Yet another lovely story by Lauren Graham. Her ability to tell a story that engages readers, while making you cringe at awkward moments is amazing. I will read anything she creates.

I simply adore Lauren Graham. I loved Gilmore Girls, Parenthood, and Zoey’s Playlist (it was robbed!) and I’ve come to enjoy her turns as an author as well. This set of essays did not disappoint. She’s as charming and witty as the characters she plays. (And I totally love the way she uses parentheses the way she speaks, just like I do.)
She tugged at my heart talking about her parents and pets and made me giggle talking about bras and her friends, can Mae Whitman be my bestie too?? And those who are Hollywood fans will like the peek she provides in her world.
Light and easy, a quick read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Ballantine for the gifted copy for my honest review!

Lauren Graham is back with tales of acting life and aging in Hollywood. In this short essay collection, Graham uses her usual wit and sage advice that will have her fans wanting more.
I love Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls and Parenthood. I haven't read her first book but this has made me push it up my TBR. It's a fun and short book to pass the time.

I loved Lauren Graham in Gilmore Girls and Parenthood, so when I saw she had a new book I was excited to read it. I read Talking as fast as I can a few years ago and really enjoyed it. This book is a collection of essays about show biz and Lauren's experiences with it. I liked hearing about her early life, and in particular, her time in New York. I learned some fun things about show business that I wouldn't otherwise have learned. I found most of the essays interesting, though some were better than others. I do think she overuses the word "thusly" and it drove me a little crazy. If you're a fan of hers, definitely read this. If you're interested in becoming involved in Hollywood this would also be interesting for you.

Lauren Graham has a truly unique voice that comes across so clearly in her projects. Reading her books feels like sitting at lunch with one of your best girlfriends. There is always a risk that a celebrity memoir ruins whatever appeal that celebrity had for you but I never miss the chance to read anything that Graham creates because it never disappoints.

I really want to be friends with Lauren Graham IRL. She is absolutely hilarious! I love a great book that actually makes me laugh out loud and this one will do that! A funny collection of short stories from all sorts of life experiences. If this won't make you feel less alone in the world, I don't know what will.

Thank you, NetGalley, for ARC in exchange for review.

I do like Lauren Graham. And I haven't even watched Gilmore Girls or Parenthood. But she makes me laugh. And this book did as well.

Sharing stories from her life is a taste of Stars! They're just like us! But she seems down to earth and again, funny. Recommended for fans or for a light humorous read.

Love her stories and her wit. I especially loved the heart-felt Mochi story, her vulnerability really came through.

Thank you to Netgalley, Random House Publishing Group, and Libro FM for both physical and audio arcs of Lauren Graham’s Have I Told You This Already: Stories I Don’t Want to Forget to Remember. I ended up listening to the audio version narrated by Graham.

In her second essay collection, actress and writer Lauren Graham shares more tidbits from her life, including her current television gig on The Mighty Ducks, her break-up with partner Peter Kraus, and how she handled the pandemic. Graham’s memoir is both humorous and reflective, a treat for fans, but truly a book that can be widely enjoyed, even by those unfamiliar with her work.

To me, autumn means Gilmore Girls and as we don’t have any new episodes in the works, a book from Lauren Graham is the next best thing. Graham lightly addresses the desire for more Gilmore Girls, but as she really doesn’t have more info on the subject, she doesn’t linger in Stars Hollow. Graham is expansive in her topics. I enjoyed her take on the importance of making friends both older and younger that oneself as a way to expand horizons. Graham has a very lovely friendship with Mae Whitman, who played Graham’s daughter on the television show Parenthood. Graham offers interesting insight regarding her experiences behind-the-camera, with both directing a television episode and pitching a writing project. The sweetest story involves Graham getting a new dog during the pandemic, while on location in Canada. I always love a good pet/human adoption story.

Have I Told You This Already is a mostly feel-good collection of essays that made me happy during this hectic holiday season.

Fun snappy and fast. Exactly what you would expect from Lauren Graham. Also fun to hear stories from aspects of her life that we haven't necessarily gotten to focus on before.

I listened to the audiobook version of this read by Lauren Graham, and I would say that is the way to go! I loved listening to her tell her own stories, and I think hearing her speak was my favorite part of this book. I really enjoyed her first memoir, and while I found that she was still charming in this one, it didn't interest me as much. There wasn't a ton about Gilmore Girls or her other big works. The stories seemed to be like little anecdotes that perhaps weren't as exciting or thrilling as they could be--they were cute, charming, funny, but probably not of any interest to those who aren't fans of hers.

All in all, I would recommend to other GG/Graham fans, but I don't know how interesting it would be to someone who isn't familiar with her work.

Full disclosure, I have read all of Lauren Graham's other books and am a huge Gilmore Girls fan. Therefore, I was very excited to receive an advanced reader copy through NetGalley, and am thankful for the opportunity to read and review this excellent book. This memoir is a series of essays about Ms. Graham's life -- as a struggling actor, her time in Hollywood, suggestions for directing, aging in Hollywood, and many other hilarious topics. I would definitely like to listen to her read the audiobook, but to be honest I could actually hear her voice as I was reading her words on the page. The book is full of humor, honesty, entertainment, and definitely feels like chatting with your best friend.

In this set of comedic stories and essays, Lauren Graham uses her patented charm, wit, and timing to deliver delightful and amusing tales that had me laughing out loud. Almost a love story to New York, this book picks up right where her last book of essays left off and it was just the right amount of a good thing. Highly recommend for fans of Gilmore Girls dialogue and comedy memoirs in general!

I loved Graham’s Talking as Fast as I Can and happily read her latest book Have I Told You This Already? Lauren Graham is a working actress. To me that means that sometimes she’s the sidekick, sometimes she gets a bit part and for a glorious time she was the star in the wonderful Gilmore Girls. But she has the ability to continually be work hard, find jobs and show her talents as an actress. In this collection of stories she shares are about her life and work. Things that she has learned in her life that have helped her in her career and other aspects of her life. I love that she knows the shallowness of Hollywood, the fact you get more jobs if you are thin, or wear a push up bra. But she has learned to get along with others. And when she doesn’t have work she creates it by getting a book deal or starting a pod cast.

The book doesn’t dwell on her dating or personal life. More on her work and friendships. Things that she observes. I was most interested in the chapters focusing more on her career. I wasn’t aware she is currently working on Mighty Ducks for Disney+, but I still love reading about how she takes on the challenge of directing an episode. I was less interested in random musings of what a character might think of a situation or why squirrels keep showing up in her life. But even that is entertaining. She writes the way that she talks in a personal and friendly tone like she is sharing with a friend. I’m sure she will write more books and I will happily be here to read them.

If you love Lauren Graham and have read her previous nonfiction and fiction, this book does not disappoint. As you read you can HEAR her in your head. I find her conversational style quite appealing - makes me feel like we are just hanging out, and chatting.

In general, I was disappointed by Have I Told You This Already? I really enjoyed Lauren Graham’s first memoir and had high hopes for this one. Maybe it was just me, but this book fell a bit flat. I felt Lauren’s personality and wit did not come through in all the essays. Her essays regarding herself were great – but the showbiz/Hollywood-type essays seemed like they could have been written by anyone. Perhaps the audiobook would have been better, but I found myself bored with the actual book. I did appreciate her authenticity and willingness to share stories that were not completely flattering about herself (such as the story of her dog). This doesn’t knock my appreciation of Lauren Graham as an actress or a writer – I think this book just wasn’t for me.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the advanced ebook copy. All opinions are my own.

I feel so lucky for having Lauren Graham as one of my role models since my teenager years. She’s so important to me. I grew up watching Gilmore Girls, I was devasted when it ended, but my love for Lauren made me feel better. I was always so proud of her. Even the movies with bad ratings on Rotten Tomatoes make me happy and mean so much to me. It’s a funny thing to be proud of someone you don’t really know personally, but sometimes it feels like Lauren truly is like a friend I’ve had during the past 20 years. She just doesn’t know that, lol. All my family knows I’m a fan. My friends from high school still remind me as “the girl who was a gilmore girls fan.” And I’m proud of that too.

But even after reading her previous books, and all the hours I spent watching her interviews, and all the articles I read about her online, I never felt like I knew her so deeply as I do now. This book made me love her even more. I didn’t know that was possible.

During the past years, the fans wondered why she was choosing such different projects, what ever happened to a project that was never mentioned again, and begging her (many, many times) to make a podcast with Mae Whitman. Sometimes we just had no answers about next projects and honestly it was frustrating. But selfishly, I guess none of us thought that she was also trying to find these answers. We just missed her and wanted to see her happy and working. It’s easy to have high expectations when you’re a fan of a wonderful, talented actress, who always gives good advices and who’s always making everyone laugh. I guess it was hard for me to see that my role model maybe wasn’t living the life she wanted and needed to give herself some time and try different things to find her own happiness. And she had all the right. I’m glad (and proud. have I said I’m proud?) of all the choices she made. She writes with humor, making us laugh even when she’s telling a sad story. But these pages definitely show how hard this process was for her.

In this book, we see the real Lauren. I read a digital copy, but I swear I could listen to her voice in my head, because she really writes as she speaks. It’s just her. She explored her vulnerability like never before in public, showing her heart and all the sides of being an actress, the good and the bad. I’m not an actress or a director, but if you are, or if you know one, I would say this just became a required reading for them. But if you’re just a person with a regular not glamurous 9-to-5 job, this book is also for you. We all can learn so much from her. I’m not saying this just because I’m a fan, but she’s honestly someone I wish I could spend hours and hours just talking about life. (Mae, I envy you, hard.)

I’m 32 now (at least until next month) and there’s a particular chapter that made me think a lot about this moment of my life. So funny to me that Lauren is publishing this book and talking about this right NOW. Signs, signs everywhere!!! Right?!

This book made me laugh and cry. It made me reflect about my life. It reminded me of good times from the past and also showed me that I still have a LOT to learn from her. One thing I know for sure: where she leads, I will follow. Anywhere. And I’m 100% sure that it’s going to be an incredible adventure. I can’t thank her enough.

I both read and listened to this titles thanks to NetGalley and Libro.fm, and I enjoyed both but the audio version even more. Lauren Graham read the audio version and it was fun to listen to her tell the stories. I love the way the essays were told, it was like listening to someone tell you their stories so personally. I thought the stories were funny and yet she always had good and useful points to be made. Some stories were more interesting than others but all of them were good.

Lauren Graham can do no wrong! She is charming both on and off the screen.

In this latest set of essays--narrated by Graham herself--we are taken into the world of Graham's world of acting lessons learned on and off the screen. These are told in the only way that she can convey--this isn't Lorelei Gilmore, no this is the amazing Lauren Graham.

I cannot remember laughing out loud so much as I have with a memoir. Graham is so honest (not just when it paints her in a good light either) and refreshing. Everyone will want to be best friends with this woman--male & female, if they don't already.

I adored with book with a capital A. I hope Graham writes more.
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced audio copy of this book. It helped get me through some hard days.

I loved listening to the audiobook of this one. I am always glad when the author narrates their own audiobook. This had a veneer of sadness. But it was a book of interesting essays.
