This sets off a hilarious quest for revenge with help from her officemates and her mom’s unhinged bridge club buddies. Throw in a litter of calico kittens, a hot, tattooed unemployment officer, and some wild turkeys, and you’ve got one perfect book.

This will definitely be added to my favorite reads of the year. Highly recommend!

Thank you so much to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

This debut from Anastasia Ryan is a fun, light romp in a pretty unlikely (but not a million miles off-base) corporate world.
Fired, because her cretin of a boss doesn't "like her face", Vanessa and her two work friends launch a revenge scheme that starts an unlikely chain of events. As their plan gathers momentum, they begins to see that something very shady might be going on at Directis they might be uncovering more than they ever imagined.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy,

Trisha and Jane were ride or dies for Vanessa. Adored the kitten’s names. Will be recommending this book in book club! Shout out to Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book!

I had a difficult time finding the footing in this story. As much as I tried I couldn’t get into this one.

Can you be fired because of your face? Definitely not, but in this book Vanessa is and it sets off a chain of events that are sometimes extremely amusing.

This book is completely ridiculous but in a good way. The premise makes absolutely no sense, and neither do most of the supporting characters. The antagonist is bizarre and completely unbelievable, but it kind of fits with the rest of the story.

When I started this book, I wasn’t sure if I was going to finish it. I stuck it out though, and ended up liking it more than I expected. It’s a quick and fun read as long as you can throw all reality out the window.
