Dang, these were some conniving and lying and guilty people. NOT just the women, although those are the ones that got caught and ultimately paid the price. As per usual, the dudes behind the scenes pulling strings and driving the women crazy got off scot-free. This was a great ride but these people were seriously TOXIC! And I was here for it. I am definitely adding Melanie Blake's books to my TBR!

I don't really do audibooks but thought I would try with this one. WOW that was hard. Ive learned that if the book isn't gripping me from the beginning I am definitely not going to be able to follow. I attempted to read this book and didn't interest me one bit. Soap opera feels big time.

This is the second book of the series - I have not read the first book, but it was not necessary to get invested in this story and its characters. The character development of the four central women is comprehensive and allows you to immerse yourself in their lives for a while. The mix of TV Soap Operas (think Falcon Crest and Dynasty) and behind the scenes drama will appeal to fans of The Real Housewives and similar reality shows as well. The narration was excellent and kept me interested.

This is a soap opera full of drama and secrets. If that is what you are looking for this is the book for you. I wouldn't classify this as a thriller, but more of a soapy drama. The narration helped bring the story to life and also helped keep the many characters clear. Thank you Net Galley for my audiobook.

If you enjoy soap operas and lots of drama this is the book for you! There are many characters in this story, some you like, some you hate. The mystery in this story was entertaining and I overall thought this was a good book.

I did listen to this, so not sure why I never reviewed.

Since I started watching Days of Our Lives before I even started school LOL, you could say I'm a fan of soap operas.

In true soap fashion, these women had some secrets! They will do whatever it takes to keep those ratings up and keep their secrets from coming out. How long can they get away with it is the question?

Narration was good. And I was invested wondering how long before everything blew up!

The cover and description of this book hooked me in, but it was too slow for me. The characters were dramatic, which was entertaining, but none of them or their story lines held my attention. It took me a long time to finish this one.

I read this after enjoying the prequel, "Ruthless Women". While still having the soap-opera worthy plots that made the off-screen activity as dramatic as the on-screen storylines, this book felt a little more cliched and tired than the first.

The book follows on from the events of the Christmas Day live-broadcast in the first book, still focusing on the ladies in the first, and showing what happens when the baddies of the first re-appear, in true soap opera style.

While not as good as the first book, I did still enjoy the audiobook, which was trashy and raunchy - an ideal beach listen.

Not my usual genre but enjoyable for summer as a beach read for trashy escapism, this is recommended for fans of tv shows like "footballers wives".

Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for sharing the audiobook with me.

Oh, what an absolute delight of a novel! Claire King's reading is just the icing on the cake. The characters and the plot twists are just exquisite and this is the perfect beach read!

Full disclosure: I got a fee ARC in exchange for an unbiased review. Thanks to the publisher and the author.

I LOVED the premise of this book. It was very unique and really kept my interest. I was nervous going into it because right out of the gate there were a lot of names and characters to keep track of. The author/narrator did a great job of keeping everyone square for the reader/listener.

I really liked this book! I found it to be a great thriller that kept me guessing the whole time. I never really thought I knew the ending, and I was definitely surprised! You won’t be disappointed!

I enjoyed this while riding in the the car. 13 hours of a soap opera is pretty entertaining! Things got pretty intense at time. Had some smutty scenes.

Enjoyment: 2
Total rating: 2.64
Deduction: 2.5 for harmful representation and unnecessary victimizing passages.

I apologize in advance for what might be my harshest review yet. I will start with the positives. Much like the first book in the series, Guilty Women defines guilty pleasure. It's an over-the-top soapy, smutty Jerry Springer-like, popcorn-worthy cluster mess.

Claire King's narration is terrific and, quite frankly, one of the only two reasons I finished this book. The second reason is that I received a copy of Guilty Women's audiobook in exchange for an honest review and wanted to give it a fair shot.

Now to what I have an issue with it - I went in expecting this to push envelopes, thread the line of harmful rep and politically incorrectness and bring endless sex scenes I will just have to skim over until I get back to the plot. I came into this book ready to rate it without considering any of it. Quite frankly, the unfair treatment of a character is what turned me right off this book and disgusted me.

Rant done. I'll finish with another positive - taking away all the problematic scenes, the mystery plot itself was entertaining.

This author is talented but I’m just not a fan of her books. I read this second book by her after not enjoying the first one I read. I don’t like to determine if I like an author based on one book. But this book also wasn’t my thing. This book, like her other one, is a soap opera book with wealthy unlikeable characters. It is well written and the characters are well developed and you feel like you know the awful people in the story. If you are a fan of soap operas, I highly recommend this book as well as other books by this author. I gave 5 stars to this book, as my only real issue is that I don’t have a personal preference for the topic of the book.

If you’re into soap operas and love the dynamic drama, this is a great read! I didn’t realize it was a sequel, but I had no problems jumping in!

Jumped into the audiobook version of the book thanks to Netgalley. I didn't realize until now that it was part of a trilogy. The author did a wonderful job tying in the previous story, I don't feel I missed out on anything. I will definitely be adding the author to my watch list. The story has murder, vengeance, deception, allegiance and devotion among friends exploding with every word.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This book had a lot of players that made it challenging to follow at points, but overall the plot was interesting and twisted. This was a totally soap opera for sure and was very reminisce of Days of Our Lives.

Ooooh I felt soooo back in the 80’s listening to Guilty Women by Melanie Blake, sooooo Dynast/Knots Landing/Falcon Crest combined! Such drama but this author puts a modern day twist on these female characters and I loved it! Blake makes these women stand out!
My bad for being unaware that this was a SEQUEL-SHAME ON ME! I will be reading backwards as I race to find the first novel, Ruthless Women. I was a bit confused for the first chapter until it hit me, DUH Kim, it’s a sequel, it quickly came together and I was totally engrossed!
I found this author didn’t just “throw” together one dimensional characters to create an ensemble “cast”, she actually created some depth to these women while still maintaining spice, intrigue, and a sense of humor to boot!
I loved the suspense, still artfully contrived , once I figured out who was whom.

There's no better way to describe this than a soap opera within the set of a soap opera. Set amongst a beautiful fictional island, a long running soap opera (think dynasty-esque) is set to begin production again after a horrible loss during a live taping on Christmas involving a real life shark, not CGI. The cast and characters are reeling from the day their lives changed forever as the set, the ownership and the leadership was altered.

Following several female cast members, some of which have dedicated 30 or 40 decades to the show, "Guilty Women" is a portrayal of female drama, friendships and Hollywood life. Feeling somewhat lost in the relationships, number of cast, crew and characters and a history I was clearly missing chunks of, this felt like a daytime soap opera all in itself.

I tried to like this book, I really promise I did. But it was SO SLOW for a thriller. Lots of characters, none of whom are really introduced properly. I didn't feel connected to any of the customers. I wasn't invested in finding out the answers and by the time I did, I was no longer remotely interested.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.
