This book is THE perfect book to read around Christmas time with a cup of apple cider and a fireplace. I think this Christmas I will do just that.

Millie is engaged to Harry - the man who looks great on paper. Turns out, he's rotten and pretty pathetic. When Millie becomes pregnant, Harry wants her to terminate the pregnancy. Millie has a tough decision to make.

Spoiler alert:
She keeps the baby. Although based on the cover readers assume she kept the baby.

Millie travels back to her hometown to see her best friend's wedding and stays with Millie's unrequited love - Dexter.

Ahhh, that guy - now HE's the real dream who also looks pretty darn good on paper.

The two spend time together in his cottage and he takes amazing care of the very pregnant Millie.

So, this super British, super quaint book does not have spicy sizzle, but instead is a long, slow burn that had me shed a lot of "awwwwww" tears.

I loved it all. It is quite a different story compared to a lot of what's out there currently in the romance genre.

This book is perfect for those who want a nice romance with a beautiful backdrop about two friends who become so much more.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing me an e-copy of TOGETHER UNDER A SNOWY SKYE by Lisa Hobman.

I rate TOGETHER UNDER A SNOWY SKYE five out of five stars.

What a fantastic book with likeable characters (apart from one) and a wonder dog called Nigel. Once I started reading I couldn’t stop and loved every page. It’s set in snowy Scotland at Christmas when heavily pregnant Millie goes for her best friends wedding.. Parts are predictable but I wouldn’t change a thing about this book it’s brilliantly written with a pace that makes you want to know what happens next. I would give it more than five stars if it were possible

I absolutely love this authors books so was looking forward to reading this one. This could be read as a standalone but loved how it brought back some of
The characters we had seen in previous Skye books.

This was such a delightful cosy escapism read and was like being given a warm hug once I had started reading it I couldn’t put it down as it was totally invested into the story of Millie and dex and all of the other characters and events in between. I would love another book featuring these characters to see where their journey takes them.

Love this storyline of long term friends Millie, Jules and Jules brother Dexter and how they are there for each other through thick and thin, when Millie believes she has found the love of her life and presents her fiance Harry with his birthday present things quickly turn sour, realising that life was not how she planned and that she was going to be a single mom, Millie with the help of Jules at least has somewhere to stay until she can make more perminant plans,
As time goes on and heavily pregnant Millie travels to the snowy isle of Skye for Jules Christmas eve wedding with a few bumps along the way she ends up realising that she was in live with Dexter all along but does he feel the same and she can't risk losing her friendship with Jules either
Loved this book with it's lovely snowy description and had a few giggles along the way

Oh I do love a new Lisa Hobman book, especially one set in Scotland and at Christmas time, it’s like it was written just for me.

I really enjoyed reading about Millie, she was a great protagonist, very human with flaws but she had a strength of character that I really liked. I need a Dex in my life, in a little cottage in Scotland, snow falling outside and the fire burning inside, wrapped up in his arms…..where was I? Oh yes, Lisa does paint the perfect picture. I also liked Harry too. Not that I liked him as a person - he’s delightfully deceitful and nasty - but I appreciated the character writing of him to make him believable. And the extended cast of characters felt like a real community, and I loved the addition of little Nigel, the Jack Russell as he reminded me of my Jack Russell.

I’ve read a few of Lisa Hobman’s books now, and whilst I enjoyed them all immensely, this became my favourite within the first few pages, but I can’t really explain why, which isn’t good for a book review. The was jut something embedded in the words, a heart and a soul embedded in the words that made this stand out for me.

Was the ending slightly predictable? Yes. Is this a bad thing? Absolutely not. Thats what I need, what I want from a romance book. I want that happily-ever-after feeling, that feeling of friendship and love and joy and warmth and positivity. It just makes you feel so happy that you can’t stop smiling as you read it. There is nothing less I would expect from one of her books, she’s become a go-to author for uplifting stories.

Such a beautiful novel. Heroine shows to be a strong independent woman. Loved the guessing of who she will choose in the end, if either man!

Oh my giddy aunt I loved this story. A unplanned baby and the twist it took was ace. Old friends are great. Set mainly on the Isle of Sky. You couldn’t put it down. A must relaxing read.

Really enjoyed this despite the disgusting Harry. Nigel was a lovely addition to the story. Millie was more of a strong independent character than the usual doormat types in these types of books. It was nice she stood up for herself so often. The ending was satisfying.

What a beautiful book! Thank you so much Boldwood Books for incredible opportunity.
I loved the characters, premise, writing, and overall storyline.
You really go back and forth between when our main character is going to end up with
if she chooses to end up with anyone at all. Such a sweet story, perfect to cozy up with
at home or on the beach. Highly recommend 5/5. More in-depth review to follow here and on the blog.

Escape to the Isle of Skye this winter with bestseller Lisa Hobman, for this brand new wonderfully romantic read.
After the heartbreak of a secret unrequited love, Millie Treadaway has finally found someone to spend her life with.

Eight months later Millie returns to Glentorrin on the Isle of Skye for her best friend Jules’ Christmas wedding. Heartbroken, single and heavily pregnant.
Staying in Lifeboat Cottage with Jules’ brother, kindhearted Dexter, she’s given up on love and resigned herself to be the best single Mum ever.
But a shock phone call from Harry leaves her reeling and doubting herself and her decisions.
Do second chances work? Or is Dexter, right? That she deserves much more?
Can the festive spirit in Glentorrin, and a little stray Jack Russell terrier, heal her heart?
Or is she fated to remain a member of the lonely-hearts club forever?
