Cooking with kids was a great first book to do over the winter break with my daughter (5 yrs. old) to spend quality time with her one on one. The recipes were simple and the instructions were easy to follow. I have a picky eater but she was willing to sample that was out of her normal food.

I was excited to get this, when I read through the recipes I was expecting to find recipes I haven’t cooked before.
I’ve made a lot of these recipes with pretty much the same ingredients lol. Kids love it and it’s easy! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy.

Great cookbook for older kids. Not too many i feel are toddler hands on friendly. Nonetheless it is kid approved recipes!

Cooking with kids would make a great addition to our family kitchen! My son (5) loves to help In the kitchen and there were so many recipes that were simple enough that he’d be able to do alot of them. We can’t wait to actually make a few together and get him more comfortable in the kitchen!

Cooking with Kids by Brianne Grajkowski is a great cookbook to help introduce the joy of cooking to young kids. There are more than 100 yummy kid friendly recipes that the whole family can enjoy. The sections are nicely broken down to cover breakfast, lunch, main dishes, snacks and sides, desserts and beverages. Things I really like about this cookbook are:
• The recipes provide simple, step by step
instructions that use common ingredients.
• Each recipe has a colorful photo of the final
product (some recipes have multiple photos
that demonstrate multiple steps).
• icons are used to help gauge recipes that
may need more supervision (e.g. using
sharp blades or heat) and the recipe level
(e.g. easy, medium and hard).
• The beginning section has a recipe
conversion table, tips for getting started and
notes tools for little hands, common tools
and special tools (e.g. blender, skewers,
bamboo sushi mat) that will be needed for
making the recipes in the book.
• There is a detailed and well organized table
of contents

Cooking with kids is not only a fun family activity that builds memories, but is a simple way to teach creativity, build self confidence, practice skills around measurement, math, science and reading, and help lay a foundation for healthy eating habits. When kids are involved in meal planning/preparation, they are more likely to eat the final product!

Thank you to NetGalley and Fox Chapel Publishing for the opportunity to view an ARC of this fantastic cookbook that is due to be published 01-Feb-2023. I look forward to ordering several copies for my kids and grandkids (even a copy for myself).

Cooking with Kids had some recipes that seemed a little basic to me, especially the ones for breakfast. Also, I wasn't sure why some recipes included Spam. It's not something I would choose to cook with. Out of all the options in this book I would say the most interesting looking are probably the desserts.
I received a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, and all opinions are my own.

If you're a family that likes to cook together, this is the perfect book for you and your littles. It has a wide variety of recipes from super easy to a little more advanced where you might have to step in a bit. It's a great way to get kids interested in cooking and who knows, it could be a life-long hobby for them as it was for me when I was a kid!

Such a fun book! My kids; ages 12, almost 4 and 2 love to help bake! I’m sure my 5 month old will too! I definitely will be purchasing a copy of this to keep in our kitchen…my 4 year old says “let’s make ALLLL the recipes to try mommy!”

Cooking with kids seems like a nice book to offer adults some inspiration on meals that kids would enjoy. Personally I didn't find anything very unique and a lot of the options were a bit too processed for my taste - lots of sausage, salami etc. We're often trying to find ways to incorporate healthier choices for our little ones.

It's very good food book for involving children in cooking. It has very easy steps and some mouth- watering pictures.
Definitely gonna try some of these recipes!!!

Thank you Netgalley and publisher for the arc of Cooking with Kids.

Have a child in your life that enjoys being in the kitchen? Cooking with Kids by Brianne Grajkowski has a mix of very easy beginner recipes with no real "cooking" needed (such as Fresh Start Yogurt and Berries and Fruit Cups) to more advanced recipes (such as Cojita Corn requiring cutting corn kernels off the cob) and cooking techniques such as using a grill. So, it seems ideal for a family with children of a variety of ages and kitchen skills. Sometimes the instructions seem a little too sparse, especially for a beginner, and the child may need additional instructions from a supervising adult. But the recipes are tagged with labels easy, medium or hard so you can easily find a recipe that is a good fit for your child's cooking skill level. Cooking reinforces reading and math skills and importance of following directions and is an important life skill.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I went through the book with my nephew and we chose three different recipes to try out for the day. We started with the Scrambled Egg Bar and had a good time choosing toppings and figuring out different combinations to find our personal favorites. At lunch we made the Roll-Ups which were simple and easy to make not to mention tasty. At supper time we decided on the Chili and it was a hit when it was finished. There were tons of recipes to choose from and quite a few things that my nephew loves but the recipes were different from what he has had. We look forward to coming back to this book time again so we can try out more simple and fun recipes like the fresh Dill Pickls, a favorite of.both of ours. This was a wonderfully put together cookbook and I had a blast making several recipes with my nephew.

Brianne makes teaching kids how to cook fun. I loved this book! Especially loved the sections on suggested tools and tips to help make cutting and cooking easier for kids.

The recipes aren't just "kid" recipes, but ones that the whole family will enjoy. That was refreshing to see. I can see my own kids thumbing through this book and picking out new ones to try on their own.

Brianne's love of cooking and teaching her kids shines through in this book, and it's hard not to get swept up in the joy of cooking together as a family.

This book needs to be a part of every household that has kids.

Five stars!

Cooking with kids is a great source to involve kids in the kitchen. The recipes are all a simple way to introduce them to cooking--they're straightforward and easy to follow and are for the most part quite basic (a must if you have picky eaters!). Beautiful photography of the end products as well.

Thanks very much to the publisher for providing a copy of this book to review through NetGalley.

Hi everyone!
Thank you netgalley and Fox Chapel Publishing for this arc!

This book is absolutely perfect!
It's very colourful with beautiful pictures, great layouts and graphics.
The recipes are easy to follow and have the right amount of ingredients to make everything simple, but yet tasty.

I'm a picky eater and I usually have to take stuff out of recipes, but I think that in this book there isn't one thing I would like.
Obviously this is book targeted to families, so it does have tips on how to do everything, but I think it would also be great for new cooks.

I will say that 80% of the recipes are very famous, bu it actually features a great selection of sweets and also features sushi and other recipes from Asia, Italy and Mexico.

I would buy this book even if I don't have kids, the bright images really motivate you and the recipes aren't complicated and they don't take too much time.

Beautiful pictures. Yummy recipes that any kid would enjoy. Clear, well written instructions that were easy for a grades school age child to read. I loved the picture keys used to show what would be needed and the level of difficulty. I can’t wait to cook some of these recipes with my kids!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for this ARC. I have an older son with autism and likes to cook. I try to provide simplified recipes for him that he can follow, along with my help. The step-by-step photos are especially helpful as he's very visual. I found this to be a much better cookbook than most that I come across for kids, as they usually don't consist of recipes but rather foods you assemble. If you have young children interested in cooking I would recommend this cookbook!

This is every little one’s dream (although the clean up maybe not so much the adults). The great thing about this cookbook is that while the recipes are based on the enjoyment and experience of kids, all of the recipes are things that both the adults and the kids at the table will enjoy. I love that this one also comes with an “All the Fun Drinks” section, so that when the adults need a strong drink after attempting to get their children to follow instructions, the kids won’t feel left out, and can enjoy a nice Strawberry Lemonade, Orange Float, Pineapple Whip, etc. Bonus: a lot of these lunches are also very easy to do for a packed school lunch. Special shoutouts and honorable mentions go to: Best Ever Banana Bread, Strawberry and Nutella Pancakes (be prepared for a sugar high), the Scrambled Egg Bar, Hawaiian Waffles, Sweet Potato Bites, PB Bana Bites, Peanut Butter Power Balls (if you tell the little guys the word power is in the recipe name – they will devour it), Friday Night Popcorn, Mini Sloppy Joes, Star Spangled Cookies for your Fourth of July fun, Blueberries & Cream Galettes, and more!

Yup! A great cookbook for kids(side eye).
TBH I think this is a great recipe cookbook for any beginner that is learning to navigate their way in the kitchen. There was a bunch of pictures and it was very interactive. Easy recipes for anyone to try. It would serve as a perfect first cookbook for a kid but also as a great gift for someone that is learning to cook, like a teenager or new college student.

I made three things from this cookbook with my son. A drink, a dessert, and a main dish. They were easy to follow, and delicious, and we had a lot of fun cooking together.
