This book is captivating and thrilling. it goes to show who you can connect and latch on to when feeling isolated, despair and lonely especially with grief and loss in the mix. Great read.

A powerful and hauntingly dark physcological thriller. Sue's father has died and she feels lost that is until she runs into her former nanny but there are so many secrets and lies you won't know who to trust.

This book was slow. I found it to be predictable, and found it hard to connect with the characters. I did enjoy the flashbacks. I didnt like the animal abuse, it was a turn off.

I just could not put this book down. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book.

This is the story of a nanny who becomes over involved with the child she was caring for. They meet later in life, with a strange bond.
An interesting read, more of a women's fiction than a mystery or thriller, describing the feelings between them.

This was a brilliant read. I just knew from the start that I was going to like this book from the start. It certainly had a very creepy story. You just k ow there is going to be a great plot twist and I wasn't disappointed. This is a great medium pace book that builds up to a big end. The author did a brilliant job at creating a wonderful sense of atmosphere and tension. I loved just how dark this psychology thriller got. About 3/4 of the way in I got a bit confused and it took me a while to get back on track. It was creepy how jealous she became. There was some very shocking events. Some that some might find a little much but because its fiction and not real you can go that far to show what the nanny will go to get what she wants. I definitely recommend this book is you like dark psychological dangerous thrillers. Stories of obsession that characters will go to any length.

So much praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating this creepy, dark and exciting thriller. I will definitely be looking out for more books by this brilliant author.

Sue Keller is lost. When her father dies suddenly, she's orphaned in her mid-twenties, her mother having died long ago. Then Sue meets Annie. It's been twenty years, but Annie could never forget that face. She was Sue's live-in nanny at their big house upstate, and she loved Sue like she was her own.
Craving comfort and connection, Sue is only too eager to welcome Annie back into her life. But as they grow close once more, Sue begins to uncover the truth about Annie's unsettling time in the Keller household all those years ago, and the dark secrets that bind these women together.

This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
Recommend reading.

I was provided an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher. This is my own honest voluntary review.

After reading the description for Nanny Dearest I was really looking forward to it but unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. I found the plotline to be quite slow and I really struggled to get into it. It just did not work for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC.

This book was not for me! I thought by the description I would really enjoy it but I was really disappointed. It was sedentary......I did finish it but it was a difficult read.

Things really believe to be perfect when you have that memory of the past. But once things become more clear it is a complete wake up call to seeing how intense someone can be especially when they believe you are theirs. This was a great thriller to read and I enjoyed how it went from past to present. Lots of moments to keep you gripped. Great thriller.

This book took me a while to read, being honest. As it was so intense, I had to spend short bursts reading it in order to digest it.
A well-to-do, dysfunctional family needed a nanny; Anneliese was chosen to look after their precious daughter, Susanna.
Annie loved Susie as if she were her own, but she loved her too much and was jealous of other's interference on their time together.
Later on in life, Susanna 'bumped' into Annie and their relationship rekindles....but Annie was not telling the whole truth about the past.
This is a must read.

Nanny Dearest Flora Collins

4 stars

Sue Keller has had a privileged upbringing as an only child in a beautiful house. She was doted on by both parents, showered with gifts and had a caring nanny. Her mother had died when Suzy was only 3 but her father takes over her care and looks after her almost too obsessively. However as this book starts, Suzy is now 25 and still grieving the death of her father a year before. She is barely hanging onto her job or her few friends and is severely depressed.

A chance meeting with her nanny of long ago gives her a new lease of life. Anneliese is now 43 and looking after her sister’s young children but is overjoyed to re-connect with the child she doted on when Suzy was a baby. Suzy in desperate need of love and affection falls under Anneliese’s spell and soon is spending almost every moment with her even leaving her job and casting aside her friends.

However it soon becomes obvious to the reader that there is something very wrong with Anneliese who has an obsessive need to complete subjugate Suzy to her will. Gradually the author builds up the background by switching between the past and the future and we learn about some of the terrible things Anneliese has done and slowly but surely so does Suzy.

I really enjoyed the building up of the suspense and the way the whole story becomes clear. My only disappointment was that I did not like the ending and I thought it could have been dealt with in a better way but overall this was a very interesting book to read and I would like to read more by this author. .

The pace was sedentary at times but I enjoyed the back story alternating between present day chapters, this built up quite a suspenseful atmosphere.

Despite this I found the ending disappointing, as if the author was giving a brief precis of the ending of a film.

Took me a while to get through this one, but I managed to finish it.
By the description I thought I'd enjoy this book and finish it in 1-2 days. It took me weeks.

It wasn't the book for me, but that's not to say you won't enjoy it.
The animal abuse wasn't needed and the ending was abrupt and unbelievable.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sue is orphaned in her twenties and as she is coming to terms with it she meets Annie who used to be her nanny many years ago. The book is told in two timelines, present day by Sue and past by Annie.
This was a mixed feelings read for me. It had a interesting premise but it fell short in some areas. It was slow to get into and some bits where hard to read.
Thanks to #netgalley for this ARC.

Split between upstate New York in the nineties and present-day Manhattan, Nanny Dearest is a darkly addictive psychological thriller of power, privilege, secrets and obsession, which will keep readers turning the pages right up to the shocking end.

Wow totally gripping really enjoyable read totally recommend

Have read above that this book includes animal abuse and torture,so am afraid is a non starter of a read for me,not sure why this has to be included in books

This was a bit of a slow burn for me and I struggled to really find that connection to the story. It did get more interesting by mid way and the tension is certainly ramped up. It was a bit dark for me, I did skip the odd page or two since it was a bit brutal but some people won't mind that imagery. It was quite predictable so if you've read a lot of thrillers then you'll probably know where this is going quite early on but it's not the wort book I've come across hy Amy means. For those new to the genre then I'm sure it'd go down well but for me, it felt like ove read it 100 times before
