As this is a book of poetry, it's quite a quick read - but it is far from easy. This book has poems about identity, discovery, love, loss, hope, and strength. It is a very honest poetry book and really gives an insight into the poet's mind. The poems are beautifully written and I think it takes a lot of bravery for someone to lay themselves bare on a page through words like this poet has. I think if you're someone who thinks 'poetry is not for you', then this is a good book to start with, as it is not one long continuous poem or story, but rather broken up into lots of small and individual poems. Some of them really hit close to home and tugged on my heartstrings for me as well - such as 'If I Knew' and 'Promise of Love'.

I would say if you do pick this book up, beware of some of the content of the poems as they can be a bit triggering, as they cover suicide, suicidal thoughts, bipolar and depression in a really honest and raw way.
