The sixth book in the Sheriff Bree Taggart series didn't disappoint, nor will it disappoint established fans.

Thrilled for the opportunity to read this Arc.
This series just keeps getting better. The bodies start to pile up quickly and again Bree enlists Matt to help find the killer. From online dating to snakes on the loose it’s a wild ride.
Highly recommend this author and series.

Lie to Her is the sixth book in the Sheriff Bree Taggart series. For some reason the series has passed me by but I’ll be rectifying that now, and it in no way stopped my enjoyment of this book, the back story is easily picked due to how well written the story is.
Bree and her partner Matt have a relationship that is growing in depth and love and they are a great couple, with Matt a criminal investigator he joins with Bree when a murder occurs. They discover the murdered man has been using a dating app and when another murder victim is found very soon after with startling similarities they realise they may have a serial killer at large.
This is such a well constructed criminal thriller with twists and turns with an ending that really surprised me, I had it all worked out…or so I thought!
Such an enjoyable book, I look forward to reading the previous ones now.
My thanks to net galley and publisher Montlake for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

The latest in the Bree Taggert series is just as good as all the others. The relationship between Bree and Matt provides just enough romance but not over the top. The killer using dating apps was an intriguing story line. The book kept be engaged and had a good twist about halfway through.
Another great book that I highly recommend. Thanks NetGallery for my ARC.

This was fantastic!!!

How did I come into this series with the last book! After reading this I've quickly gone to the Kindle store to start book 1!!

Someone is upset with the men on dating apps who lie and cheat. The revenge they set out to enact is brutal in its level of pain and panic.

Sheriff Bree Taggart has inherited her sister's life with her death. Bree has to give up her loner life to raise her nephew Luke and niece Kayla, keeping the kids living on their family farm with their pets and horses. Bree's relationship with a work colleague Matt Flynn is moving towards a commitment . Her artist brother Adam has come back to help raise the kids too.

Discovery of a sadistically murdered victim leads Bree to a dating app site and women the victim has recently dated. The death toll continues and it soon becomes personal. Who is this mastermind? Can Bree and her force get to the next murder scene before the murder is carried out?

I found this a very engrossing novel and look forward to more of Bree Taggart.

Another fantastic installment in the Bree Taggert series! Never to disappoint, Bree and Matt are on the hunt for a killer who strikes fast and hard and leaves no trace. Along the way, readers will believe they know who the murderer is. There plenty of twists and turns to the story, especially when Bree's family is targeted..

Loved that latest entry in the Bree Taggert series! This can be read as a stand-alone, although of course it is more enjoyable if you have followed the characters and their development from earlier novels.

In this sixth installment, sheriff Bree Taggert and her professional and romantic partner Matt investigate the gruesome murders of men who have been using dating apps to woo and then discard women. Who is targeting these men? I raced through this to find out. A particularly effective device was having some chapters told from the first person viewpoint of the murderer, forcing you to be in their shoes and try to figure out who they are. The tension of the investigation is relieved somewhat by glimpses into the characters’ personal lives. Readers get to see the burgeoning relationship between Bree and Matt, as well her home life with her murdered sisters’ children. Highly recommended!

Another great book in this series I love. I love Bree and Matt. This one is about a killer using dating apps to find the victims. It kept me guessing until the end. I look forward to the next Bree book

This is book 6 of Bree Taggert series

When a digital marketer is found murdered in his backyard hands bound and face smothered by plastic wrap Sheriff Bree Taggert and criminal investigator Matt Flynn respond to the call. Their investigation focuses on the man’s dating app profile and the word liar carved into his forehead.
One day later, the killer strikes again.
Both victims are players in the internet dating scene. In their wake, they leave a trail of hurt and angry women. But Bree and Matt aren’t convinced the motive is as simple as it appears. Everyone they interview seems to be lying or hiding something.
As the list of suspects grows, the killer’s rage escalates, and he leaves a personal and deadly warning for Bree. They must act fast. Because someone Bree loves is targeted as the next to die.
Really enjoyed this book totally recommend
Thank You NetGalley and Montlake

“Everything in life was bittersweet.” (quote from ARC)

The perfect balance between romance and suspense, with incursions into domesticity and family life, “Lie to Her”, by Melinda Leigh (Montlake), brings back the interesting and very lovable characters from the Bree Taggert Series that we love to read about.
Juggling a stressful and demanding job as Grey’s Hollow sheriff with her sudden parenting duties, Bree is confronted with new crimes to investigate, with the help of a very cooperative team, including civilian consultant K-9 handler Matt, now publicly known as her boyfriend.
This is just a well written, with very likeable characters you’ve come to know and love: Bree and her family and friends, Matt, the staff at the station, including Todd and Marge.
Bree’s compassion and empathy soften her duties as the sheriff, and that’s what makes her character so compelling.
Matt is always a great male hero, and it’s great to watch the affection, complicity and love between these two.
Todd and Cady (Matt’s sister) is another couple I really enjoyed seeing, both as individuals and as professionals.
Grey’s Hollow surely is a busy small town in terms of crime and murders; but I didn’t mind the suspense of disbelief, including Adam’s involvement.
Adam is turning to be such an awesome character; I hope he will have a romantic partner, too.
And Dana, a former detective and Bree’s partner, now retired, also deserves some follow-up (she’s so wonderful with the family, so supportive).
The portrayal of both Bree’s family life and the meticulous and often boring police work are top notch.
A great read, very enjoyable and entertaining!

It is the continuation of Sheriff Bree Taggert's story. Christmas and the anniversary of Bree's sister's death is fast approaching. Bree is starting to adjust to family life with her niece and nephew, but worries about the impact of the upcoming holiday/anniversary. To make matters worse, a serial killer is on the loose and getting a little to close for Bree's comfort.

I am a huge fan of Melinda Leigh's books, so when I was able to read an early copy I was thrilled. This book only took me two days to read because it was too good to put down. It did not take long to catch up with the characters, and felt like visiting family. The mystery of who the killer is leaves you guessing until the very end. I really want to know how the story continues. If you love romantic suspense, this book, and series, if for you!

I still have whiplash from this book.

This book was fast paced, high octane from the first to the last page. I couldn’t put it down. And as it’s book 6, it’s so easy to fall back into the story with this cast of characters.

This author has a way of grabbing you from the beginning and not letting go. Well after you finish, you are still wanting more.

Melinda Leigh has the perfect blend of crime, thriller, suspense with a splash of romance that gives the characters depth and humanity. I’m looking forward to more of her books.

This is my first foray into the Bree Taggert series and now I'm wondering why it took me so long to pick one up! Even starting in the middle of the series I didn't feel like I was playing a ton of catch-up, even though I know there are a lot of backstories to Bree and Matt and their families.

A killer is targeting men who use dating apps to basically use women as disposable toys, and Bree Taggert and her Inspector boyfriend need to figure it out quickly before more and more men are killed. It seems like everyone who they interview has secrets and ends up lying to them, so wading through the lies makes it even more complicated on top of the time crunch. Not only do we have Bree and Matt's point of views, Melinda added the point of view of the killer for this book and it had me guessing (somewhat incorrectly at first) who was the killer. I even felt some slight sympathy towards the killer at the beginning, seeing as the men that were being killed really were "bad guys". I really loved Bree's no-nonsense and kick-ass attitude and how she and Matt really complimented each other as a team.

Bree really reminded me of Eve Dallas from the J.D. Robb In Death books - if you love that series, check out this one! I plan on going back to read some of the earlier books in the series.

Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my
Copy of this book.

When a man is found dead, suffocated with plastic wrap and liar carved into his forehead, sheriff Bree Taggert and her investigator (and boyfriend) Matt Flynn are called in. Then another victim is found.

What is the link between these two men and dating apps. Why is everyone lying to the sheriff. What link do rattlesnakes have? And who is in danger next?

This was a great book that kept me reading the whole way through. Some nice family time sprinkled throughout and I loved the horse descriptions.

Bree and Matt’s relationship is great to see developing as well as her new domestic role as auntie to her sister’s children. I enjoy this style of book with a strong female lead character.

This was a quick read for me and I enjoyed it. 5 star

So this was a fantastic read in the Bree Taggert series. Maybe because this is the first one where Leigh decided to have us follow the murderer the way we did. I was honestly surprised by the reveal of who it was too (which I always love) and loved the back and forth chapters following Bree and Matt via third person point of view to the first person point of the view of the murderer. It also had me kind of going well they sucked with the victims, but you feel some pity for the people they left behind. I loved that this one took on the world of online dating (did that, have the t-shirt, it's bad out there) and how love can quickly turn to hate. I gave this a very enthusiastic 5 stars.

"Lie to Her" takes place several months after the events in the last book. Bree has come out in public that she is dating Matt. She's trying to deal with the fact that her niece and nephew are going to experience their first Christmas without their mother. She's worried about them and wants to spend some more time with them, but of course murder calls. Bree is called to a scene where a man is found with his head wrapped in plastic with his hands and legs tied. An investigation into the man's past shows he could have made some of the women he dated angry (he was a three date max person) or it could have been his slightly estranged brother. But when another man is found dead a day or so later, it appears that Bree and Matt may be dealing with a serial killer.

So per usual the main mystery/murder is our focus. We get a few "I love yous" between Bree and Matt. But honestly, is anyone else getting any heat here? We do get a fade to black sex scene, but it just feels a bit like their relationship is not the main draw to things at all. I mean if you are going to do romantic suspense, I would just like to see more of the 'romance' if possible. And I hate that we hear things as a reader that they have discussed. For example, it's brought up they discussed that there would be no displays of affection between them at work. Reasonable right? But I would have liked a scene with them even discussing that. I sometimes forget they are a couple except when Matt frets about their lack of time with Bree. At the end though it seems like their relationship is moving into a new direction, so we will see.

The relationship between Todd and Cady which was welcomed, I felt a bit letdown about. We don't get to really see them together outside of a quick scene. Am I asking too much? Do I just want hot and heavy sex scenes? I don't know.

The main mystery though of who is killing these men who are just kind of awful with regards to how they treat other women though was great. I was very curious on how Leigh would wrap this up and I enjoyed the ride. I did not enjoy the snakes though. Yeah if you have a snake phobia, you may want to skip this one.

The writing/dialogue was great and I really loved the flow of this book.

The setting of this one always has me intrigued. I love that this book takes place in the same time/place as Scarlet Falls and the Morgan Dane series. I think I just like books more when they link up to other series that the author writes. You get to see older characters pop up which is always nice. You don't get a pop up in this one like the last book though.

The ending left things on a hopeful note for the entire Taggert clan as well as Matt and his family too.

Another great installment in the Taggert series. I love the characters in these. I would have liked more of the family, but a fast paced, satisfying mystery.

A killer who is killing men who are using dating apps to use women. Humm, was I supposed to root for the killer or the feel sorry for the victims.. HA just kidding.

Sheriff Bree Taggert and her criminal investigator Matt Flynn are surprised when they arrive at the murder scene with the obvious personal rage that was inflicted on the victim. While they are still investigating that murder there is another..

Along with the investigations into the murders we get plenty of family time with Bree and the kids. Its heartwarming how far they have come in their grief after losing their mother (Bree's sister). Loved all the horse scenes.

4* Not quite a good as book 5, due the 'plant' towards the end, but still very good.

It's always a thrill to be able to get hold of an ARC by this author and this tale doesn't disappoint. ML did well to build up the biggest red herring in the tale, so much so that I didn't see the twist coming and the reveal of the actual killer. She kept things just on the right side of being casual that I fell for it. I did get a tiny inkling about where it might be going with the mention of a failed date towards the end, but again, I was wrong about the baddie in question. The kille's flit to a house at the end, seemed a little unrealistic and drawn out but all ended well.

On top, there's some sweet scenes of family life and with the children continuing to heal with the help of the animals in their lives, and the new additions to the family. It's lovely to see a fully healed Todd and that he's actually now in the relationship that's been brewing over the last couple of books, with a furry healer of his own. Matt and Bree's relationship gets very little page time, but you know they're building something solid and they're not giddy teens, so it works for them. The ending was particularly nice, with a family event, though it looked like Dana, who's an integral part of their family, wasn't being included. This series shows no signs of stopping, and thank goodness for that - the low-key but intense tales are some of the best police procedurals out there.
