Garrett's Destiny is the eighth book in the continuation of the Dark Protectors series by Rebecca Zanetti (15th book overall). It brings to light new faces from times past and present along with a deeper insight into the history of the Vampire Kurjan war. While some of our favorite characters from the earlier books do make cameos in Immortal’s Honor, the focus is on illuminating a new mythos that began in Vampire's Faith with brand new characters and relationships.

This book focuses on Destiny Applegate, an enhanced lady who has premonitions about her destiny, duty, and her mate. However, she does not fully understand her gifts and her destiny.

Garrett Kayrs is a highly powerful being who is a mythical part of the magical circle tasked with binding the Kurjan leader in another dimension and making sure the barrier holds forever in addition to being the heir to the throne. However, he has a premonition of his mate and feels a sense of darkness and danger around her. Despite his brethren's watch over the centuries trying to contain an ancient evil, the endgame is near.

Together, Garrett and Destiny work with their brethren to combat the forces of darkness and save their world. This book is truly spellbinding. Rebecca Zanetti creates characters with such depth that you just can't help rooting for them.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC

Another great instalment in the Dark Protectors series. Garrett & Destiny's story action-packed, steamy and emotional. I'm intrigued by the overarching plot line of the battle between the Realm and the Kurjons and can't wait for the next book to see what happens next!

I have been waiting for Garrett’s book and this did not disappoint! Destiny was made for Garrett. She put him through the wringer with all the doubts and twists and turns in this book that I did not see coming.
I highly recommend this series (it’s one of the best) and must be read in order. So good and so hot!

I read this book when I first got it on NG, but didn’t review it. So I reread it. It was just as good the second time around.

Garrett Kayrs has been pulled in different directions his entire life. As the future King of the Realm, a member of the Seven, and a member of the Grizzly MC, Garrett’s loyalties are divided. When he meets Destiny Applegate, a human of all things, he is immediately drawn to her, but he doesn’t know why. For years he has been having dreams of his future mate being on the back of his bike, then trying to kill him. Destiny is as far from a murdering warrior as you can get, yet Garrett is drawn to her as he has been drawn to no other in his life.

Destiny is going to die. She has accepted it and only wants to enjoy the month she has left. When she meets Garrett, she immediately recognizes him from a dream she had years ago. He saved her from falling off a cliff at her school. Destiny has never forgotten that face & when she meets him, she wonders WTF is going on. Why did she dream of him? Was he just a figment of her imagination? When she propositions Garrett, she has nothing to lose. The tumor in her head will kill her sooner rather than later and she wants to really live and enjoy the time she has left.

When Garrett learns about Destiny’s tumor, he is convinced that his Aunt Emma, the Queen of the Realm and a doctor, can fix whatever is wrong with her. He doesn’t expect that Emma won’t be able to help. While he still hasn’t considered that Destiny is his murderous mate, he knows that he can’t let her die.

I really enjoyed Garrett & Destiny’s story. Destiny was everything that Garrett never expected. He knew that his mate would try to kill him, so he expected a warrior. Which means that he didn’t expect Destiny at all. Destiny was so sweet, the fact that she was Garrett’s mate never crossed her mind. She knows that she would never hurt him. Or would she?

I can’t wait to read Hope’s story next & I really hope she ends up with Pax. I don’t like Drake at all. I was perfectly happy when I finished the book. RZ has another hit on her hands.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

There’s nothing more fascinating than getting to know another Dark Protector in the outer realm, and if it is one by Rebecca Zanetti, it’s worth the read.

In total honesty, it has been a while I visited them. It was a great going down memory lane as I met Talen, Zane, Dage, Conn, just to mention a few, as Rebecca Zanetti takes us on an engrossing ride with Vampire-Demon Garrett Kayrs and his Destiny.

Garrett’s Destiny truly is a captivating story of relationships, friendships and the need to create a peaceful world for future generation as Garrett and Destiny try to fight for their own future. With an interesting bankground for Destiny, and her appearance in Garrett’s life, and the twisted turn of events that bind Garrett and Destiny, is a great read for any book lover

Received an ARC from Kensington Books, Lyrical Press via NetGalley for an honest review.

Rebecca Zanetti is always one of those authors that can pull me out of a slump!

I don't know if it is that masculine alpha energy or just plain her writing but whatever it is always works!

Since Garrett was first mentioned I was always curious how his story would play out. "Seeing" a character grow up and then watch their romantic life unfold can be uncomfortable but Rebecca has always written those in a way where you don't associate them as "when they were little". Them growing up is so seamless so when we get them as an adult it just makes sense!

Garrett has been searching for his mate and has been driving himself crazy over it. He knows she is out there and he knows that she will try to kill him. So why is it that when a human comes along he just forgets about that mate he has been pining for?

Destiny is more than she seems. A human who is trying to live life in such a short time, taking everything in stride and just enjoying anything and everything she can. She is actually one of my top favorite characters! She is sweet but also super fierce and will stand for what she believes in and what is right to her.

Forces have pulled them together and when they are thrown something so immense Garrett makes it his mission to come out the winner.

This book pulled me in right from the get go and had me attached! I can't wait to see what comes next!

Yes, oh my goodness yes! This is everything I wanted Garrett's book to be plus some. I love Destiny's twist; it was so unexpected, but well done. I will say this was not as fast paced as I thought it would be and I am glad it wasn't. The story is amazing, the characters are amazing, and the plot was amazing. I could not read this one fast enough. I cannot wait for the next one.

RZ knocks it out of the part yet again! This is one series where I can’t guess what’s going to happen- I’m continually kept on my toes and I genuinely don’t want this series to end although this is the second last and I’m NOT READY to say goodbye to this world and these characters.

Our hero is a big, gruff, intense biker vampire/demon hybrid and he’s been looking for his bad-ass mate having dreamt of her for years. One day however, he meets a human sweetheart who is all things sweet and nice and non bad-ass but he can’t help but be drawn to her so he takes her along for a wild ride that turns into so much more.

Although these books could be read as standalones I highly recommend reading the series (or at least where the reboot series starts) because you don’t want to miss out on what is happening in this world full of vampires, demons, shifters, fairies, secret societies and rituals. The world building is perfectly balanced with the romance and relationship and honestly I couldn’t ask for anything more in a paranormal romance. If you haven’t read Rebecca Zanetti yet then you need to!

Garrett has been waiting for his happily ever after for a long time now. He's been searching for a dangerous woman who will be his mate - as he also navigates everything that is happening in relation with finding a way to defeat the big bad and keep his family safe (especially his niece). Garrett is the link between a lot of powerful families and groups within the supernatural world. His role is pivotal in figuring out how their world is going to survive and move forward. Running into Destiny in a diner in the middle of nowhere seems like a coincidence - but it quickly turns out to be anything but. Destiny is more than what she seems and even knows herself. She is also clearly perfect for Garrett - I guess fate gets it right sometimes!

This is a long running series with some complex family relationships - you could start here but I wouldn't necessarily recommend that. I started this series within the current arc - and that definitely helps in understanding this particular world and the folks who are moving in it. I am very much looking forward to where things go from here!

Overall - I think fans of this series will be VERY happy with this book and if you are looking for a new paranormal romance series to binge - I'd recommend this one!

I received this as an ARC via NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing/Lyrical Press for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a multibook series, for me since I have read most of these books, it reads great. It may be a bit overwhelming if this is your first read. There are a lot of names. But stick with it the adventure is worth it!! The characters are so fun and interesting. Never a dull moment. Destiny-you think she is this delicate thing and then bam! What a wild ride. But so much fun. Loved this and the series. 4 stars

After fifteen-plus books, it is still possible to be thrown for a loop in this exciting series.

Garrett has a lot to live up to. He is the heir to the Realm and one of the Seven meant to stop Ulric from wreaking havoc on the world. And in his dreams his future mate is trying her best to kill him. Destiny carries the heavy burden of a brain tumor with little time left. She throws all caution to the wind when she meets Garrett and climbs on the back of his motorcycle. Garrett is drawn to Destiny, but she is only human, and can therefore not possibly be his mate. Or can she?

Destiny was either very brave or very stupid, or possibly both, to just jump into an adventure with Garrett and his motorcycle gang friends. Right from the start they were drawn to each other and that drove almost all of their decisions. She never shied away from trying something new and completely embraced this chance to do something daring with her last days. Even when the truth about her condition started to unfold, she just bravely soldiered on without a single thought of giving up.

Garrett was the strong pillar of strength behind Destiny’s uncertainty. He took his self-imposed job of protecting her very seriously, even though a part of him realized that he might have to give her up at some point. I really loved the two of them together.

Between Destiny’s condition, Hope’s dream world visits, the Realm’s increasing role in the Seven’s plan, help from the rest of the Seven, and so much more the surprises just kept coming. I love how everything unfolded at just the right pace.

I can recommend this entire series if you like steamy paranormal romance with lots of action and suspense. It is definitely best to start at the beginning.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What an intense ride. I've been waiting for Garrett to find his mate for a while and Destiny did not disappoint. She is perfect for this broody alpha. Their story is intense with so much happening in the overall story arc. It looks like this with Ulric and the final battle is approaching soon. I can't wait to see what happens next!!

I love so much the Realm, and Rebecca Zanetti' s stories and characters are an amazing journey to read.

Garrett is special to me, while I was reading his book with Dessie I felt like he was one of my friend's son. I remember him through the years: his birth, when he was a kid and a brat, or a young vampire ready to burn the steam in a fight.

Now is all grown-up and so much like his father Talen. He's protective, total alpha badass, loyal and take care of Dessie as a treasure, his treasure.

Garrett and Dessie are a great match, so different but perfect together and their chemistry is hot. The plot is intriguing, engaging with a lot of characters bound to Garrett: family, friends. They love him and be there when needed, to fight with him and protect Dessie. This is another thing I love about him: his gift to build ties so deep with everyone.

The Kurjans the Realm enemies are evil, and as always they found a way to use against Garrett his only weakness: his mate.

It's an amazing read and I think Garrett's Destiny and Fated (Talen's story) are my favourite books.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Garrett finally finds his mate!!

Garrett has been searching for his mate ever since he has dreamt about her but while he’s searching for her, he has no trouble picking up women along the way until he finally finds her. He meets Dessie one night in a bar and bam! Instant attraction (and holy moly did they get started quickly….maybe too quickly?).

Dessie has led an interesting life and now that she has a brain tumor, she has decided to just live life to its fullest until she dies. So getting it on with a random guy in the bar (especially since she hasn’t ever had sex) satisfies more than one of her desires.

Garrett can’t seem to let Dessie go and when he takes off out of town, she decides to join him. He wants the Queen to see what she can do to heal Dessie and what they come to find out about her tumor leads to a whole host of discoveries that I never saw coming!

The book was really good, the pacing and action excellent, and I loved seeing the family and getting more glimpses into Hope’s life. LI took of a star because the of how quickly we jumped into these two being together and I thought Garrett was a little over the top alpha in this book.

Can’t wait for Hope’s!🤗 Wonder who she’ll end up with 🤔.

Thanks to Kensington Books for the ARC!

I've read quite a few books in this series but I've got to say this one was beyond anything that I could have been expecting. It was so out-of-the box, creatively drawing outside the lines, good. I'd have to say that it was something that caused me Shock and Awe.
Who knew Destiny held so many secrets? Sweet, old fashioned caring Dessie had secrets that even she didn't know about. And the surprises just kept coming making this a one of a kind wild ride. I enjoyed every minute of that. I also got a big kick out of the times she introduced herself to the immortal people. "Yes, I'm just a human." Another time when she said, "You don't have to sniff me, yes, I'm just a human." I had to grin at some of the things that she said and the fact that she really wasn't afraid of Garrett. Although common sense said that maybe she should be.
Garrett is everything that you can expect as the fierce, dangerous Immortal that he is. He is also mighty confused with sweet Dessie. He gets even more confused when things start to explode with her. But he will get to the bottom of things because he likes her and they have some good sexy times together. People will pay if they so much as hurt a strand on her head. And of course you know they will. Things just keep getting more and more dangerous, twisted, while Dessie and Garret just get deeper in their relationship at time. As truths come out, I wondered the whole time how things could ever work out for them. I'm not saying why because I don't want to give spoilers but I will say that they had several things trying to work against them.
The world building is spectacular as always. Other members of the "families" figure in the story but I don't think it should be overwhelming for new readers.
I'd have to say that there is a H.E.A. for now because the final battle against evil Ulrich, the religious leader of the Cyst hasn't happened yet.

Garrett Karys, is felling the pressure as part of the Grizzles MCC, and member of the Seven, charged with keeping Ulric the leader of the Kurjan trapped in another dimension. He's losing hope in finding his mate. He's dreams shows that she's a warrior and will try to kill him, but he also feels the danger that follows her. While sitting in a bar with the Grizzlies in walks Destiny Applegate

Destiny Applegate is human, so she can't be Garrett's mate. But Garrett feels attraction and protective. Is she bait sent out by the Kurjans? Garrett convenience Destiny to travel with the club so he can interrogate her. Again, he questions their connection and her being his mate. This tiny human, and freelance reporter can't be his mate, or can she?

Destiny's purpose is revealed in an awful and painful way. We find out more about the Hope(Lock) and the Keys and what role Destiny plays. Garrett has to find a way to save Destiny, show his loyalty to the Realm, family, as well honor his vow with the Seven. Time is running out as Ulrich is one step closer to finding freedom.

I'm a new reader to this series. I have recently found and loved this author's romantic suspense titles, and so I thought I would check out her paranormal romantic suspense in this dark protectors series. I was not disappointed.

Garrett Kayrs is a vampire-demon hybrid looking for his mate. He has a vision of what this mate looks like and finds her in Destiny Applegate. He doesn't quite understand why he's attracted to her as she is human. Garrett is an alpha male character and he models the typical alpha behaviors if you like that sort of character. He does have other redeeming qualities too.

Destiny is dealing with some health issues that have her grabbing every moment she can. She recognizes Garrett from a dream and there's a mutual attraction, so she climbs on Garrett's motorcycle to experience what he has to offer.

I don't want to spoil anything but I can say that I did like the pace of the story (it moves!) and the twisty sort of plot which features some unexpected moments and situations. I love that in any story and it was really terrific here.

While this was the first experience with this world, I'm totally hooked and want more! The good news is that there are plenty of books in this world to get caught up with.

There's plenty of steam and emotional content in this story which also made this reader happy. While I think it would have helped to have more background in this world, I was able to read this standalone, although I would recommend getting invested in this series from the beginning.

Overall, this is an intriguing paranormal romantic suspense that I enjoyed very much. The characters are interesting, the pace of the plot moves quickly and it left me wanting more.

Garret, Garret, Garret what more can I say?! 😉. This book was everything I wished for and more. We have had the pleasure of watching Garrett grow into this phenomenally strong, loving, caring, sexy male and reading this book seriously was not a disappointment. Rebecca Zanetti has a way of capturing the essence of each of her characters and just making you fall in love with them. The moment that Destiny and Garrett met was quite interesting and seriously the momentum of the book never stopped. There were twists and turns that I did not see coming and the romance between Destiny and Garrett sizzled. I also love how although the book was Garrett and Destiny's love story, Rebecca moved the overall arc of the Dark Protector's story along. I've already read the story twice and listen to it on Audible and I'm dying to read the next one! If you are a fan of this series you must read this book right now! If you have never read this series before I highly suggest starting it as soon as possible. This author knows how to engage her readers, is phenomenal at world building, and her characters have great depth. Thank you to Rebecca Zanetti for writing another phenomenal book. You are a gifted writer and you create worlds that make people want to live in!

I loved it! I love this series so much and I'm always so excited when there's a new book out. I love these characters and all of the adventure, the love and family and loyalty. Bring on the next one!

Although it feels like we've been waiting forever for it, Garrett's book is finally here. And it's everything I thought it would be, and more. Garrett has been searching for his much dreamed about "dangerous" mate for years. When he steps in to help fragile (and very human) Destiny, he has no idea what she'll come to mean to him and the roll she'll play in the Realm's fight against the Kurjans, Cysts, and the ultimate baddie - Ulric.

I knew Garrett would be a take-charge alpha (with a touch too much alpha-holeness), but phew! *fans self* Luckily, as fragile as Destiny seems, she's more than able to stand up to him while also bringing out his "softer" side. There's definitely more to her than meets the eye. So much happens in this story. There's danger, intrigue, lots of surprises, ruthless bad guys who will stop at nothing to see their side win, and plenty of heat. It definitely sets up well for Hope's book.

Many thanks to Kensington Publishing and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.
