A huuuuuuuuge amount of detail and love went into this lovely illustrated summary of Nikola Tesla's life, everyone's most beloved inventor. I dare say this is one of the most aesthetically pleasing volumes of this children's non-fiction series! Mentally high-fiving the artist behind it.

I don’t remember really learning anything about Nikola Tesla in school so this book peaked my interest. The story is informative and I really enjoyed it. I love the blue theme of the illustrations throughout the book. Another great book added to the Little People, Big Dreams series.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

The ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The ‘My First Little People, Big Dreams’ series provides informative and inspirational biographies about people who left a mark on this earth, no matter what difficulties they have encountered.
These stories are very short, but that’s because they’re books for children, so it’s totally understandable.
I think they are a very smart and wonderful way to introduce little children to such important figures.
Here's the story of Nikola Tesla, the scientist, and inventor whose groundbreaking inventions we still use nowadays. He truly was a genius and his inventions are just incredible!

Obsessing over the Little People, Big Dreams books! What a wonderful addition to the set with Nikola Tesla. It is fascinating reading how Tesla came from such humble roots, creating electricity experiments at home, to making such an amazing difference in the world! There are short paragraphs on each page, easily accessible for younger readers , as well as being easy to understand for children being read to by a guardian. The illustrations are as wonderful as we expect from this series: full of glorious colour and bold prints, telling a visual story that matches the words. I learn alongside the children with these wonderful reads. Tesla's story was captivating. Publication 6 September 2022 #littlepeoplebigdreams #NikolaTesla #Negalley #mariaisabelsanchezvegara

Nikola Tesla was a Serbian inventor and scientist. While many cities and places were named after this famous scientist, possibly the most known company that keeps his namesake is Tesla, Inc. Growing up in Serbia, Tesla preferred becoming an inventor to following his father’s footsteps of a priesthood. Tesla didn’t only create the technology that harvested power over long distances, his patents and ideas are a basis for numerous technologies we use today. It’s great that kids can finally learn about Tesla, his inventions, and amazing legacy.

I am a big fan of the Little People, Big Dreams series so I was really excited to see this new book about Nikola Tesla! We start off with a young Tesla who is inspired to study electricity after experiencing sparks and crackling while petting his beloved cat, Macak, during a storm. We then follow Tesla on his journey of ups and downs as an inventor and witness how his dreams affect us even now!

i always love how these Little People, Big Dreams books start so young. What a great reminder to young children that their dreams that they might have now can determine the rest of their lives! Thank you NetGalley and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

This is a other wonderful book in the series. I love how the book simply tells the biography and then expands at the back of the book. Good start for young readers.

How ironic that Nikola Tesla, the little Serbian boy who grew up and studied electricity, was born during a lightning storm!

Children will read about this inquisitive little boy whose dreams began by watching what happened when he stroked his beloved cat’s fur. His mother fostered his curiosity and helped him with all sorts of science experiments at home. Soon his dream was so big…he wanted every home to have electricity.

This would be a good place to stop reading and discuss with little people what their life would be like without electricity! Things we take for granted today were just a dream at one time.

When children continue reading, they’ll find out other great influences in Nikola’s life and how exciting it was for him to see his dream become a reality. Adults can add to this story by challenging older siblings/students to discover why Tesla’s name is associated with an increasingly popular car brand today.

Both adults and children can learn an important lesson from this story.

Children will love the beautiful illustrations by Alexander Mostov. He’s packed each page with so many things to capture a little person’s eyes. The author has written an engaging story and included photos and a timeline to further add to learning about this incredible inventor.

I was gifted this advance copy by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, Frances Lincoln Children’s Books, Quarto Publishing Group, and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.

This series is always a joy to read, it’s a really nice introduction to well known people for little children. Of course the plot is always a little bit fast but that’s to be expected and it’s totally understandable.
This one here is about Nikola Tesla, an inventor and engineer to whom we owe so much of the things we take for granted today. I'm sure everyone would enjoy reading about the person who got such amazing ideas that really change the world we live in.

A brilliant tale about the power of imagination and invention - the only thing that got me was knowing that in reality the cat wouldn't have lived that long! :'(

It's good to see the famed electrical wizard, inventor, David Bowie lookalike and – most importantly of all – OMD inspiration in this series. It seems the man was keen on knocking up his own creations and gadgets at a very young age, and so his use in this series for inspiring youngsters can only do good. For once the illustrations aren't too bad, even if they do like the fact he had a cat, and the pocket-sized autobiography is just fine for the target audience. After seeing some risibly woke entries, this is a welcome early STEM history read from this franchise.
