A great cookbook for everyone. There are a huge number of recipes but don't let that srop you from reading this one as there are some great recipes and great food featured in this cookbook.

Not only are there meal recipes but also recipes for seasonings which I love as the packet seasonings you buy in store are so high in salt that I prefer to make them myself. The recipes are easy to follow and sound very tasty, anyone can make great food, healthy food and fun food from this book.

With very few photos for some this might be a negative but I don't mind as I tend to look at the ingredients in a recipe and base my cooking decisions on what is in the recipe and how easy it is to make and shop for these meals.

A great book and one that is good for everyone, for meals that can be eaten by the whole family.

Lots of great — and healthy — recipes in this book! I definitely enjoyed perusing it and will surely try out some of them soon. I do miss pictures, though, and am sorry that this has none.

This was an enjoyable read but it was slightly frustrating that it wasn’t kindle compatible.

I think A physical copy would be the perfect accompaniment to any kitchen !

Thoughts: This is one of the better cookbooks I’ve seen recently as far a recipes go. There are a lot of them: 500! They are based on the Mediterranean and DASH (MIND) diets which means they lean toward lots of fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. What I really liked was the chapter on making your own seasonings and blends so you’re not depending on salt-laden ones you find in the stores. The only drawback for me was the lack of gluten free options for some of the grain based foods. There were also very few pictures of finished products. Granted, this isn’t necessary. I’ve got shelves of cookbooks that don’t have them, but they are nice to break up the wording. Each recipe contains the number of servings, ingredients, directions, notes, and nutrient information which is more important to me than pictures and GF options.

Recommendation: If you’re looking for a straight-forward recipe book to help you toward a healthier lifestyle, this one will do it. Recommended.

I really love the opening section of this book that provided the education needed for someone to Cook For Your Heart. The pages and information and graphics were super helpful about how to build a healthy plate. It also did a nice job of breaking down all the various "healthy" and not healthy options in various food categories. I especially enjoyed the breakdown of the types of fat. I do wish there were more pictures attached with the recipes as I am a visual person and we all know we eat with our eyes.

Thank you The Experiment publisher and NetGalley for the advanced electronic review copy of this great book. This book is full of practical suggestions and recipes based on the combination of Mediterranean and DASH diets (MASH). The section in the beginning of the book explains the benefits of such diet on the overall health. Following that are recipes broken up by the type of food and ingredient (ex. appetizers, desserts, salads, beef, chicken & turkey, seafood, etc). It is a great guide for a new cook as well as a more experienced one. The only minus is the lack of pictures of the completed dishes besides a few at the start of each new chapter. Overall, it is a great book to have for anyone who would like to live healthier and doesn’t know where to start. My rating is 3.5 ⭐️ rounded up to 4.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

My biggest complaint about this recipe book is there are no pictures - I like to be able to see what the recipe would look like and get an idea of what looks appealing and that's not an option with this book.

That being said there are a lot of recipes. The book talks a bit about heart health and alternatives to eat flavorful food while minding things like cholesterol. There's recipes for all meals including desserts and snacks. The book focuses on choosing ingredients intentionally instead of depriving yourself of certain foods.

While it's not my favorite recipe book, I can see why others might enjoy this hefty read.
