Sapphic RomComs have been my favourite for a long time now and this one is no exception! Amy Spalding crafted an interesting and fast pace narrative that pulled me in from the second I started! Not only it was a sapphic love story, it featured plus-size characters in a beautiful way! This is a book for all romcom lovers who love seeing a character grow from start to finish!

Thank you to the publisher for the e-galley!

I actually really enjoyed it. It wasn’t very memorable, but even though it was cheerful and cute. The main character was a bit annoying at times, but also insanely relatable. The writing style was nice, it was just a light and (rather) fluffy romance.

It's hard to pull off the celebrity romance trope, so I was pleasantly surprised that this brand-new sapphic romcom executed it so well. Nina is a realistically flawed character that many readers will be able to relate to in one way or another - who hasn't felt devastated and struggled to bounce back after a huge (public, messy, emotionally destroying) breakup? Ari (celeb love interest) is a genuinely likeable character and the relationship buildup actually feels believable, as are the network of support characters who add an extra dimension to the story so it's not just all about the romance. I appreciated the characters' growth throughout and found myself wanting to get back to this between reading sessions wondering what would happen next.

Perfect to pick up if you're looking for a fairly light, fun & unique romcom with an entire cast of memorable characters and sapphic romance.

When I finally was able to sit down and read this book- I couldn’t stop. I was enthralled with Nina Rice and her story. I felt the pain she felt- as I have been told many times I love too hard or too much. So it was definitely relatable!
The story was filled with love and friendship- almost reminding me of the L-Word.

Five stars? More like ten! Oh my God this was beyond incredible. Nina, an aspiring screenwriter, currently writes emails. For other people. Including Hollywood’s queer darling, Ari Fox. When Ari requests they meet to fix the voice in the emails, Nina is immediately enamored. However, a bad breakup from her last relationship leads her to never date. At first, Ari thinks she doesn’t date at all. When she finds out that Nina is queer and Available? Well…

This is a rom com with a hot queer celebrity actress and a plus size queer woman. Nina is always body positive and despite going through insecurities, her body is a source of confidence for her. I loved seeing this kind of representation. Also, Nina has a close group of friends, her chosen family and a hilarious 80+ Aunt Lorna. You’ll fall in love with Nina, Ari, and the whole cast of characters. It’s funny, smart, and heartwarming. This book is everything queer romcoms need to be and you’ll be rooting for them from start to finish! I swooned at all of this queer joy!

Reviewing the ARC version!

Holy hell I can’t even begin to describe how much I enjoyed this book. Not only was it the cutest thing ever, but it had such loveable characters and moments that (with a lack of words to actually describe it) made my heart go jebshahb at many points.

I loved that the characters in the book were diverse and I loved how they were written, making them loveable and important to the story and it was hard for me to choose my favourite one since everyone was unique and loveable in their own way.

Love love love that the MC is plus sized as well as her best friend being it too and I lived for the entire book and could hardly put it down while also having a huge dilemma of not wanting it to end.

This book was very well written (and yes there might’ve been some moments I didn’t like but they’re overshadowed by how good this book was) and show a cute mix of friendship, family and relationships in a good way. And honestly as soon as this book is on the market I am running to the store to buy it!

Nina Rice worked for a talent agency in communications. Specifically, her job was to respond to the emails celebrities received as she were the celebrity herself. She held this job for several years and was good at it. It wasn't what she intended to do as her life's work, but she was content to continue doing this for the foreseeable future. Nina had a traumatic breakup several years earlier and since that time she had not dated much of spent much time with her close group of friends. She moved to the suburbs and only saw her beloved aunt consistently. Part of this issue was that prior to her breakup, her girlfriend had sent her a list of things that Nina needed to work on. Her ex also implied that it was only a matter of time until Nina's friends see her as difficult and move on as well. One of the celebrities Nina returned emails for requested a meeting with her and her boss to discuss how she would like her emails to "sound". Nina was excited to meet with Ari Fox as she admired her work and found her attractive. After the meeting, Ari suggested they meet up again separately so Nina could get to know her better as a way to make the email responses more authentic. Her second meeting with Ari was very fun and Nina found herself becoming very interested in Ari.

This story struck a chord with me. I have given something someone said about me way too much time in my head. I connected to Nina in this way as I could see myself having a similar reaction to a loved one telling me all of the things they found wrong with me. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Nina and Ari unfold. Lorna, Nina's aunt, was my absolute favorite. She and her friends would be so much fun to be around. I enjoyed this book very much and I will definitely recommend it to others.

I received an e-ARC for For Her Consideration and want to thank Amy Spalding, Kensington Publishing, and NetGalley for the opportunity to voluntarily read and give an honest review of this book.

I quite enjoyed this! It was a cute little sapphic romance. The narration felt a tad slow at times but otherwise, I found myself staying because I genuinely cared for the characters, no matter their flaws.

I wanted to love this book, but it felt like every time we almost got there it never crossed the finish line which I think can be blamed on the story’s inconsistent pacing. The narrative drags, the prose is often repetitive, and Spalding rushes through or skips over scenes that feel necessary to the plot. I think Nina's character was clearly flawed but I found it hard to believe if I dropped off the face of the earth for 3 years my friends would just let me back into their group with barely a slap on the wrist.

This book has a sweet, cute storyline about a
Hollywood agent's communication assistant named Nina, who hooks the romantic interest of a sexy starlet. I loved the progression of this romance, and the absurd timing of it--which turns out to make complete sense just before the ending.
The ending surprised me. There was a lot of character growth for the main character Nina, whom I admit I didn't love at first. I appreciated that this romance features more than one adorable gay couple (one of whom illustrates the challenges of trying to adopt a baby) and their found family.

4/5 stars!

This was such a fun read! I love romances set in a Hollywood setting, but they don't always work and I think For Her Consideration did a great job of balancing the relationship, the work and the challenges of both.

For Her Consideration is a great read for fans of books like How to Fake it in Hollywood and All the Feels.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

A delightful rom-com with celebrity romance. I enjoyed the quirkiness of the read. I’m glad there was no fat shaming or phobia.

Nina and Ari’s romance was relatable and enjoyable. The friends are hilarious and great. Overall I enjoyed this read and would recommend to others.

I'm actually giving this 4.5 stars. It was a great read!

The thing about this book that kept me from giving it a 5-star rating is that I was really going for a romance read and even though the romance between Nina and Ari is very sweet (I should say it's a celebrity romance too), it's not the main focus at all.

The book mainly focuses on Nina's growing up and maturing even as a 30-something year old woman (not that I'm criticizing this, we all have different timelines). I guess some people could be annoyed at her behaviour at times. She can be self-centered and so insecure that she ends up hurting others. But she's also funny and really kind.

Ari though... Oh, I loved her so much! She's not at all a celebrity cliché. I imagined her being soft butch and I don't think I read so many books with characters like her, let alone celebrity ones! That was a breath of fresh air. Her miscommunication with Nina was a bit overdramatic, I thought, but still, I forgave her so fast.

Another great representation in this book is that Nina is fat and she's so confident and comfortable in her body, it was really well written in that sense and I gave the author so many bonus points for this.

This book reminded me a lot of 'Honey Girl', which is one of my favorite books ever. The writing in Honey Girl is more poetic and For Her Consideration has more a rom-com vibe, but the main focus on the characters growing up it's very similar. There's also great representativity in both books too.

I really enjoyed this read. I'll be tuned for more sapphic Amy Spalding releases for sure.

Thanks NetGalley and Kensington Books for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a decent read but there were several weird things about it that irked me for whatever reason. Like, did the author have some sort of endorsement deal with Waze? She brings it up like a dozen times. The love interest exclusively calling the MC by her first AND last name and nothing else, very tiresome and overly cutesy. The MC’s inability to communicate with her best friend of many years and moving to the Valley and everyone acting like they couldnt have just shown up and checked in on her for literal YEARS? Also I didn’t really feel much chemistry between the leads.

The side characters make this book! but the main characters (specifically Nina) have something that a lot of characters in other romance novels dont have and that's real human responses, on paper Nina is annoying to read about but her responses would be totally real and valid in real life having gone through what she did, and i think that makes her character growth all that more satisfying as well. I think at some points the story dragged on and i felt a bit bored reading some parts of this book as some scenes just didn't add anything to the plot? Buti did however find this book refreshing. That friendship group though oh my! I love the constant support they offer Nina. But like i said it dragged and i feel as if it could've been at LEAST 100 pages shorter than it was and that's why it isn't a 5 star read for me but i definitely enjoyed this, was a sweet read and i recommend this for anyone looking for a simple romance novel :)

the side characters were way more interesting than the main character. it also just doesn't make sense that they wouldn't go see her for 3 years???

A prime example of a sapphic rom-com! Ari and Nina quickly stole my heart, the way their romance unfolded was so cute and true to life. Half of dating as a queer woman is figuring out if the person you like is even an option. I thought Spalding captured that particular brand of mutual pining particularly well.

I found Nina was a bit… pathetic, especially in the beginning. She has a traumatic break up and completely withdraws from life? From her friends she had way before the girlfriend? It just seemed a bit extreme to me. Luckily she does grow up and realize how silly she’s been by the end, we see a ton of growth from her. And she’s plus size but not worried about it, which is always a joy to read!

Nina and Ari’s relationship was so cute, so enjoyable to get lost in, of course we get the happy ending we signed up for. I wish it would have including more of a wrap up of the loose ends of Nina’s career, but overall a very satisfying ending to a very fun book!

Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

It took me ages to read this, and while I did enjoy aspects of it, I kept waiting to start actually enjoying it. The narration is just very slow, which is usually not my favourite in a romance book. It was funny at times, but other times I found the humour decidedly unfunny. Not in a harmful way, just in a way that didn't work for me. But especially I couldn't always follow along with the characterization of the characters. For most of the book, every time it started to feel like there would be a conflict, it would quickly be glossed over. And then the third act breakup felt completely blown out of proportion. Another example is that we keep being told that Ari is a very difficult client and a very difficult person, but we're never actually shown why. She was always perfectly lovely and reasonable. But most importantly, Nina has her struggles that stem from the way her ex broke up with her and what she told her then, and those things hit her so hard that she alienated herself from her friends for years. This is explored more towards the end of the book, and I was glad for it, but I felt like it would have made sense to delve into it more throughout the book as well.

For Her Consideration was a highly enjoyable novel, occasionally laugh-out-loud funny, and sometimes made me do some tough thinking too. I loved how well-fleshed out all of the supporting characters were - they felt like a real friend group. Ari seemed less complete to me, but not to such an extent that it stopped my enjoyment or immersion.
My main reactions to this novel do centre around the characters, as I found them more engaging than the plot at times - I found myself getting so mad at Nina, but also realising that we're quite alike in a lot of ways. I absolutely despised Taylor the whole way through, particularly impressive considering she appears only twice. I even loved Steve the invisible cat - every mention of him made me chuckle.
One niggle is that I found the constant (especially in the book's first half) and casual drink-driving to be really worrying. Perhaps this is an across-the-Atlantic difference, but I don't think a doughnut after a boozy brunch will "sober you up" at all, especially not for what we're consistently told is an arduous drive.
That aside, I did enjoy For Her Consideration - especially once we get into the later stages of the book, where there is more action, and a larger cast of characters to be drawn in by.
3.5 rounded up to 4.

this book is so sweet! It’s adorable hehe. I love rom com and this book is a romcom so…*adds to cart* Ari is a control freak, but I don’t think it was detailed nicely. Not a big fan of the characters but the side characters are amazing!!
