For this author's debut novel, I'm interested to see what she comes up with next! The idea behind this story with twin brothers Gavin and Devon that are total opposites of each other, one with a personality disorder and the other a stand-up citizen, it was a great concept.

Where the execution fell short for me as a reader was that there was a lot of time covered in this book, if I put the pieces together correctly, over 10 years, which I would have liked to see either the book split into a series so it could go into more detail, or at the very least clearly marked dates so the reader could more easily follow the timeline. I found myself getting well into a chapter at times before realizing how much time had passed, which always makes the novel harder to follow. Why I suggest this could have maybe been a series, is because I felt there were some big events that got brushed over that could have been expanded on to really paint a picture for the reader.

With the author's expansive knowledge and background in psychology, there was a great description of the psychology behind Devon, the twin with a personality disorder. That said, there were definitely times where I felt more like I was reading therapeutic commentary rather than a psychological thriller, as she was doing a great job telling the story to make the reader understand the personality disorder without throwing full-on, in depth descriptions in several times throughout.

Props to Leslie Kain at debuting her first novel and making it jam-packed with lots of interesting and twisty elements!
