My Beloved Lord manga pretty much what you’d expect it to be. We have a sex-obsessed spirit that possesses a high school boy and together they try to get the spirit to ascend to heaven — how? Through mastering 48 sexual moves/positions.

This was an interesting read and definitely mature. And in true BL fashion, there’s tragedy, rom-com, and true love.

I really didn't like this, I wasn't going to rate or review it but I feel it's better to share my opinion on this. I couldn't get through all of this but I got through a large chunk of it and I just didn't resonate with it. Obviously, people will enjoy this but I am just not one of those people.

Thanks to Netgalley for this advanced reading copy. Since this is only a preview, I couldn't really grasp the whole story's vibe to actually fully review it. But I'm willing to give the first issue a try based on this.

First of all I want to thank netgalley for providing me with this manga.

Clarify that it was only the first chapter.

This manga tells us about Natsuki, a young student who one day is visited by the spirit of a warrior from the past with whom he had a relationship in his past life. In his past life they promised to interact and perfect together a technique of 48 movements, and since both died before being able to achieve it, the spirit of the warrior could not rest, so now they must complete the technique.

ok the style of the drawing is very much from 2000 and is very characteristic of the mangaka, the story itself did not generate anything for me, it was meh, at least with this first chapter it did not leave me wanting to continue reading, I feel that it is very plot that plot plotless sex

It's very one of those old manga, where the story it told as long as it had a sex scene didn't matter, at least for me what hooks me the most is the story, that there is a common thread.
I give it 2 stars out of 5 and that is being generous.

What the hell did I just read? This is not a full graphic novel it’s a preview but it’s there’s not enough there to preview it. It seems like random pages put together that doesn’t really give you much of the story. What it appears to be is that the one guy is being haunted by a five hundred-year-old dead guy who must master these 48 sex tricks to pass on. But there is assault and missing consent. I did not enjoy this at all, and I have no desire to pick up the full book and figure out what the hell’s going on.

Even though it was only a short snipped of the original, it makes you want to read more und gets you intrigued.

The art is really gorgeous! Very pretty, very animated. The story has potential to be cute and romance-y, but I don't like that it started with assault and coercion. I'm not really buying the misunderstanding angle completely, since ghost dude was completely ignoring Natsuki's protests and his obvious cluelessness about what ghost dude was talking about, but the two did come to an understanding, and there is potential here, I would read the full volume of this, and probably further.

It was difficult to get a good feel for the storyline based on one chapter, but the artwork is good and premise interesting so it has a lot of potential.

I have not read too many series with the theme of reincarnation especially BL's so this was an interesting read. Overall it was funnier than expected. I couldn't help but smile while reading it. I really enjoyed the characters and the art style is clear and easy to read. I really look forward to reading the rest and seeing how this turns out!

This is one of three mangas that are just previews of the first chapter all of which are 18+ BL stories. This one is over the top ridiculous but also really funny.. Basically the guy somehow summons some fantasy warrior who thinks that he is the same person as his long last lover. The lover who died before the two men could complete their bucket list of sexual acts. And that’s where the preview ends. It wasn’t bad very over exaggerated actions by the warrior and a slightly terrified yet turned on young man

Steaminess ahead.

Thank you to Netgalley and Media Do International for the free chapter one preview of My Beloved Lord in exchange for an honest review.

If a ghost appears in your bedroom, don't offer to help complete its last wish to move on before you know what that wish is! Be glad Natsuki didn't know that tid-bit of info before he agreed to help Otono-sama, or else we wouldn't have this fun romp of a manga!

Fair warning, this seems to be quite the steamy manga and not appropriate for younger readers, but for us adults who enjoy a bit of smut (yes, I said it) then read on, my fellow Yaoi lovers.

The art was nice, giving a bubbly aesthetic to an already absurdly silly, Yaoi-centric storyline. It should be noted that Otono does try to force Natsuki to preform his last of 48 moves (a innocent one, unbeknownst to Natsuki,) to move on from this world, but Natsuki does a fine job of fending him off and only gives in when he feels bad for Otono… before knowing what was holding him back from moving on.

This is definitely a book I'd like to read the rest of! It's something to tune out the world and just have a good time, I so wish I had more then just one chapter.

This is my favourite of the 3 first chapters, to be honest. I loved the art, I thought it was brilliant and the expressions on the characters faces were amazing. I wasn’t a fan of the dubious consent however I had the most fun reading this chapter as it was quite entertaining and amusing! I’d definitely be intrigued to pick up the actual volume and see what it’s like.

This was an interesting first chapter preview! Though the topic is more of the sexual nature (the two have to complete the 48 tricks) I think the dynamic and fun the two character bring will give a slightly mundane subject a lot of character.

Not sure on if this will be more of a fun book rather than a deeper look into sexuality, but it was a pretty good read.

Arc Provided by Netgalley and Kobunsha Co., Ltd

The spirit of Otono suddenly possesses Natsuki, a lord he served in a previous life and had vowed to master the 48 spicy moves together. However, before they could, Natsuki died and was reborn, so Otono said that he couldn't be reborn until he completed the vow, thus wishing to complete it as a ghost with Natsuki.

So far, the manga seems pretty cool. While I have some concerns regarding overall consent, as Natsuki seems to be pretty clear that he doesn't want to complete the vow he made in his past life, there is no non-con. The chaotic dynamic of the two allows the first chapter to come off as comical as we're getting to know the characters and their overall dynamic. I can't wait to see what future chapters will be like and hope it's as funny as the first chapter.

I'll start with the positives because there are a lot of negatives coming. The art is pretty cute and I love how well Komosubi does expressions. You can really tell what each character is thinking.
Now, with that out of the way.
I'm not a big fan of top forces bottom and it's okay because the bottom enjoyed it in the end. This book is basically that. The first chapter is pretty tame and kind of funny, but Natsuki is pretty adamant that he does not want it and is ignored for the entirety of the volume. This is a bit of a shame because the whole 48 moves idea is kind of interesting.
Overall, I could never quite get over the fact that Natsuki is basically getting raped by a ghost that justifies himself by saying that they knew each other 500 years ago and he (Natsuki) seems to be enjoying it.

Happy thanks to NetGalley and Kobunsha Co., Ltd for the chance to read!

The premise seems entertaining enough, but it didn't really make me want to read more. The reincarnation trope has definitely been better in other series. Since it was only a chapter, there wasn't much time for character development. Artwork was just okay.

I loved this one! The premise is so absurd and delightful - a 500 year old ghost warrior returns across time to his reincarnated love so they can complete their 48 sex tricks.

The artwork is delightful. I laughed out loud at the humor. This was the first chapter, but I would absolutely read more of this hilariously fun and sexy m/m manga romp.

Definite content warnings for dubious consent here (think ravishment fantasy) so if that's not for you I would pass this one by.

A ghost has to do 48 things with his lover before he can move on. It was only chapter one, but I am looking forward to seeing where this goes next.

4 stars.

In this preview we meet Natsuki, the reincarnation of Tsukinosoke, the servant and lover of a Lord.
A Lord that Natsuki goes from dreaming of every night to finding in bedroom.
This was a one chapter preview of what's to be an eccentric but hopefully comic BL
