Firstly, thank you so much to @NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Lucinda Berry is one of my favorite authors, and this book definitely didn’t disappoint!! Off The Deep End is a story about a woman named Jules who experiences a horrible tragedy, and a woman named Amber who is going through something horrible as well. Their lives become intertwined unwillingly, and the way that this story played out had me shocked! I wasn’t expecting that ending at all, and I have to say that I really enjoyed this book a lot. 4/5 ⭐️s.

Another great thriller! If you like twisty turn thrillers, this is the book for you. Highly recommend

So this book is certainly off the deep end like many of the characters in it! There is A LOT going on here and trigger warnings or suicide, sexual abuse and violence seem very appropriate. Jules, her son and family friend were in and accident and when Jules son dies and Isaac survives both she and Isaac have a tremendous amount of survivors guilt. They both have seemingly lost the will to live and are clinging to each other. From there things get strange and certainly not for the faint of heart but they psychological information, from the point of an expert like the author, is very interesting. The changes in personality than can be caused by traumatic brain injury and how loss and grief can cause physical pain. It was certainly a dark but interesting read.

How to start this review…I cannot say this story went in the direction I was thinking.

First off I really did not relate to or took state in any of the people in this book. All the adults were keeping secrets from each other and some of the actions I believe were not needed or gave anything to the story. Jules was a psycho and did not see her intentions but left you feeling creeped out at her actions. Amber as much as I wanted to sympathize with her and truly believe she wanted her son back it felt she was grasping at anything including reason.

I just don’t feel this was the best thriller for me as the ending I thought was totally crazy and didn’t feel so thriller like.

This book!!! The twists and turns in this book were so good I sat down to read it and didn’t stop till it was over. Just when you think it’s going one way something changes. Reading everything by this author from now on!

This was extremely good! Well written and such a wild ride at the end, I expected none of it.

The beginning dives right in (literally). And has your grip throughout the rest of the book.

I did find the mother's in the story a little overbearing. But I mean, if I was in the situations they were in, I probably would be too.

Off the Deep End by Lucinda Berry is about a therapist turned stay-at-home mom. Jules Hart’s idyllic suburban life shatters when she crashes her car into an icy lake. Her son and another teenage boy plunge into the water with her, but Jules can only manage to save one—the wrong one.

This book had lots of surprises and twists, some cringe-worthy. Overall, a good Lucinda Berry book. I would recommend this author and this book.

I would rate Off the Deep End a 4 out of 5 stars.

Lucinda Berry doesn’t disappoint
This book was a wild ride and the twists and turns kept coming

The story goes between two moms Amber and Jules. Both are a little unreliable so you never know what is coming next

Highly recommend!

Lucinda Berry is a former psychologist and writes amazing psychological thrillers!

Off the Deep End features Jules Hart - a stay at home mom who was forced to make a choice when her car is thrown into an icy lake. WIth only seconds to make a decision, she reaches for one of the two boys in her car, and it was not her son!

While she deals with the aftermath of the death of her son, the boy was saved, Isaac disappears. Was he taken by a serial killer? Is he fleeing from bullies? Where did he go and is Jules at the center of it all?

A crazy, hold on to your seat thriller - if you love a psychological thriller, a real life situation that you can imagine, or just a story, Off the Deep End is For You #LucindaBerry

Lucinda Berry is one of my go-to authors. She always has a good story to tell.
Jules is driving home from a sports game with her teenage son Gabe, and a neighbor boy Isaac, when a deer runs into the road, they swerve on black ice, and the car plunges into a lake. Jules and Isaac survive, and Gabe does not. The story begins several months later, when Isaac goes missing. The book is a dark psychological page-turner. Recommended.

Jules is driving her son and his friend Isaac home when she crashes her car into an icy lake. She manages to save Isaac, but her son drowns in the lake. Jules goes into a deep depression, and ten months later, with her life spiraling out of control. Isaac goes missing, and Jules becomes the center of the investigation. Off The Deep End is a taut, emotionally charged thriller that dives deep into Jules’ psyche, as well as the impact of her actions on Isaac and his family. The plot immediately grabs you, ultimately going in a direction you won’t see coming as the story unfolds through the interviews with Jules and her therapist, and the frantic efforts of Issac’s family and the police to find Isaac. Totally addictive, you’ll want to finish this in one sitting. Outstanding! I received an arc of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a crazy ride, to be sure. Just when you thought a character couldn’t get crazier, boom! I consistently underestimated the arc of the story and I am thrilled that it surpassed my expectations.
Jules loses her son in a horrible accident and she slowly spirals out of control, her sanity unraveling. Meanwhile, her son’s friend goes missing. Coincidence? This plot is complex, but threads the events together almost seamlessly. The ending was a bit weird, which is why it lost 1/2 a star.
Excellent book! Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas and Mercer for the advanced copy for my honest review.

This book was a freaking wild ride! After reading (and loving) The Perfect Child, I was expecting Lucinda to have me guessing and holding my breath!

A child who dies, a child who goes missing, a serial killer on the loose, a mentally unstable mother, a family with secrets... holy guacamole... go and read it as soon as it's released!

It started off a little slow, but when it got going, it got going! I freaking loved it and did not want to put it down!

Off the Deep End releases on January 10th, you don't want to miss it!

Big thanks to NetGalley for giving me the ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

I've read several other novels by this author, so I was eager to dive in, and it didn't disappoint. The author tells a good story, and is clearly knowledgeable about therapy and child development to make things realistic.

I was invested in the story, and it took a few clever turns. Recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

"Off the Deep End" is a great, twisted psychological thriller! Told in alternating perspectives of two moms who are affected by tragedy, this is a fast-paced, engaging story that I didn't want to put down. Without giving too much away, this is a story of two families were affected by a death of one child and the disappearance of another. I honestly didn't guess the plot twist towards the end. I would highly recommend this book and would definitely read others by Lucinda Berry!

Jules gets into a terrible accident with her son, Gabe and a neighbors child, Isaac. Jules life unravels after she loses Gabe. All the while, Isaacs household is dealing with his survival. He goes into a depression and its tearing his parents, Amber and Mark, apart seeing him so out of sorts. He ends up going missing. Amber is convinced it was Jules, but Jules is adamant she had nothing to do with it. We go along for the ride as they try to find Isaac before it's too late.

I buddy read this with some friends and I really enjoyed the ride. I did not see a lot of the twists coming and it held my attention. The first bit was a little slow, and honestly both mothers in this got on my nerves. But once it picked up, I couldn't stop! We all finished the book early cause we had to know the ending.

I'd recommend checking trigger warnings, this does have a pretty heavy topic involved.

Another Lucinda Berry book that I just have flown through! This was a group buddy read and we all finished early because we couldn't stop reading.

It was twisty and unexpected, suspenseful and full of mystery. Lucinda is fabulous at creating villians and building all of her characters.

This was a quick read that is guaranteed to give you some open mouth moments and feelings of confusion, anger, heart ache and more.

What a great book!

Thank you Netgalley and Lucinda Berry for the ARC of this book which is released next year in 2023.

4.5 star rounded up!

This was insanely good, but obviously, Lucinda berry doesn’t miss. The book started off a bit slow for me but then it picked up and didn’t let off the gas. There was a scene towards the end that I was straight up not breathing. 🫣 it kept me on my toes and threw in some real life scenarios that are unfortunately very common. Definitely recommend checking trigger warnings or just reach out to me and I’ll tell ya! Go read this! It comes out January 10, 2023! Thank you #netgalley #offthedeepend and Lucinda berry for a killer book! 🔪
