The book was meh, I thought it was a decent read. I haven’t read the previous books in the series so I felt I was behind a little bit in the storyline. I also found the writing a bit choppy. But, overall it wasn't a bad read. I think I might go back and read her other books.

This was a great read overall. I haven’t read the previous books in the series so I felt I was behind a little bit in the storyline. So I would recommend reading the previous books in the series, but I do not think it hindered my reading whatsoever. We get to meet Duke and Caitlyn in this story. Duke is protecter throughout the book and Caitlyn is someone everyone needs on their lives. They meet and have an amazing night together not expecting anything beyond this. This was a great book and there were many twists and turns throughout the story.

I received this ARC through the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing this book, opinions are my own.

Duke Reid is getting back to his job as a stuntman after a two-year layup from being hurt. While at a party for a friend who is getting married he meets Caitlyn Winters, they have a one-night stand yet Duke hopes that maybe after his movie shoot in Canada he can find her again.
Caitlyn who has left a very small town in Kentucky along with a group of people including her parents and ex-boyfriend who has no faith in her to make it to California wants her to stay because she does so much for all of them. When arriving for her new job the following morning she is given an assignment of corralling a spoiled star and keeping him out of the papers. The place though is in Canada and happens to be the same movie as Duke is working on.
Duke becomes two different people though after she arrives at the movie shoot. First, he does not think she should be there babysitting the star because no one has been able to handle him. Second, he thinks he needs to follow her around or she will fall for said star. Both are wrong on each account. He then belittles her twice in front of the crew and the second time if possible was actually worse than the first time. Yet he still says he loves her, how? How do you tear down and embrace the person you say you are in love with and think an apology will fix everything? I know it is just a story and I am totally overreacting and I know it is the way I was raised and have raised my daughters, but he would not have been with her at the end, they would not and have not taken back guys who have spoken to them like this character just in school. So as much as I want to give it five stars I am giving it four for that reason. I did like the other characters in the book which added to the story, a good read.

3.5 rounded to 4 stars. 😍
Full review coming ASAP.
Notes:
- Read in one sitting, STEAMY, sexy dramatic read
- Good storyline, good plot, believable characters
- My first of the series so I will be going back to read more and am looking forward to Cameron's story
- The spice was 🔥😍👏🌶
- The DRAMA 👏
- Some minor editing issues (change of perspective mid scene, repeating of an action further into a scene 'she rolled onto her back' when she'd already done that a couple of paragraphs back)
- some scenes I think should have been approached differently (when duke spent a whole paragraph obsessing over her bully button piercing when she clearly needed reassurance, also I'm still a bit unsure about the scene with Leo and the two younger guys, I feel like that may have been insensitive in so many ways and it was kind of just left, I mean was Leo struggling? Did anyone get him any help?
- Other than the few minor issues, really enjoyable story and mostly well written 👏🔥

When sparks fly!

What a great addition to the Renegade’s series. In book 9 we get to get a little more into Duke’s head and what makes him tick. Then Duke finds sweet, kind and memorable Caitlyn and chemistry and forever might be as important or more important than the stunt work he loves. So how can he keep he safe when she’s part of his job? He doesn’t want to hurt her but will if it saves her life or others.

The author writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

Authors Blurb: After two years sidelined from the Renegades, Duke Reid wants nothing more than the excitement of his stuntwork—except for Caitlyn Winters. She's country fresh and just as naive, the kind of woman you rarely find in LA. On night to remember is all Duke needs to know she's a keeper. Unfortunately, he leaves the next day for a job in British Colombia. When the sheltered beauty shows up on his movie set, managing damage control for the biggest prick in Hollywood, Duke sees disaster on the horizon. If anyone gets hurt on Duke's watch, he risks losing his certification, ending her career as a stunt man, the only job he knows and loves. A job that's also funding his sister's legal battle against an abusive ex for a custody of Duke's nieces. He can't afford to screw up. Caitlyn is in way over her head, and her naivety could cost Duke everything.

There's no going back for Caitlyn. She burned all her bridges on the way out of her small Kentucky town for her dream job in Los Angeles, where her cousin, Lexi LaCroix, lives a fairy tale life. But Caitlyn's dream job turns into a nightmare on day one. She didn't sign up to be a celebrity fixer, but her savings and her pride says she can't quit. She's pleased to find Duke on the same movie set, until he tells her she's not qualified to handle the job. Then he becomes just one more person who underestimates her.

Tempers flare, as do sparks, but if her bed isn't good enough, her won't be the only job she tanks.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

How I have missed the Renegades! Lexi and Jax finally tieing the knot. At their wedding, we meet our current couple Caitlyn, Lexi’s cousin, and Duke, one of the Renegades. What starts as a steamy one-night stand becomes oh so much more.

Duke is burning the candle at both ends, returning to work, helping his sister raise her three girls, and supporting her through a rough divorce. Caitlyn has moved to California to prove she can make it on her own, while her family back home in KY feels she will return after failing. Her journey of growth is fun to witness.

As with the other Renegade books, this one was over too quickly and left me wanting more.

Different from the other books I have read from Ms. Jordan, yet refreshing to see an author books different than I have read before. I have to say this was a refreshing read and while the title and series may have conjured up a different picture in my head, I wasn’t disappointed with the actual book and will reading the others in the series.

4 1/2 Stars for this Renegade romance!

I loved Caitlyn and Duke! It made me laugh the way everyone thought Caitlyn was this sweet country bumpkin ... oh, she is sweet alright but under that country bumpkin exterior is a sassy powerhouse. As a stuntman Duke is this hulking protective figure, but he has such a soft heart for Caitlyn, his sister and especially his three nieces. My heart melted when he interacted with his nieces. Right from the minute Caitlyn and Duke met, the chemistry between them was so strong I thought my iPad was going to melt!

Duke and Caitlyn first meet at a mutual friend's wedding and have a one-night stand. Duke is a stuntman returning to work after a long hiatus looking after this sister and nieces. Caitlyn is tired of being the glue that holds her family together. It's time her parents did the parenting with her three younger brothers, so she moves from Kentucky to LA. She gets a job with a PR firm and is sent to BC, Canada to be "the fixer" for one of the most hard to handle actors in the industry. When Duke and Caitlyn meet again on the movie set, they can't keep their hands off each other. But will her job or his family situation end their relationship before it even get going?

Risk, by Skye Jordan, starts with a one night stand between Caitlyn and Duke at Caitlyn's cousin's wedding. Caitlyn has recently relocated to LA from a small Kentucky town. Everyone at home expects her to fail and come back with her tail between her legs. This book follows Caitlyn's journey to independence. Duke has had his hands full helping his sister raise her three daughters and helped in her fight against her soon-to-be ex-husband. There are lots of twists and turns in this book. Some you see coming, some you do not. All in all, a very good read that I really enjoyed. Strong 4 stars. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy!

Another great book by Skye Jordan.
Duke is a rock climber/stunt man helping his sister deal with an ugly divorce and custody battle. Caitlyn is from a small town in the south trying her best to acclimate to life in the world of Hollywood. The two meet at a wedding and their chemistry is off the charts. But a relationship between the two is hard when obstacle after obstacle seem to get in their way. They have a lot to overcome if they want to make things work, but can they?
Loved the characters, setting and the plot flowed seamlessly from scene to scene. Loved it!
