This was a thrill, angst, suspense, and all that kind of crazy feeling. When you don't know what will happen next when everybody around you seems like they're going to betray you or discover your work, what you do, and what your real profession is.

A spy and trilling double agent, historical fiction where you will get to know unforgettable characters like Miss Moneypenny that will make you feel like you're the one in the middle of the story.

The best part was the Narration by Saskia Maarleveld I really love her work, she always brings the best in the story and the characters and especially in historical fiction books. I love her voice.

Thanks to Harper Audio, and NetGalley for the advanced audio copy of The Midwife of Auschwitz in exchange for my honest review

I have been on a Historical Fiction kick lately, I know, but there are so many good HF novels releasing right now! This novel one of them! It is the amazing back story of Ian Fleming's Miss Moneypenny from the James Bond series. Filled with action and as glamorous as old Hollywood, this book and it's characters are interesting and memorable! Love that it is narrated by one of my favorites, #saskiamaarleveld ! She is phenomenal! Add
to your TBR list!

One woman is recruited by the Admiralty to work as secretary to Lt Cdr Ian Fleming and later became involved in a major deception.
The other is an entertainer and once wealthy young woman from Austria who is first recruited under duress by a German agent, and then by the man known as M, spending the war as a double agent.
I really enjoyed this engrossing double story.
Saskia Maarleveld is a delight to listen to because of her varied interpretation of each character and with appropriate dialect and/or non-English accent as well as the tone of her voice.
I requested and received a free temporary audio from HarperAudio via NetGalley. Thank you!

I always liked Moneypetty better than James Bond, who knew she was based on a real woman? In Blitz ravaged London, Paddy Bennett is expecting to land a secretarial job with the Intelligence Branch of the British Department of War, but she finds herself agreeing to help her new boss dupe the Nazis with false information about the Allied invasion and becomes a secret agent. Her biggest threat comes from another British female agent who turns out to be working for the Germans. A thrilling novel about impossible choices and personal courage
