Stunning descriptions of the North American landscape, the forestry and fauna are so vivid. The narrator who has an expressive almost meditative voice and a soft native accent which makes this a joy to listen to. It was so interesting to learn about the native culture and the methods of tracking and hunting, being at one with the land. A very beautiful book.

Thanks to NetGalley and University of Alberta Press for the audiobook ARC!

Crow Never Dies is a fascinating insider look at the Great Hunt, a tradition from almost before time. The author does a great job of showing the First Nation people in all of their glory while taking the reader on an unforgettable journey that far too few experience these days.

I have very little knowledge of First Nation history and folklore so I was curious about this. The audio book was nice and felt like the stories were being told to you. Gerry Glinski did a good job with narrating.

I learned so much about the culture and life in the Northwest territories. Some interesting points were how living alongside nature requires stewardship and effort on the part of humans. It was also interesting that not all aspects of life were as 'sustainable' as we might think it was - like how when there were numerous dog sled teams, before snowmobiles, the fish population suffered. There was nice aspects of the culture illuminated as well - for example how commercial freezers allowed people to store an entire kill for themselves and not need to share it with the community.

I think I would have liked to hear more women's voices in the book. But overall this was very educational and a good resource to learn about people of the First Nations.

Thank you NetGalley for the preview of the audiobook

Very interesting stories.

A great book packed with historical information about these areas of Indigenous people.

I learned a lot of these areas of Canada that not many people have really ever been to.

It somewhat reminded me of [book:Never Cry Wolf: The Amazing True Story of Life Among Arctic Wolves|72659].

Would recommend!

I think that the oral version of this book is perfect as it made my mind follow what was being told and visualize it.
It's an interesting mix of myths, everyday life, new, and remarks.
I learned something new and I found the mix fascinating.
If you are interested in First Nation and Canadian history this is an excellent book.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
