Melanie Travis’s Aunt Peg has surprised Melanie, her husband Sam, her brother Frank, and his wife Bertie with a romantic Valentine’s trip to the White Birch Inn in the Berkshires. Melanie is looking forward to some rest (and more than a little romance) but death seems to follow her – sure enough there is a murder the first night they get there. Although she has solved murders in the past, Melanie has no intention of getting involved in this one – until the inn keeper asks her for help. Soon Melanie finds herself asking questions – but will those questions put her in danger?

“Killer Cupid” is a delightful entry in Laurien Berenson’s Melanie Travis Canine cozy mystery series. It is a short but sweet read – perfect to read on a cold winter’s afternoon or night! While I am not a fan of Valentine’s Day, I found myself enjoying the description of the Inn and the various Valentine’s Day activities planned there – they sounded like fun without being hokey. The chemistry between Melanie and Sam continues to zing even after several years of marriage and I also love the relationship between her and her brother Frank and of course Bertie. The mystery itself is well done – just a few suspects but it took a surprising turn that made certain events quite suspenseful – well done by Berenson!

“Killer Cupid” is a sweet Valentine’s Day cozy mystery!

Melanie Travis and her husband Sam take a long weekend break to go on a romantic Valentine's trip to a beautiful resort in the mountains. The resort has lots of fun activities planned for couples. On the very first evening, the events director is murdered. The Innkeeper is worried about her hotel's reputation and after hearing of Melanie's skill at sleuthing, she asks for Melanie's help in solving the murder. While enjoying some of the hotel activities, Melanie can't resist doing some sleuthing, by asking questions of the hotel staff and some of the guests. This was a fun quick read with lots of twists and turns. Loved it! Thank you for the advance copy netgalley!

Melanie and Sam head off for a relaxing and romantic Valentine’s Day get away. But when a murder occurs at the Inn, Melanie finds herself sleuthing and landing on the suspect list. Now e she’s even more determined to find a killer, even if the sheriff doesn’t want her sticking her nose in.

This is a fabulous cozy series…it would have to be for this to be the 30th book in the series! I love that each book focuses on different people in Melanie’s life, not just the murders. There is something for everyone in this series and if you have not yet read one of these books, give this one a try…they read fine as standalones, but best of all? You have another 29 books to bing on!

I love this series. The characters and dogs make it always fun read but this time the plot and lack of Aunt, kids and the swarm of poodles made it less stellar for me. Involved crime and Bertie always is there for the assist.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc

Killer Cupid is just what the name suggests - a Valentine's day murder mystery.

Melanie and Sam go on a vacation to a lovely inn in New England for a relaxing holiday. They are taking a break from her work with dogs. Before too long a person dies. and Melanie begins to work on finding the killer. Unfortunately, she becomes a suspect so the Sheriff working the case won't let her investigate. At least visibly.

Of course she investigates on the down low.

I really enjoy Berenson's mysteries. Murder, dogs and a sense of humor leave me waiting for her next book.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC

I absolutely love the Melanie Travis mystery series by Laurien Berenson. This new installment uses a romantic Valentine’s Day weekend getaway as a chance for Melanie to solve another murder. With the help of her sister-in-law Bertie- Melanie sets out to find who the true villains really are. My only wish for this book was to have more Aunt Peg in it. Overall a great read and timely story line

Love this series, but wish there would have been more with the kids and dogs. Still though, Melanie helps to solve another murder in this fun cozy mystery series. Enjoy the series and author. Highly recommend this book.

A weekend getaway turns murderous. Melanie is on the case in the 30th (!!!) installment of the wildly popular Melanie Travis cozy mystery series. Dog lovers, cozy fans, you're in for a treat with well drawn characters, a story that's beautifully done, perfectly engaging, entertaining enough you won't want to put it down.
