"Hidden Bones" by Rita Herron is the best book in the series yet! I couldn't put the book down from the first page to the last. This book had me on the edge of my seat, holding my breath throughout. The twist and turns and revelations kept coming, and each one was more shocking than the last. Herron is a master of suspense and mystery, and her writing keeps you guessing until the very end. The characters in this book are so well developed, and I found myself rooting for them the entire time. The storyline was gripping and kept me hooked from start to finish. Overall, "Hidden Bones" is an excellent read and one that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a thrilling mystery.

an abandoned house that was once a home for children, and supposedly haunted, has teens breaking in to see what they can find. When Mandy falls into a pit on the property while she and her friends are checking things out, the police become involved.
Now that Hawk House is back in the news, people who where working there start to die. Three workers for a dating service also start to show up murdered. Will Detective Ellie Reeves be able to solve both sets of murders and will she be able to find all the children who disappeared when the home closed.

Hidden Bones book 6 in the Ellie Reeves series is once again absolutely amazing!

With bones being discovered by her niece Maddy, she us first on the scene to try and find out what happened. With bones being there since she was a young and more being discovered Ellie is keen to find out what happened to the kids at the home where the bones were found.

I really enjoyed this book!! I hlove this entire series and this installment didn't let me down! Ellie is a kick add detective who is constantly trying to find the answers. Which for this case is good because there is so much going on and so many suspects honestly I had zero idea who it was throughout.

Highly recommend you picking up this series and giving it a read!! It's worth it I promise. Every single book is amazing!!! 5 stars.

Thanks Netgalley Rita Herron and Bookouture for the digital review copy of hidden bones in exchange for my fair and honest opinions.

Poor Ellie and her town! So many many murders revolving around Hawk House and Ellie’s upbringing. Super short chapters which is good and bad. I hate an hour long chapter but having a book with almost 200 chapters was a bit much. Cord is acting fishy at the end so excited to hear what’s happening in the next

As I started this book my initial thoughts were; ‘Bloody hell that was one hell of an opening chapter!’ It didn’t really let up throughout either. As we gather the background information needed I found myself thinking about that Prologue. It was so dark and gruesome I just knew this book was going to follow a similar pattern.

The storyline for this one was intricate and I really needed to be on the ball as I read through the various lines of questioning but at times felt lost. Not sure if I just misread or being a little poorly affected my concentration. Unfortunately this did impede my understanding if parts of the storyline, however this was nothing to do with the authors writing as that is exemplary, it was my lack of focus.

Following a previously featured character was also a nice touch as it meant we found out more back story from two of the characters. This brings the continued character development and storyline progression into the forefront which helped me connect with an unlikeable character.

Overall a fabulous book which kept me gripped, had a few unexpected twists and a bit of a cliffhanger for me to wait in until I read book 7.

I thought this was a great story. The sexual assault was depicted a little too real for me but that did not take away any of the thrills and chills of this dark mystery. Ellie Reeves is just a wonderfully realistic character. I couldn't help being swept up in this book. I thought it was splendid.

Thank you to Bookouture for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via Netgalley. This is the 6th book in the series however you can read this as a standalone.

Ellie has caught herself quite the case this time. It was dark, twisted and shocking. Ellie is as determined as ever to track down the killer.

I love that Rita writes such short chapters. It makes it easy to keep reading one more chapter, and then one more and then before you know it you have read through half the book.

The case is full of twists and shocking revelations. Rita

Hidden Bones by Rita Herron.
Detective Ellie Reeves Book 6.
The girl trips over branches, losing her footing. The darkness swallows her and she grabs thin air as she falls, her scream piercing the night. When she slams into the bottom of the pit, her heart hammers. She can’t believe what she’s seeing—a pile of perfect white bones.
Omg. Absolutely brilliant read. I love this series. 5*

The premise of this story is a cold case. However, the past now haunts the present as there is someone hellbent on ensuring that secrets remain buried. Old bones are discovered and then bodies start piling up with witnesses being silenced forever. Ellie and her team have to solve the old mysteries in order to catch up with the killer in the present time.

This was yet another gripping read. Detective Ellie has truly grown on me. As I have previously mentioned, I didn’t like her in the first installment but now, she is one of my faves. Her character development grows stronger with each new book and I enjoyed working on this case with her.

With lots of twists and turns, this was undoubtedly another belter. I can’t wait for the next installment.

I said in a review for a book from another series that basically the best review I could give a book was to continue reading the series. That holds true here, as well. I have read all the Ellie Reeves books to date and I will continue to do so. This one was just as good as the rest, although I didn't love the Indigenous stuff. Always here for a Trixie Belden fan, though.

The characters were amazing and the story was gripping.
This book is very dark and gritty but well told.
The suspense grabs you at every twist and turn.
Heart racing and jaw dropping.
This one is a must read

Hidden Bones by Rita Herron and this is the sixth book in the brilliant Detective Ellie Reeves series. This is one of my favourite series out there to get your teeth into! This book had me hooked from the beginning till the end and the ending was brilliant.

In the small town of Crooked Creek, where the Appalachian Mountains climb into the clouds, nineteen-year-old Mandy’s Spring Break takes a sinister turn. Detective Ellie Reeves races straight to the scene, driving through the winding roads to the abandoned orphanage. Ellie saves the teenage girl but discovers human remains that have been there for thirty years, ever since the home for children closed down. Her heart shatters at the thought that they might belong to the helpless orphans. I won’t spoil it by answering that question but this is a must-read! A page turner from start to finish with well developed characters and a tightly woven plot. The end came way too fast. This is the 6th in a series but can be read as a stand-alone. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy for review.
