Bree and Matt have to solve a new case: the murder of a digital marketer. When the killer strikes again a day later, they quickly see the link : both victims were players on the internet dating scene. But everyone they interview seem to be lying or hiding something. They have to act fast, because the killer now targets someone Bree loves.
This is book 6 in the Bree Taggert series, but the first one I read, and it can very well be read as a standalone (although I will go back and read the rest of the series). The pace was good, the characters were very dynamic, there were plenty of twists and turns (although I did find it a bit predictable). This murder mystery with a hint of romance is told in dual POV, one of which is the killer's.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Bree and Matt are again chasing a serial killer in Grey's Hollow. Two murders in two days -- both men who use dating apps and are known to be players. Someone Bree loves is the next target, so Bree and Matt must quickly work through a long list of suspects and many lies to catch the killer.

Lie to Her is well-paced and intriguing. While this book isn't as twisty as others in this series, I enjoyed how Bree and Matt worked together to solve the case. I couldn't put down my Kindle as I read the final chapters due to the dramatic, suspense-filled ending!

One of my favorite aspects of this Bree Taggert series is how we see Bree's growth as part of each installment, but it doesn't overpower the main storyline. In the previous book, Dead Against Her, we saw Bree settling in as sheriff, aunt/guardian, and girlfriend. Well, she needed every bit of that new contentment to deal with the challenges in this case. It was nice to see those around her finding their footing too.

I continue to love every book in this series. I can't believe there are only two more left!

I received an early copy of this book from Montlake and NetGalley. This voluntary review reflects my honest opinion.

LOVED it!!! I absolutely love the Bree Taggert Series and the books never disappoint. So many twists and turns, surprises around every corner. Bree is one tough lady. She handled everything perfectly and didn't kill anyone. I'm pretty sure she wanted to kill the murderer, especially for targeting someone she loves. I couldn't put this book. I had no idea who the killer was going to be but was convinced it had to be one of the girls from the dating app. I never suspected who the mastermind behind everything was, until it was finally revealed. This person spent so much time watching his/her victims and planning everything out. These people were crazy with all those snakes in the house. I would have been terrified to go in a house with a rattlesnake loose.
Dana and Bree are the perfect "parents" for Kayla and Luke. I would LOVE a Dana in my life. Her food always sounds amazing. Fingers crossed that the couple who buys horses together, stays together. Love Beast!!! Bree and her team has job security with all the murders that keep happening around them in their quiet little town. It's hard to believe all of this has taken place in less than a year. Hopefully, Matt, Bree and the kids enjoy their vacation and no one tries to kill them. Vader wins the award for being a cat. He licks the butter and purposely pushes Bree's keys off the counter.

Definitely recommend the book and all the previous one in the series. I can't wait to see what's next for Bree and Matt. Loved the characters, story and writing style. Look forward to reading more books by the author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Montlake through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The small town of Grey’s Hollow once again has a horrific murder happen, then another, is a serial killer loose?

Bree Taggert, her investigator/boyfriend Matt and Deputy Todd are feverishly following clues trying to figure out who the killer is. A few things link the murders: dating sites, dishonest men and deadly snakes! This was a very fast-moving story, well-crafted and twisted. Throw in the growing relationship between Bree, Matt, her brother and her niece and nephew and it’s also a heartwarming story.

Highly recommend and looking forward to the next book in the series.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Lie to Her by Melinda Leigh is an amazing book that I couldn't put down. I read it in one night! I highly recommend this book

Goodness gracious, the close call in this story had me on pins and needles. Sheriff Bree needed to solve these puzzles fast, time was not on her side, and things were not looking in favor of her family. Operating under stress and anger wasn’t a good complement, but Sheriff Bree made it look easy.

Lie To Her by Melinda Leigh is book #6 in the Bree Taggert series. Sheriff Bree Taggert and her family are getting ready for Christmas which Bree thinks could be tough on her niece Kayla and nephew Luke as it will be their first Christmas since their mother's death. But first it's off to a horse auction to get a rescue horse for Bree's brother, Adam's birthday. Fortunately all that gets settled before the call comes in - a body, murdered in a gruesome way. From that call on Bree and her boyfriend Criminal Investigator Matt Flynn face danger as they pursue their investigation. When it becomes obvious that the threat gets personal even more suspense is felt. I loved this storyline. It has it all: action and suspense, but also a warmth of family. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Another thrilling, action packed chapter of the Bree Taggert Series. We are now very familiar with the continuing characters, and they feel like old friends. The bizarre murder of a serial dater sets off escalating violence that threatens Bree's loved ones. The suspense builds and keeps you fully engaged.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the Publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love Melinda Leigh’s books and the Bree Taggert series has become one of my favorites. Lie To Her is a great addition to the series and it was a blast to get back into Bree’s world.

The investigation and mystery are always interesting to follow, however, what keeps me glued to the page are the characters and their relationships.

I enjoy not only the romantic connections but also the familial and friendly ones we get to witness along the way. The glimpses with the kids, Dana, Cady and Matt, are what makes this series so awesome.

I recommend anything Melinda Leigh writes. If you enjoy a procedural with heart, this is the series for you :)

Thank you Montlake and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. 5 stars for DNF as I cannot comment on the overall quality of the book. I'm a fan of the "romantic suspense" sub-genre and looked forward to reading this prolific author. Unfortunately, the writing was a bit too "tell" instead of "show" for me.

Now that’s a fast paced read!

I haven’t read all the books in this series but I can tell you this: you can pick up any book and enjoy it as a standalone.

Cos the characters are really dynamic; the plot is thick and twisted; also check out for the subtle romance!

I like the writing so much. The first few pages starts like we are in the midst of a very fast paced thriller. And that’s what impressed me.

This perfect rating is for the absence of any slow part (which is very important for me to enjoy a suspense/thriller).

I love this book more as it sticks to the blurb and the blurb is exactly what you get for the plot.

But I say all the fun is in trying to save the character you care about while reading a book in which someone is trying to kill them!

Thank you, Montlake, for the advance reading copy.

This series has become a favorite of mine this year and it’s all because of Bree. She’s an excellent main character- her life was completely upheaval almost a year ago and while she’s still finding her balance she’s doing really well. She’s in a stable relationship with Matt (and they are making future plans), her niece and nephew are doing much better and so is her brother. After the events of the last book, Bree struggles a little bit with finding her balance with work again wanting to take it all on herself and not risk anyone else’s safety. With her current case unraveling quickly and the potential danger of venomous snakes, Bree does everything she can to keep everyone safe but sometimes she can’t prevent harm done to other especially the ones she cares about most.

Thank you to #NetGalley and #Montlake for my copy of #LieToHer by #MelindaLeigh
Sheriff Bree Taggert and criminal investigator Matt Flynn are called when a man is found dead in his home. There is no way this is anything other than murder with the victims head covered in plastic wrap. Once the wrap is removed they find the word liar cut into his forehead, but what has he lied about. Focusing on the dating apps he frequently used the detectives start to hunt for clues but then there’s another murder.
Can they find the killer before the next victim.

The latest installment in the Bree Taggart series and its a good one. As life starts getting on a even keel, with Bree looking after her niece and nephew, a killer is targeting men who use dating apps.
I really like this series, it's refreshing to read a detective novel where life is good for the main characters, this novel sent me on completely the wrong tangent and had a few red herrings along the way. Looking forward to the next book

Another great addition to the Bree Taggert series.

Bree and Matt are up against another serial killer and this one may have picked a victim a tad close to them! The killer seems to be picking victims from the online dating world - the victims are all horrible people but you can't help feeling sorry for the family they left behind.

I'm so happy that Bree and Matt are now "out" to their world. The romance is most definitely background for the murder/mystery but it does help to make them feem like "real people". It would have been nice to see some of the discussions they allude to, for example, where they talk about PDA at work/in public, etc. Along with Dana, best friend extraordinaire, their unusual family dynamic works. The kids are more secure and the Sheriff's Dept finally has some capable in charge.

There is a great selection of secondary characters too. Kady and Todd, the Sheriffs Office team, and then the possible murder suspects and their families. I could have done with a TW about the slithery monsters, I admit I had to flick past that scene in particular 'cos, just NOOOOOOOOO!

The interconnected worlds of Scarlet Falls and Morgan Dane series makes for a fully formed and colourful world. The town is beginning to feel more and more like a real place. Onwards and upwards for more Bree soon hopefully!

3rd person POV for Bree and Matt and 1st Person PV when with the serial killer

Lie to Her, by Melinda Leigh, is a fast paced police thriller with just a touch of romance. I also loved the family aspect of it with the main character raising her niece and nephew. Lots of sweetness mixed with all the suspense. I look forward to more books by this writer.
Sheriff Bree Taggert is called to the scene of a man's murder. She arrives to a gruesome scene to find that the victim has been killed in his own yard. It's also obvious that the killer was angry with the victim and made him suffer.
Bree and her partner, Investigator Matt Flynn, have reason to believe that the victim's dating app profile is the best place to start their investigation. Unfortunately, 24 hours later, there's another victim murdered in the same way. This new victim is also on the same dating app as the first one was. Is the motive really as obvious as it looks, though? Bree and Matt aren’t so sure. Now they're in a race to catch the killer before they strike again.

Bree is back and so is her team and the investigations she has to do with them.
I love this series and it’s becoming one of the few that I really love and enjoy with each new stand alone instalment.
The author has created a perfectly balanced character, we get to see her flaws but also how strong and ambitious she is throughout the hardest times she mets in her career.
This one is as suspenseful and intriguing as usual and one that should not be missed.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy
