What a beautiful way to introduce children to important people in science— we love Little People, Big Dreams books. Nikola Tesla is the one book my husband wanted to read with my kids! The conversations and experiments this book *sparked* were so beautiful. Even I learned a few things— all of his ideas started with his cat, I never would have expected that!

Thank you so much NetGally, and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for this preview!

Nikola Tesla is about the inventor and scientist Nikola Tesla. We follow him through his early years as a child and inspiring inventor to him as an adult and his inventions being brought to real life.

Another great read about one of the most famous scientists Nikola Tesla. Books like this inspires young readers to follow their dreams and I’m here for that. With beautiful illustrations the text becomes more alive and fun to read.

Another great addition to the Little People, Big Dreams series! My daughter loved reading this with me and learning more about electricity and the man who helped bring it into our lives. She was especially amazed by the last pages where she could see what his alternating current has brought into our modern lives; things like batteries, drones, solar panels and lights really shocked her. The illustrations are beautiful and we cannot wait to add this to our home library when it is released!

Thank you Netgalley and Little People, BIG DREAMS for allowing me to read this ARC.

Nikola Tesla is someone who I have heard of and know very little about, I enjoy how this books tells the most simplified version of his brilliance in a way that children can understand.
I had no idea that he loved of pigeons, he created his first motor at the age of 6.
Due to his amazing contribution to electricity and designing the electric system, that we all use across the world today Tesla named their company and cars after him.

We really love these series of books they bring real light to the subjects and then make girls like to read around the subjects themselves at their leisure. We have a library of these and dip
In and out of them at our leisure.
They are really informative and well written.

I knew that this was going to be the next book in this series and I was really anticipating it, so I was very excited to see this title on Netgalley! I think this is probably one of the more complex stories in this stories, as iy teaches readers about some basic scientific ideas. That's not to say that this isn't still absolutely perfect for its target audience of younger readers, because it definitely is. It combines this science with the familiar magical story telling and illustrations, and I actually learned a lot from this book too as an adult reader. I really recommend reading this book with a young person in your life!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced ebook copy of this title!

I enjoyed finding out more about Nikola Tesla and will use this information when teaching electricity in school.

The Little People BIG DREAMS collection has brought us another wonderful historic figure to add to its growing collection.

Nikola Tesla is someone who I have always found immensely interesting, and I enjoy how this books tells the most simplified version of his brilliance in a way that children can understand. I thoroughly enjoyed the illustrations as well, I will just say I wish they would've gone into more detail about his love of pigeons.

Thank you always to Netgalley and The Quarto Group for early access to this book in exchange for a honest review.

With thanks to the author, publishers Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books, and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

This is another fantastic instalment in the Little People Big Dreams series, which is fast becoming one of my favourites!

The story tells how Tesla was introduced to electricity at an early age and how, even as a young boy, his mind was always coming up with new inventions and ideas on how to improve the world. This continued into adulthood for him with his invention of AC electricity, which went on to change the world.

The illustrations in the book are excellent as always with this series, and I particularly loved how the young Tesla was depicted among kids of a similar age but in modern times who are all using technology based on inventions that he made. The mini-biography of Tesla (complete with a timeline) at the end of the book is a great resource for young readers to cement the facts learned in the book.

Little People, BIG DREAMS is one of my favorite series! It's very popular at our library, and I truly enjoyed reading about Nikola Tesla. I learned so many new facts about him. For example, I didn't know that Nicola quit his job with Edison after six months because of their AC/DC disagreement.

Plus, the illustrations are absolutely adorable! Love it. Especially, the inclusion of cats.

Nikola Tesla, from the series Little People, Big Dreams, is filled with illustrations that are so clever, we had such a great time finding Macak throughout the story of Nikola Tesla. A learning experience for all adults and small children, that's why I love the series Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara has created. All I heard the following day after reading was about the 160,000 light bulbs, which show the impact these stories have on children.

The latest instalment of the incredibly popular 'Little People, BIG DREAMS' series of books features Serbian inventor and engineer Nikola Tesla, who is responsible for some of our most influential and widely used inventions, like AC Power and the Tesla coil. He's one of the most fascinating historical characters I've ever read about.

My children loved this story of how Nikola learned about electricity via his beloved pet cat! The illustrations for this one are also gorgeous.

A fascinating person.

Thank you to Quarto publishing for the Netgalley approval.
I will buy this to add to our physical collection upon its release in September.

Lovely little book about Nikola Tesla, the often-unsung inventor of AC electricity (and rival of Thomas Edison). Kids will be delighted to meet this ardent inventor who even dreamed of the internet and renewable energy decades before they became a reality! The timeline with real photographs and more specific details at the end is useful as well, especially for parents and teachers.

Well that was An AMAZING BOOK. I definitely will buy this book for My cousin.

Nikola arguably the best inventor in the history of the world. His idea to bring electricity to everyone was an amazing idea.

Nikola Tesla joins the hugely successful Little People Big Dreams books and it's a great union.
Nikola Tesla was an inventor and scientist and many of his discoveries and inventions are ones we still use today.

Tesla worked with Edison and was fascinated with electricity. Edison is credited with discovering electric power generation and Tesla discovered alternating current.
In the Little People, Big Dreams series, although it is aimed at children, it is often the adults that learn something new when they are reading these books too.
The illustrations by Alexander Mostov are a wonderful addition and really bring the text to life.

Another excellent, biographical picture book from the Little people, Big dream series. Focusing this time on the history of inventor Nikola Tesla, the attractive illustrations and well structured text are sure to fascinate young readers aged 4+
Like others in the series this would work well as a read aloud with young children but would also be a useful independent research resource for older readers aged 7-11 especially as it offers additional information & suggests further reading material at the end of the book. It would make a great addition to any primary classroom library!
Thanks to NetGalley.co.uk and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the free eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

My children adored this book! The illustrations are engaging and support the text well, with fun details to explore. The story of Nikola Tesla was well told and made us want to learn more about both electricity and Nikola himself. It inspired my children that their ideas matter, and that their creativity can make a difference in the world.

I got this Little People Big Dreams book for my seven year old daughter who loves them. This one was no different. A great fun and educational account of Nikola Tesla life presented in a nice way for children to read with nice illustrations. As an adult I also love to read them, and always learn something new at the same time. Definitely recommend!

Nikola Tesla was a child born in 1882 with imagination, intelligence, and a love of science. His cat, Macau is his best friend. He notices when he pets him that sparks and crackling come off his fur. He learns this is electricity. After this, he wants to learn all he can about how electricity works. He also loves to design machines and devices. At just six years old he creates his first motor.

This becomes his passion. When he is in college, electric lights have not been designed yet. Electricity is developed by Thomas Edison, but it needs a way to travel farther distances. Nikola is the one who invents something called Alternate Current. He is able to use 160,000 lights that are able to light up all of Chicago. He dazzles everyone with an experiment that transmits electricity that travels through his body safely.

He also works on gadgets we still use today such as the remote control. He was always curious and trying to figure out new objects that could be useful. He imagines one day that messages and pictures will be sent wirelessly. This was quite a thing to say at the time.

I learned so much from reading about Nikola Tesla. I had not even heard of him before and was fascinated about his life. For a future dreamer who loves to think of new ideas and make machines, Nikola will be a true inspiration. He shows that things that seem impossible are possible. If you are ingenious and keep working at your ideas, anything can be possible. Dreams can literally light up the world.

Thank you NetGalley, Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for granting me this book. I am always happy to leave a review.
