Romance, fun, and a hot cowboy! These books were quick reads and completely enjoyable. There were even a few fun loving animals to complete the story.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Cowboy Country is a slow burn romance. Dal is a contentious, alpha male. Meadow is an innocent, independent woman. Their combative relationship slowly grows into more. They have quite the bumpy ride to their happy ending, but they do get there. This was an enjoyable read.

When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect book to snuggle up with on any day.

Two earlier stories combined into a paperback book. Enjoyed reading both stories. The first book “The Snow Man” is a book about a young woman from a divorced family that inherited her father’s ranch after his death. She had lived with her mother and knew little about ranching. She was a clumsy young woman who had two men (one of each side of her ranch) that wanted her ranch because of the water her ranch had.

The second story was “The Mistletoe Cowboy” was a short story regarding Parker a horse trainer that was half Crow Indian and anew neighbor that moved into the ranch next door. There was a 10 year girl by the name of Teddy Blake and her mother and Katy Blake and a rescue horse by the name of Bartholemew who was abused by his previous owner. The story revolves around Bart the rescue horse and the interest growing between between Katy and Parker.

Our library does purchase paperbacks but have many through donations. This is a book I would pickup if I was looking for an easy reading and a relaxing book.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Both books were very engaging and I read them to the end. While I enjoyed the connections between the characters the first book felt very antiquated.
Both are cowboy and ranch related which are both topics I love reading about.

Diana Palmer brings us two novellas in one book. "The Snow Man" brings us the story of Meadow and Dal. Meadow has returned home to her father's ranch and in direct contact with her childhood crush Dal. Read as they circle around each other where the past keeps them apart. See if they can get past that hurdle as they fight their feelings for each other while hurling hurtful words at each other and getting stolen kisses. Will they be able to let go of their past encounters and be able to move forward, or will they keep getting in their way?

"Mistletoe Cowboy" brings us the story of Katy and Parker. Parker meets Katy's daughter as she tries to catch up with her runaway horse. As they get used to life in Benton, Colorado, Parker becomes more ingrained in their lives. When the former owner of the horse demands it back, actions lead to misunderstandings. Will they be able to get past it in order to build a future?

Diana Palmer brings us back to Benton, Colorado. We get to return back and see who else has come to visit this town. As you read and discover the new residents, you also get to check in with the other residents. They are short stories, so they are short and sweet. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Kensington Books for this privilege.

Reading anything by veteran author Diana Palmer is always a good time, but two previously released titles in Colorado Country again reaffirm this reader's appreciation. From unrequited love made good to a new love between a cowboy and a war widow, this compilation did not disappoint.

This book was a quick, fun book with two different storylines.
The first sory sounded really promising and I could see the vision the author har but it failed on some parts.

The main characters in The Snowman got om my nerves. Meadow was too forgiving and I wished she made him groovle more.

Dal was just mean and a bully. He wasn't subtle when he made his remarks about Meadows appereance and he made himself look childish.

Their love story was also too fast and I didn't really connect with them. I think of the author would just focus on this story and changed the Main characters personality a Little bit and gave us, the readers, more of their Love story before they get married it would have been a better book.

COLORADO COUNTRY contains two Diana Palmer novellas previously published as standalones and in Christmas collections namely Christmas With My Cowboy and Christmas Kisses With My Cowboy. As a huge fan of this author I had already read and reviewed the two stories contained in COLORADO COUNTRY. The Snow Man and Mistletoe Cowboy. Loved them both and adored the characters both two and four legged. Didn’t realize I had already read them when I got my hands on COLORADO COUNTRY. But must admit it was fun to revisit some old friends.
The Snow Man centers on Meadow who is a complete neophyte when it comes to ranching. But she finds herself as owner of her father’s ranch. Still needing funds to survive Meadow looks toward her one profession, law enforcement. She learned a lot at her short stint with the FBI. Felt rather inept at most things that required dexterity. To make matters worse, she had difficulty maintaining a healthy distance from her caustic neighbor Dal. Long history of cold, nasty put downs with Dal has candidly left Meadow gun shy. Meadow is confused by Dal’s unfriendly attitude although she freely admits to putting herself in rather embarrassing situations when she was a teenager with a mad crush for him.
Mistletoe Cowboy is about new beginnings. New beginnings are awesome and at the same time a bit scary. Such is the case for Teddie and her recently widowed mom Katy. The two have settled on her deceased husband’s family ranch. A little worse for wear, it would be a great place for them to learn to live without their husband and dad. Teddie adopts a rescued, abused horse she names Bartholomew, Bart for short and needs help with training herself along with Bart. Parker works at a neighboring ranch and is in as much need of saving as Bart it seems. Nothing like a child and an old horse to bring folks together.
Diana Palmer likes to link strong alpha men with women who seem at first glance weaker. Of course both wind up needing something vital from each other. In The Snow Man we have a woman who is in dire need to have her self-confidence boosted and at first glance the man who has caught her eye is definitely not one to do that. Diana Palmer lets her characters grow and part of the enjoyment of reading any tale by this prolific author is waiting for that ah ha moment when the character has that moment of reflection. In Mistletoe Cowboy Diana Palmer almost seamlessly merges two worlds, modern civilization, and Native Americans.

So here's the thing - I am a longtime fan of Diana Palmer. I love her traditional style western romances. Small towns - lovely homey people. I did NOT love the first story in this anthology. The second story I had read before and enjoyed again. But the first - definitely a NO from me.

Here's why - Meadow recently lost her father and has moved home to run the ranch and figure out her next steps in life. Her parents divorced when she was younger - but she remained close with her father and visited him often on this ranch. While she was there she developed a major league crush on her father's neighbor - Dal Blake. Poor Meadow was a very awkward teenager - and her crush was even more awkward. And unfortunately - Dal is a complete a$$hole to her about it. That attitude continues well on past her childhood. Throughout the entire story really, up until like five minutes before the end, Dal is so nasty to Meadow. It really goes beyond being a bullying jerk into the range of verbal abuse. In fact the entire attitude he has towards Meadow is so ugly that I didn't want her to end up with him. The fact that Meadow immediately declares her love and marries him was so incredibly disappointing - I can't even tell you. His - I treated you badly because I liked you too much is just - ugh. The entire story felt - dated both in attitudes towards women and basically everyone else (most women today wouldn't wear a pantsuit on a date and call it casual). For me - it just did not feel good, romantic, or positive in any way.

The second story was one I liked both times I read it - even though I did have issues with the way the hero acted at time - but it definitely had a more positive spin on relationships for me.

I received this as an ARC via NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

Both these books have been previously released before. I enjoyed reading them again.
The Snow Man
Dal has always been hard on Meadow. She’s been infatuated with Dal since she was 16 years old and he was much older than her. I felt bad for Meadow. She has such a huge heart but things always go sideways for her. Dal is sexy and cranky. I love Diana Palmer’s writing.

Mistletoe Cowboy

Parker had a rough childhood after his mother passed away. He’s extremely smart and great with horses. Katy’s husband has passed away and she’s raising her daughter as a single mother. Teddy is a cute little girl. Katy has difficulty expressing her emotions. I enjoyed this book a lot. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
