Definitely one of those single sitting reads where you can't put it down until you're done. Great banter between the characters, and good buildup of the relationship.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This review is based on the sample of the book and not the entire story.

The first five chapters of On The Hustle had me eager to read more! Alba has been working as a personal assistant to Theo for three years, but her real dream is to be an interior designer. Theo's never been anything but cold to her, so she's nothing but confused when he shows up in Dallas with an offer to do a TV show together after she takes a new job there.

At first I was turned off by the love interest being Alba's rude boss, but getting Theo's side of the story softened me towards him. I'm excited to read the rest of the book and get more from his perspective. The characters clearly have a surplus of chemistry and tension, and it's going to be quite a ride in their enemies to lovers journey!

Loved this preview! Adriana Herrera is truly a force to be reckoned with. I cannot wait to read the whole book.

This preview of On the Hustle absolutely made me want to read it!! I’ve really enjoyed books from Adriana Herrara before and I was excited to read this preview. On the Hustle seems like it has several tropes that I’ll enjoy. I loved how Alba is learning to stand up for herself and am intrigued to see more about her relationship with her (former) boss. I also love that she does bookish-themed makeovers! I’m looking forward to reading this!

Thank you to Adriana Herrara, Carina Press, and Netgalley for a free preview in exchange for honest feedback.

This just wasn't the book for me!
I didn't like how main characters were acting bit immature. This one started well, but then it just didn’t do it for me!
Thank you Netgalley and publisher for the preview.

He was her boss...and she couldn't stand him, or the way she turned him on. And now that he's *not* her boss, all he wants is to redefine the relationship.

I've said it before and will say it again—I'm thrilled with the turn towards more Latine (and BIPOC more generally) protagonists in mainstream romance. It's beyond high time! What fascinates me here, though, is that these sample chapters have "On the Hustle" set up to be something of an update on the classic "Greek tycoon" subset of romance novels. (If you're not familiar with the existence of that particular subset—yes. Yes, it is a thing.) Alba is Dominican, and Theo is Dominican-Greek, and it's evident even from these sample chapters that their cultural identities/backgrounds are meant to play a role here.

Even modern-day Greek tycoons are not really my thing, but I'm happy to know that if I ever want to make a comparison between old and new, I know where to look (and I'm intrigued by Alba's business—if you had a room designed around a specific book, which book would you choose?).

Thanks to the author and publisher for providing this sample through NetGalley.

On the hustle was one of my greatest reads for 2022. As usual Adriana never disappoints. Alba and Theo still live rent free in my head months later:)

My first Adriana Herrera book did not disappoint! Alba Serena is a force to be reckoned with. I am kinda jealous I didn't think of her Bookish Boudoir idea first. I love the idea and the way Herrera fed into my book loving heart by using IRL books as project themes. This book is steamy, fun, full of moments that made my heart swoon, and did I mention steamy. I will definitely be reading more of her books.

An absolute delight this preview of Adriana Herrera’s On the Hustle novel was. First off I loved that this is first person narrative. Alba as a character was someone you could immediately relate to, being a go getter, putting your family first, of wanting to fulfil your dreams but feeling apprehensive about change and the fear of failure. Theo was a bit of a mystery so far, so I will reserve judgement of him but based on the quirky nicknames he gives Alba in their interactions, I have a feeling he has some jokester traits in him. I’m excited to complete the story and see how the two grow together as a couple and the road Alba takes to make her dreams a reality!

Not for me. There was nothing inherently wrong with this, but I just don't like this style of lust-filled enemies-to-lovers, and I could already tell from this chapter sampler that I won't like this book.

I received a copy of this sneak peek through Netgalley. This is my honest review.

This is a classic story of he's mean to her because he likes her, but in this case it's actually sort of acceptable. Honestly, he's not really mean to her exactly, but he keeps her at arms length and is likely a little more terse with her than he is with others, because he is her boss. Pursuing anything with her would be highly inappropriate while she is his employee after all.

I really enjoyed Alba's sass and take no prisoners attitude and the friend she's adopted into in Dallas is a hoot. The two ladies she starts working for in Dallas also seem pretty awesome from the brief bit of the story that I had access to here.

The tension build up is amazing and I can only imagine the kinds of interactions that occur between Alba and Theo during this project. I can easily see them bickering their way to a happy ending in the end.

This is definitely a book I will be looking to finish sometime soon.

I wasn’t going to read this preview because it didn’t seem that interesting to me, but when I saw Ali Hazelwood’s review comparing it to the kdrama What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, I HAD to read it because it’s my favorite kdrama. Although this was only a preview, all I could see was how similar it was to WWWSK and I fell in love. I can’t wait to read the finished book because Alba and Theo’s relationship is going to be such a roller coaster and I’m here for it!

Cute, sexy, funny. What more can you ask for? This preview convinced me to buy the full book and I’m looking forward to sharing it with others.

Alba Duarte is hustling to support herself and family with several jobs, including assistant to the demanding Theo Ganas. Realizing it’s time to focus on self and career, Alba resigns and relocates to Dallas, only to unexpectedly find Theo has followed! In Dallas, Alba fights a long simmering attraction while Theo fights to break through the walls around Alba’s heart.

On The Hustle took the Boss-Assistant trope and intertwined it with the pitfalls of hustle culture. Alba’s determination to grow and seize every opportunity left her stretched thin while Theo’s desire to be everything to everyone made him miss what people truly needed. This book felt very current and relatable.

I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for a honest review.

The preview of On the Hustle was so good that I've already ordered the book! Alba Duarte is a hustler, and her least favourite job is being the assistant to the very cold Theo Ganas. When Alba finally quits to start her own interior design company, she is surprised when a suddenly flirty Theo shows up in Dallas to work on a home improvement tv show.

As someone from the Caribbean, I loved that Alba referenced home training!! There are so many relatable things in the first five chapters for anyone that's from the Caribbean. I really enjoyed seeing parts of my culture reflected in a romance book.

I generally just loved Alba. She was so funny and not taking shit from anyone, especially not Theo. Her voice and personality are well-defined and so enjoyable for me as someone that loves strong characters. I think people that don’t enjoy lots of cursing might not love Alba, but that is something that made her even funnier to me.

I loved the dual POV. Alba hates him but thinks he's hot, and Theo secretly thinks she is amazing. The contrast is fun to read.

I’m so excited to read the rest of the book!! Alba has definitely become one of my favourite characters.

I really enjoyed this preview! I haven't read anything by Adriana Herrera before but I've been hearing a lot of good things about this book so I decided to check it out. These first chapters have me hooked and I'm looking forward to reading the whole thing!

I went back to this book to give it a second chance- I am very glad that I did. I received the entire book and will leave my review there. This preview helped get me hooked to continue on the adventure this book had to offer.

From the first five chapters alone, I was already sure that I will be highly entertained and swooned by this gem and to think that this is the first one by Adriana Herrera that I have read. This preview not only made me want to read more of the book, but also read more of the entire series, not realizing when I picked this up that this is the second of the Dating in Dallas Series.

I greatly appreciated Theo’s reason for not pursuing Alba while she’s still in his employ and I just can’t wait to read more of their story.

Thank you to Carina Press & Carina Adores (Harlequin), NetGalley and the author for the chance to read this teaser.
