The very first page already intrigued me and I was very interested to know what would happen next. The main character needed to start a new life, so she moved to another city to completely change the situation. Her new life begins to fill with secrets that could destroy everything around her. It is a very good start for a thriller.
I really liked the author's style. I think that it was a slow-burn narrative because the action does not speed up but it is slowly sneaking and showing you more and more details. You can read this book in less than a day. Sometimes it's very important to me. With each page you plunge into the story deeper and deeper and more and more secrets are revealed. It was definitely a good entertaining read which is a great young adult reading and I can recommend it.

I really liked the writing-slow burn with a creepy vibe throughout. I liked the main characters and the romance that had a little bit of a dangerous edge to it. Overall enjoyable and I’ll be thinking about it for a while.

Thanks to Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS for an eARC

Missing Dead Girls follows Tillie who is forced to move after her junior year. Madison soon becomes Tillie's friend and helps her forget about her past. Then Madison goes missing. A picture of Madison's bloody body shows up on Tillie's account. And soon secrets of Tillie's past start coming out and including the real reason she was forced to move.

*****Trigger Warning: Metions thems of sexual assult.******

I was really let down by this book. This one sounded like it was going to be so good and just wasn't. I felt like the pacing of this book was very slow. It was supposed to be a thriller but 80% of the book focused on the relationship between Tillie and Madison. While the relationship between them was really cute, I thought I was reading a thriller book not a romance book. The thriller aspects of the book were good but there were not enough of them. Also, I found myself kind of wondering what was the point of this whole book. Like I said this was a let down for me, I do not think I would suggest this one.

Thank you Netgalley, sourcebooks fire, and Sara Walters for the ARC of this book.

It wasn't Tillie's choice to leave Philadelphia. But after everything that happened junior year, her mom insisted the quiet suburb of Willow Creek was the perfect place to get a fresh start, to put the trauma and rumors behind them.
Madison Frank is the perfect distraction. Beautiful, fun, and from the wealthy side of town, Madison is the kind of girl who has a pull stronger than gravity. She commands attention, even inspires obsession. And by the end of summer, Tillie's forgotten everything everyone she left in Philadelphia. Almost.

Then Madison goes missing. A photo of her bloody body is texted to the whole student body...from an account with Tillie's name on it. Tillie's caught in a tangled web of secrets that will destroy her if they surface...and will destroy everyone she loves if they don't.

Really enjoyable read totally recommend couldn’t put it down

I sat on this one for a bit after reading, wondering what to make of it. I feel as though I'm still wondering....

The book description is definitely an attention grabber, but was such a short part of the book.

I didn't particularly like Tillie or Madison, and don't know I could really empathize with their characters and actions. Had a tendency to keep asking, but why that extreme?

An interesting start to a book full of layers of deception and lies. The first chapter had me intrigued to see how this one would play out.
I am on the fence on how I feel about this book. On one hand, I was enticed to continue reading it to unfold all the layers. But at the same time the build up kind of fell to a flat outcome. I think I wanted more to the story! But let me go over the things, I did enjoy.

What I enjoyed:
- this book is definitely a slow burn. But i found it interesting enough to keep me reading
- LGBTQI+ representation! Our MC and her love interest are under the umbrella
- Our MC isn’t perfect at all. Or even pretending to be. I liked how her character had a dark side
- Beautifully written! I love this authors writing style
- Quick read. I was able to finish this in less than 24 hours

Overall, I enjoyed this read! This definitely is very much a YA style thriller/mystery. I was more into their romance story versus the thriller part. 3.5 stars out of 4! Thank you to Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was by no means a bad book, and is leagues ahead in the writing compared to Sara Walters’ The Violent Season. I did enjoy this, but I felt the thriller aspect was the weakest link, and that really broke the story for me because it was advertised as a thriller/horror novel with the mystery of Madison’s death being at the forefront of the synopsis. The novel spent more time developing the relationship between Tillie and Madison, which I appreciated, I enjoyed reading about their relationship and it’s toxicity a lot, that was probably the best part of the story. But personally I do not think this was as advertised, as the mystery wrapped up extremely quickly and then the story ended.

4.5 stars

This was such a fast and exciting read. This book reminded a lot of Do Revenge, but with murder. Madison and Tillie were both a little psychotic, and I love them for. The only complaint that I had was that the ending felt a little rushed, but it was a satisfying ending. The book had great critiques of the patriotic society we live in. I definitely recommend picking this book up once it gets released.

I enjoyed Missing Dead Girls. The story was a little slower paced than I’d like but still easy to follow. At first, I wasn’t a huge fan of Tillie because her character was harsh and abrasive. Once you learn more about her you empathize a little bit. The toxic friendship between Tillie and Madison is a strong dynamic for the story.

Thanks to Net Galley. I finished this book in 2 days, I couldn't put it down. Loved the main characters and how you learn more about each of them and how their thought process works. I will be checking out other books by this author now.

This had what I was looking for in a mystery book, I had enjoyed the way Sara Walters wrote this. It was a fast paced thriller and I was invested in what was going on in this. The characters worked in this universe and I really enjoyed the universe that was created. I can't wait to read more from Ms. Walters.

"I was already hurrying away, taking quick strides past the entrance to the dining room, disappearing from Madison’s—and everyone else’s—view. Once I was around the corner, I flattened my back against the wall, letting out a few quick, anxious breaths. I was right near one of the doors to the pool deck, and I tried to recalculate on the fly, mapping out an inconspicuous route back to the dining room in my head. My phone buzzed in my hand, three times in fast succession."

An obsessive friendship that ends with missing girl is the catalyst for this thriller. I enjoyed the main character and her ingenious sleuthing. A fun read!
