Okay, so it requires some serious suspension of disbelief and is a bit formulaic at times, but honestly I loved Lane and Sam so much I didn't even care. The only thing is, as always with single POV romances, I wish we'd gotten some of Sam's POV as well.

Read some things that I didn't even know existed in the...ahem...bedroom. It wasn't a heavy read and which made that very nice to get through. It was a very short book but I truly enjoyed it. The writing was entertaining and funny as well. Overall it was a nice dirty book lol

The Anonymous Hookup is a fabulous romance by Jax Calder.
I need to start by saying that I am currently in love with everything by this author. The writing style, the storylines, and the characters continue to draw me in and keep me enamoured throughout.

In this book. is full of sexy moments and is pretty much relationship drama free. So, win-win.
All told from Lane's pov, this story follows Lane having a one night stand and then running into the man again.
The writing is fabulous, the storyline is wonderful, and the emotions are clearly felt throughout.

Definitely check out this book when you're in the mood for a feel good one night stand leading to love. You won't be disappointed.

Lane Fenwick is just out of a crappy relationship and isn't looking for anything serious right now, but he needs a way to get over his ex, Preston. Jules, his best friend, suggests a hookup – something Lane has never done – and write about an anonymous hookup for her blog. They agree it has to be the first person that catches his eye, and it has to be completely anonymous, no names, no information, no strings. Lane is nervous but willing to try. He never expects to see the most gorgeous man he's ever seen and when he is assertive and takes the leap by propositioning him. They share an amazing night and Lane is sad it can't be more, but he has a great memory. Until he runs into him at doggy daycare, could it be fate?

I loved watching this one play out. How they both tried so hard to keep it casual and it was everything but. It's the perfect amount of heat and sweet in this novella.

It was a fun, quick read and was the first from this author for me. I am interested in seeing what else they have to offer and will be checking out other titles.

Exceedinly fun and entertaining. Grin inducing, laugh eliciting and just an all around joy.
But the absolute audacity of making this a novella, I wanted 300 more pages of these two.
Excuse me while i go read every book Jax Calder has ever written, but not before I reread this.

Their story starts with an anonymous hookup when Lane is trying to ‘get back out there’ months after breaking up with his ex, and helping his best friend with a blog post bc why not?

After one really hot night, they don’t plan to see each other ever again. Little did they know that the universe would keep throwing them together over and over again.

Their dynamic was great and it was possible to feel their attachment naturally growing stronger. They get to know more and more about each other by mere chance (or the universe playing a hand again) and get to share experiences that bring them even closer.

There isn’t much individual character development here but that’s not a problem since this’s a novella, and seeing their development as a couple is already more than enough.

I’m totally checking out more of Jax Calder books. Also, I’d love to read more about these two cuties being cute and messy together.

What a delightful story this turned out to be. This is my first novel by Jax Calder and I know it won't be my last. Even though this is a short book the characters were perfectly fleshed out and the plot was solid. The Anonymous Hookup turned out to be the polar opposite even from day one. Lane and Sam tried to keep things super casual, even not allowing the other to know their real names. It turns out their worlds were as interconnected as their hearts were becoming, Low in angst but chock full of romance, I highly recommend this story.
Sam was my favorite and Lane was a little slow on realizing the best thing that ever happened to him was this so-called no-strings affair. I loved all the little surprises that were thrown into this tale. I know I reread this book because it gave me such good feels. Happy reading!

This author landed on my radar with her rugby romance books, but The Anonymous Hookup proves she’ll remain on my must-read list for every release.

The afterward for this novella states the story started as a short to cheer up the author, and I feel that’s quite possibly the best descriptor for it. Everything about The Anonymous Hookup is a mood lift. I loved the characters and how seamlessly they fit together after a random and cute meeting and I immensely enjoyed watching their budding romance.

Lane and Sam’s story is a delightful blend of sweet, steam, and swoon worthy moments. On top of that, the easy banter between characters is excellent and propels the story to make an easy read. Together these elements create an effortless love story with a sprinkling of fate guiding Sam and Lane together and it made me ridiculously happy.

The Anonymous Hookup is an easy recommendation if you want a book that will make you sigh and smile.

What can I say? This is my first book by Jax Calder and I really enjoyed this one. It’s a sweet, short story about an anonymous hookup leading to more. Of course, this book is a novella, so don’t expect the amount of story or character building you would get in a full-length novel. But I still think the short space was used really well. The characters were sweet and fit together well, and of course fate aligned perfectly to bring them together.
I would really recommend this, if your are looking for a read that is quick, cute and steamy at the same time and I#m definitely looking forward to reading more from this author!

This was my first Book by Jax Calder and I enjoyed it so so much. I have read in a couple of other reviews that it was "too predictable" and that it was ridiculous how everything aligned so perfectly, but you know what? That was exactly what I enjoyed about this book and what made me so so happy while reading. Of COURSE they would've met a different way. Of COURSE they were in the same room constantly. Of COURSE there were so many connections that it almost hurts. That was the absolute beauty of this book and what made me swoon. A near-perfect novella for an off day.

This novella was a really delightful surprise from an author I haven’t read before. The story and white banter wrapped me up so tightly I couldn’t put it down and had to finish in one sitting.

I really defiantly enjoy the “fate/mate” troupe and the author did a superb job making it believable for the majority of the book.

I’ll defiantly be looking for more from Jax Calder.

This was such a cute quick read. Both Sam and Lane as so likable and the way their lives have intertwined without even realizing made me smile and their relationship made my heart happy. The epilogue was so freaking perfect. Spice scenes feel more closed door than not, but not even that could stop me from enjoying this. ❤️

Would I ever have an anonymous hookup? Probably not. Would I read more books about anonymous hookups, especially if they were written by Jax Calder? Hell yes. 

This book was so good! What starts as an anonymous hookup as a way to “get back out there”, get over his ex, and help out his friend with a spicy blog post turns Lane’s world upside down when fate pushes him and Sam into each other’s lives over and over again. They play the no-name-game for as long as they can, but after spending weeks together and really getting to know each other, these two men can’t help but take things from anonymous hookup, to no-strings hookup, to the real deal.

“I’ve never fallen so hard and fast for anyone else before either, but I think… I think it just means it’s the real deal.”

Sam and Lane’s story is short and sweet, the plot moves along nicely and the reader gets to see the progression of their relationship in a series of weekly updates.
“The Anonymous Hookup” is a spicy, sweet, and funny novella that I would absolutely recommend and read again. I’ll be checking out more of Jax Calder’s books asap.

Dies ist meine zweite Geschichte der Autorin, und auch hier konnte sie mich wieder vollkommen überzeugen. Anders als Cover und Klappentext vermuten lassen, gibt es hier nur wenige, eher kürzere erotische Szenen, dafür aber sehr viele süße, gefühlvolle und liebenswerte Momente.
Lane hat eine schlimme Beziehung hinter sich und fühlt sich noch nicht bereit für etwas neues, aber er lässt sich von seiner besten Freundin zu einem One-Night-Stand überzeugen. Zwischen Lane und dem Mann seiner Wahl sprühen die Funken, doch Lane bleibt seinem Plan treu und erlaubt sich weder Namen auszutauschen, noch Telefonnummern. Schließlich wirkt es jedoch wie Schicksal, dass die beiden sich trotzdem wieder begegnen.
Ich mochte Lane und auch den "namenlosen" Mann sehr. Lane ist etwas schüchtern und unsicher in Bezug auf Männer, und seine letzte Beziehung hat dafür gesorgt, dass er große Angst vor einer erneuten festen Bindung hat. Sein netter Unbekannter sorgt jedoch geschickt dafür, Lanes Mauern zu durchbrechen und ihn Stück für Stück für sich zu gewinnen. Ich mochte die charmanten Dialoge zwischen den beiden und die Buchzitate, die immer mal wieder eingestreut wurden. Einige Wendungen in der Geschichte waren zwar vorhersehbar, aber ergaben sich schließlich doch anders, als ich es gedacht hätte, wodurch ich wiederholt überrascht wurde. Das Ende war zwar etwas kitschig, aber auch sehr süß und stimmig. Nur ein oder zwei Zufälle weniger hätte es für mich noch besser gemacht.

Fazit:
Eine sehr süße Kurzgeschichte, die mich noch viel besser als erwartet unterhalten hat und bei der ich mich sehr in die Protagonisten verliebt habe. Ich vergebe sehr empfehlenswerte 4,5 Sterne.

This is my second story by the author, and once again she was able to completely convince me. Contrary to what the cover and blurb might suggest, there are only a few, rather shorter, erotic scenes here, but many sweet, emotional and lovable moments.
Lane is out of a bad relationship and doesn't feel ready for anything new, but he lets his best friend talk him into a one-night stand. Sparks fly between Lane and the man of his choice, but Lane sticks to his plan and doesn't allow names or phone numbers to be exchanged. In the end, however, it seems like fate that the two meet again anyway.
I really liked Lane and also the "nameless" man. Lane is a bit shy and insecure around men, and his last relationship left him terrified of committing again. However, his nice stranger cleverly breaks through Lane's walls and wins him over bit by bit. I liked the charming dialogues between the two and the book quotes that were thrown in every now and then. While some of the twists in the story were predictable, they turned out differently than I expected, which repeatedly surprised me. The ending was a bit cheesy, but also very sweet and coherent. Just one or two fewer coincidences would have made it even better for me.

Conclusion:
A very cute short story that entertained me even better than I expected and made me fall in love with the protagonists. I award highly recommended 4,5 stars.

The Anonymous Hookup was my first read by Jax Calder but I instantly want to check out other titles by this author. Lane and Sam were adorable together. Their banter made me giggle and that epilogue? I may or may not have had tears in my eyes. Can you say swoon?

Also “Check matey.” I’m going to find a way to use that joke in my every day life. If I can be Alice when I grow up, that would be great.

This novella was perfection. It was just long enough to get the ever after but not drawn out. The spice was well done and the main characters were adorable. I really enjoyed this novella and look forward to reading more from this author.

This book starts out with the main character deciding he needs an anonymous hookup, and he gets one, but it’s quickly clear that the anonymity isn’t going to last. From there, this turns into a book about a couple that’s extremely compatible. It’s almost too much, since they quickly find out the number of similarities in their lives. Still, they have good sex and they communicate.

Jax Calder is one of those authors where each book is reliable. Is this the best m/m I’ve ever read? Not at all. But I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a m/m that’s fairly low angst.

I fell hard for this one! The author captures your attention from the beginning and develops the most amazing characters! This is not a cheesy hookup novella but a well-developed, well-written story that makes you swoon, just a little bit.

Smoldering and so sexy with an ending just rocked my world! Like everyone else, this would have been awesome if it was longer, but so much love for this one.

I know there will be more Calder books in my future!
