i liked the characters in the beginning books better and therefore had a harder time enjoying this book.

AK Mulford crafts gorgeous worlds with fully fleshed and multidimensional characters that are easy to relate to and fall in love with. I love that Mulford writes queer characters organically, but also that there isn’t some huge fanfare or devastating backstory in order for them to exist—they just are. This isn’t the extent of inclusion for the Okrith world. Readers of all identities and backgrounds can expect to see themselves in someone, and that’s what I love most about Milford’s writing.

The Rogue Crown is one of my favorite sapphic romances ever. I’m a sucker for the bodyguard/princess trope and Mulford delivers it perfectly. Bri has been one of my favorites of the series and to see her get her happiness finally was everything. The tension of the forbidden romance is exquisite.

I was really excited that this story followed Briata because I really enjoyed her in this series so far. I really enjoyed how this book's plot was laid out for us because it wasn't jumping all over the place and was easy to follow. Bri's character is just brilliantly done and executed. Given the combination of her and Lina i felt like it was a fun ride. I enjoyed this and i am glad i did because i didnt jive so well with book 2

The Rogue Crown by A.K. Mulford 4/5

General Fiction - Sci Fi & Fantasy

The Rogue Crown is the third installment to the series and one that I wish wouldn't end. The characters and world building all come full circle and I did not want it to say goodbye to them again. We are taken to the Western Court, the court in which Bri has always been told she would one day wear the crown of. Bri is keeping to her ways and keeping the princess safe, as everyone is a suspect in the queen's murder. The book is an easy read, and the characters are easy to love. I love the thrill, adventure and high fantasy feel. The Rogue Crown is a great read and I highly recommend the series.

Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the eARC.

So I liked this one better than The High Mountain Court but I didn’t read The Witch’s Blade. I’m not sure this series is for me, it might be the writing style. But I thought this was a good sapphic fantasy. The characters are wonderful which makes me want to read all the others as well but I may leave it to just 1 and 3.

This is the BEST Sapphic fantasy romance that I have read to date! I have dying to read Bris story since book 1 and this one did not disappoint!

The Rogue Crown is the third installment in The Five Crowns of Okrith fantasy series about fae warrior Bri, who investigates the murder of the Western Queen while protecting the princess Lina, who she has feelings for. Bri must defeat the witch hunters, navigate a hostile reception from the Western Court, and work with the Lina to uncover their enemies' plots. The princess begins to trust Bri as they work together, but Bri is determined to fulfill her duty and prove the prophecy wrong.

This series is high on my list, and I love that the author hasn't drug out the original story in over five books. Instead, we get to move the Western Court and learn more about Bri. This is a sapphic romance, enemies to lovers, just FYI. There is so much more to this series, and I can't wait for the next installment.

Bri was always one of my favorite characters. Her story seemed fascinating, and I am so glad we got a story of her POV. As always, this was very well written and entertaining.

AK Mulford has done it again. The Rogue Crown begins where the Witch’s Blade ends with Bri taking off to the Western Court to protect the Princess after the assignation of the Queen, a task that is made difficult by a prophecy declaring that Bri would take the crown from the head of the Queen and the princess Lina doesn’t want to be protected. Lina refuses to be a proper princess and insists on finding out who killed her mother. Bri finds herself falling for Lina even though a future together is impossible.
I really love this series and loved that Bri found a partner who matches her strength and passion.

AK Mulford has become an instant purchase for me. I have loved all of the books in the 5 Crowns of Okrith series.
This third book follows Bri’s story, and it’s great to finally have her get her chance to shine. The setting is so vivid. The story is compelling.
The only trouble I had was the pace. I felt like this one was a little slower than the previous books.
Thank you AK Mulford and NetGalley for a digital galley in exchange for an honest review.

Another fantastical read from A.K. Mulford!

The Rogue Crown is the third book amongst the Five Crowns of Okrith series, and takes place with one of our beloved characters, Bri. Upon arriving to the Western Court, she is tasked with protecting the court's heir, Princess Abalina (Lina) after a fatal attack took the Queen's life, and to discover who orchestrated the attacks. Bri and Lina's building relationship throughout the book was something I enjoyed wholeheartedly. A.K. again has a hold on my heart with this amazing read. The world building is perfect and never overwhelming, and the story is filled with some of my favorite things. Enemies to lovers, witches, magic, fae beings and more. I also adore A.K.'s way of representing her characters. A perfect Fall read!

As a Bri fan, I was psyched to read The Rogue Crown, where Bri is tasked with protecting the Princess in a rather rocky political climate.

This book has it all—sapphic romance, found family, enemies to lovers, snark, spice, protector vibes, and plenty of action. Bri and Lina really come into their own in this book, and it’s a joy to witness.

The Rogue Crown is the third installment in The Five Crowns of Okrith series, and I eagerly anticipate book four!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Harper Voyager for the ARC. All thoughts in this review are honest and my own.

I was given an Arc copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love this series so much so I was so excited to get this book!

I couldn’t put it down!

I love that we are still in this world but this is finally Bri’s story!

Solid 4/5 and will be ordering a physical copy for my shelf.

Ever since The High Mountain Court, I've wanted to know more about Bri, and The Rogue Crown absolutely delivered! I love her snark, her devotion to her friends, and her character growth. A.K. Mulford has crafted a wonderful series so far that blends an overarching storyline with individual romance stories in a beautifully crafted fantasy world.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review!

An amazing 3rd book to this series. We finally get more of the Eagle Twins stories following Bri. This is a sapphic fantasy romance with enemies to lovers, found family and strong MCs.

I always love AK Mulford books and getting to see more of the main characters in her stories. Bri and Lina are both strong and stubborn. They both had parents who really didn't understand them as a person. Both are uniquely different with distinct personalities.

The steamy scenes were chef's kiss. The battle scenes kept me on the edge of my seat. There were many plot twists that made the story exciting and left us needing to know what happens next in the royals fight to keep the kingdom safe.

**I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review**

I was afraid to finish this book. Why? Because with the first two books I devoured within days and then I had to wait. So I dragged out reading it and then I reached a point where I couldn't hold back anymore.

I was excited when I realized we were going to learn more about Bri in this book. I'd be happy to have Bri as a drinking partner. She's so fierce but also loyal.

We enter the Western Court, the court that Bri has been told her entire life she will one day seize the crown of, and are immediately thrown into the middle of a investigation into the recent assassination of the queen. Bri commits to keeping the soon to be queen, princess Lina, safe as everyone is a suspect in the queens murder. Meanwhile, Norwood still is a threat and there are more signs that the power of the violet witches is returning.

What I really love about A.K. Mulford's writing is the worldbuilding is never too heavy but always draws you in. You could pick this up and with minimal effort still gain an understanding of what is going on in the world but you also are not slogging through the backstory of the last two books. Every character comes to life off the page.

This book plays with some great tropes as the sapphic romance unfolds. We have the bodyguard trope with forced proximity. A dash of enemies to lovers. While the other books heavily used the fated mates trope, this one is all about choices. Bri's choices. Lina's choices. The late queen's choices. It was a refreshing change from the first two books in the series.

This book is also pretty heavy on the slow burn but I LOVE a good slow burn. Bri's pining and adoration is spectacular. The spice I felt was a touch lighter in this book than the previous two, but it worked perfectly for me.
I may be getting more in tune with A.K. Mulford's writing, or maybe the twists weren't as quick this time. But I did have a hint at who the culprit was and I was right. However, we still had some excellent twists before we got there and I was not expecting the ending I got.
Overall, if you want some slow burn, the tension, action and adventure, heartwarming and heart wrenching moments, then pick this book up. The Five Crowns of Okrith has been a wild ride so far and I cannot wait for the next book!
