This title is an A+ pick for a going-to-bed book! The premise is simple and calming for a little one. My two year old wanted me to keep reading it again and again!

The muted and grey illustrations are great for relaxing and winding down for bedtime. It's also a very calming book to read. It is written in such a way that the pages can be read in a lulling manner.

Additionally, this little book is wonderful for helping challenge the thought that the dark is something to be afraid of. A great children's book all around! Thank you Orca Book Publishers for the ARC!

Welcome, Dark is a great bedtime story about what happens as humans go to sleep. My child loved looking at all the animals, and the illustrations of the rain drops landing in a puddle. The darkness of the illustrations still had so much dimension to them.

Welcome, Dark is a really lovely, calming book. I liked how it was all grayscale; that helped the calming element. This is the perfect bedtime book.

A beautifully illustrated ode to the nighttime, Welcome, Dark is perfect for kids (and adults, honestly) looking to learn to love the dark. The dark of night can be a scary place, with all the disembodied noises that kids may be experiencing or be aware of experiencing for the first time. Welcome, Dark is a lovely little book explaining the night and its secrets and why it is nothing to be feared.

I new book for young readers, using poetic words to express the magic of the night. The book is great for bedtime stories and will help parents connect to their children. The art work is beautiful, and shows natural beauty, and magic.
