Moorcock's CITADADEL OF FORGOTTEN MYTHS reminds me why he's won so many lifetime awards--he really is a master of his craft, and it's easy to see in CITADEL the tremendous influence Moorcock has had in shaping (maybe even, to an extent, creating) epic and grimdark fantasy. Honestly, this book was a breath of fresh air, so much smarter and complicated and better written than 99.9% of the fantasy being published today. An absolute treat.
