This adorable little book is about two animals, who hope to become friends through a common friend- a tern, Except that they live on opposite ends of the planet! They agree to meet in the middle and set out on a long journey, discovering amazing places in our world. It's a fun travelogue kind of book that lots of kids are going to like.

Big the polar bear heard of Little Penguin, and vice versa. The need to meet each other is big, and so they decided to meet in the middle. A nice short lesson of geography in form of story telling, that is easier to digest than spreading the map with facts. Really enjoyed the illustration, the story and even the infographic at the end of the book,

This is so cute! Arctic Tern flies between the North and South Poles each year to nest and suggest to Polar Bear in the North and Penguin in the South that they should meet. So, they both set off on foot and enjoy lots of cool sights and adventures on their way to meeting in the middle.

Along with a sweet and fun story, this is a great geography lesson and introduction to notable landmarks in North, South, and Central America. There's so much to spark conversation with kids and inspire further research. The illustrations are lively, colorful, and full of fun details. This would be a great addition to elementary school and classroom libraries!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

I read this book with my daughter and she loved it!

It was very easy to read and follow and it was a great story, it was well developed and I loved the two main characters of Big and Little and their journeys from the north and south.

On the way you find out a little about the local environments and the animals that live in the areas that they pass as well as some of the scenery and important places of note.

It is 5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended!

Thank you to the author, Princeton Architectural Press and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book, pure and simple. The idea behind the story is genius - using the idea that the most extreme north and the most extreme south are similar in so many ways, but so far apart as the starting point and seeing what happens when you meet in the middle. The main point of the story is not so much the actual meeting, but looking at what happens when a polar bear from the North Pole and a penguin from the South Pole embark on a journey toward the middle, i.e. the equator. Both meet lots of local animals, travel through varied landscapes and climates - the illustrations are fantastic. Highly recommend!

A sweet story about a polar bear and penguin trying to meet each other. The book follows them through many different places as they journey to meet each other in Central America. This is a great intro to geography and climate for little ones!

This book has delightful illustrations that show the wonders of geography with both populations and place. The story is about two friends of an Arctic tern. Polar Bear and Penguin live on opposite ends of the world and want to meet. This is the story of their journey. It is a lovely and one that I highly recommend as a bedtime story or a purchase for a preschool library.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Princeton Architectural Press for this title. All opinions are my own.

Thanks to Netgalley and Princeton Architectural Press for a free digital copy.

A cute book that incorporates geography into a story about a polar bear and penguin meeting in the middle of their two habitats. I liked how fun and original it was.

I received and ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This story is absolutely adorable. The art is gorgeous and does a remarkable job of blending into the setting while also being consistent throughout the book. The rhyming kept a very readable rhythm and I loved the traveling through and introducing the beauty of the land of cultures of the Americas.

This is a beautyfull adventure that tells about big and little who cross many places to meet.
It tells about friendship also when you are miles away and tells about a compromis to meet somewhere it is good for both of you.

The illustrations  are colourfull and lovely to watch over and over again.
There is so much to see, so much Friends to meet.
Will u be a friend of them?
Will u go on a adventure?

The poetry is nice to hear and speak out loud because it feels if you are dancing on the words.

We all need a friend like big and little!

Will you meet them in the middle?

This was such a cute adventure story about a penguin and a polar bear traveling across North and South America to find each other. It provided great examples of different animals in different areas that the polar bear and penguin encountered on their journey. While this book had opportunity to teach about an area or animal a little more, providing the examples for kids to see is enough to get them asking questions another a location or animal they found interesting in the book. The illustrations carrying over to cover both sides to be one large picture was beautiful and will capture the attention of kids. Overall this would be a great book to have in an elementary classroom. Thank you Princeton Architectural Press for a copy for my honest review.

This. book tells the story of an arctic animal (polar bear) and an antarctic animal (penguin), the differences in their habitats and also of some of the worlds other continents and biomes as well. Illustrations include famous landmarks, animals and cultural elements from North and South America. With interesting pictures, and a chance to explore other countries and cultures, children will be interested and engaged when reading this book. It is also bound to spark many questions and could be used as a starting point for inquiry or research. I would recommend this book to parents and teachers of children in the age 4-9 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

Big & Little Meet in the Middle is a really cute story about a polar bear and penguin who travel to "meet in the middle" of the world. I loved the variety of animals each came across on their journey. The illustrations were cool and I loved the facts at the end!!

I was graned eARC access to Big & Little Meet in the Middle by Ian Webster through the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts are my own and my review is honest.

Big & Little Meet in the Middle is an adorable little children's story about a penguin from the south pole and a polar bear from the north pole who decide to take long walks and "meet in the middle" in Panama. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful, the premise is quite cute, and this story packs a whole lot of cultural knowledge and trivia into a short story.

There isn't a whole lot of text per page, so this is appropriate both as a read-aloud storytime or bedtime book read by adults and as a guided or quiet reading book read by the child.

This is an amazing book. In the North Pole there's Big the Bear who is very shy and in the South Pole is Little Penguin who swims but cannot fly. When learning of each other they just knew that they would have to meet but unfortunately neither could fly so they will have to use their feet to reach each other.

Each sets off on the long trek across North (Big Bear) and South America (Little Penguin) to have "face time" in the middle. Along their journey they encounter many new animals: some guanacos, a lone wolf, a chatty raven, a curious coati. a herd of bisons and many kinds of jungle animals playfully having fun, just to name a few. Bear discovers the Golden Gate Bridge and Little Penguin dances at the Rio Carnival.

At long last the friends meet right in the middle and enjoy a fishy snack because telling tales to each other is very hungry work.

This educational book showcases the marvelous treasures that lie between the North and South Poles. With playful rhyme and beautiful illustrations children will be introduced to the geography of the Americas, the Arctic, and Antarctica plus engage in the sights and sounds of diverse and pleasing attractions as the two best friends make their way to finally meet and enjoy each other's company in real time. The last page offers a map of their adventures with documented highlights of their extraordinary trip.

"Big & Little Meet in the Middle" is a wonderful tale and I highly recommend it.

This book is very educational. It shows a lot of wonderful places located in the two Americas. The drawings and coloring were very well done and I loved the rhymes. I liked the idea behind it and the execution was perfect.

I remember, as a child, being absolutely floored to learn that penguins and polar bears never meet. They're from two different hemispheres. And this book investigates the obvious question: what would happen if they met?

A bit less about the actual meeting, this book is more an exploration of environments as we leave the poles and head towards the equator. We meet lots of local animals along the wat, from wolves and bison in the north, to guanacos, coati, and pink Amazon River dolphins in the south. And, in the middle polar bear and penguin share their stories...and a pile of fish.

The landscapes in this book are great. Wide expanses, varied plants, and local fauna to show how different our planet can be.

My kid enjoyed this one a lot. Especially the penguin in a pancho! Very cute.

Well this gave me a beaming smile, so I should only expect the same from younger audiences. It starts with an Arctic tern and its mahoosive migration, and the idea it has made friends first with a polar bear ("Big") oop north, and with a penguin ("Little") down south. When the two hear tell of each other, they decide to travel towards a potential meeting ground in the middle, as the title proves. By switching animal at each page turn the momentum of the story is sustained, and the fact this is (really pretty decent) rhyming narrative just adds to the jolliness – as do the quite unexpected, if straight-line-challenged, dramas and locations both face. This might be a book to remind very young readers there is more to the Americas than the 50 States, but to me this is just a silly bit of implausible verse, done in top-notch fashion. As close to five stars as makes no difference – not even the ridiculous changes in relative size and scale in the art put me off this frivolous joy.
