Lie to her is a 6 book in series of Bree Taggert. Two men founded dead with a plastic wrap. All links to a dating app and women they’ve seen. Could a woman did a spotless, bloodless murder of 2 strong men? Was it all adrenaline, pure range, or something else? Detective Taggert need to solve this fast, until someone she loved could be next.
The book has a limited number of characters, but I still got fooled at the end. I wasn't hooked at the obvious lead. However, I didn't guess the main suspect.
A lot changed in the past year, and Bree need to build a strong family environment for her nephews. And spent more time with his brother Adam. Trying not to ruin everything this time.

I like the characters build. All strong and passion, carrying and loving family. Don't forget how much Bree love horses. Their relationship with Matt - top, super professional and predictable, but still charming. And Todd. His relationship with Cady one of my favorite. Actually, all relationship in this book is green flag.
Book got from me strong 4. Recommended.

I loved this book on the newest Bree Taggert series. I love Bree and Matt so I’m happy that it sounds like we will be getting more from them.

I hope the next book gives us more insight on them. I love Matt for Bree. I think Bree is so selfless and she handles the criticism that comes with her job especially as a woman well.

This was a great case they have to solve! I love that we got a different side of Adam but we also got an insight into Matt’s sister and a possible future relationship with another hot cop who I can’t say much on because it would be a spoiler.

Can’t wait to read about more of Bree and Matt and the next case they get! Also love the crossover to Morgan and lance!

This is book 6 of the Bree Taggert series. This was another fantastic read in the Bree Taggert series. This book takes place a few months after Bree confirms she is seeing Matt, and she is preparing to face her niece and nephew's first Christmas without their mother. She wants to spend more time with them and is trying to find a better work/life balance while growing her relationship with Matt, but she is the Sherriff and duty calls at all hours. Bree gets called to a crime scene where a man is found with his head wrapped in plastic wrap and his legs tied along with a message. A few days later, another man is found wrapped in plastic with another message. Is there a serial killer in their community?
Bree and Matt agree to avoid PDA especially while at work but they don't seem like they are in the early stages of a relationship and have no real spark. Todd and Cady seem to have more attraction in their relationship and they are not even acknowledging the relationship yet! Bree's brother and Dana also play a bigger part in this book,, which is also nice to see.
The story moves along at a good pace and the plot keeps the reader guessing as to who is the real killer. The characters are likable but could use a little more development in some areas. I would really like to know what Luke's thoughts are since he is carrying a large load for a young man his age.
Enjoyed this one very much! Thank you to the author, NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I can’t believe this is book 6 in the series. And while a few years have passed for us since the series began, time moves slower in Greys Hollow. It’s almost been a year since Bree Taggert lost her sister and moved to the small town to look after her niece and nephew.
In ‘Lie to Her’ Bree and her criminal investigator boyfriend Matt Flynn are called to the scene of a murder. A man has been found bound and suffocated by plastic at his home. Within 24 hours Bree and Matt are investigating another murder with eerie similarities. Bree doesn’t want to say the words ‘serial killer’ but the local press is definitely calling the murders that.
Racing against the clock and a personal threat to herself, Bree and Matt must work through the red herrings to discover the real culprit before anybody else is hurt.
This has been a great series to read. Good blend of mystery and suspense and police procedure. And for once I had no idea who the bad guy was until the reveal.
I like the developing relationship between Bree and Matt, it’s a slow, gently burn, which I think is appropriate considering all the huge life changes Bree has been through in the last year.
Overall a great read, can’t wait for the next instalment in the series. 4 stars

Melinda Leigh’s “Lie To Her” is a Sheriff Bree Taggert story. It's great to get back with familiar book characters. All the Bree stories are interesting, fast-paced, and exciting, with a heartwarming family. This one doesn't disappoint. There is a murderer in town, Bree Taggert with Max Flynn, Bree’s criminal investigator and also her boyfriend, who work together to catch the killer(s). The clues are few and the manner of kill is bizarre. More killings plus taunts directed at Bree and her family bring it all closer to home. The family Bree creates for her murdered sister's kids and the history of law enforcement make her not only excel at her job but a strong and loving influence on her new family. She will protect those close to her and find who's responsible with all she has.
Do yourself a favor and read all the Bree series if you haven't. If you have read them then you are anxiously awaiting this new one. Every story about Bree and Max surpasses anticipation. As with all of Melinda Leigh's books, you will worry, stress, guess, and laugh with them. The characters are so real you feel they are extended family. Thank you, NetGalley, and publishers Montlake, Seattle, for this eARC. I recommend this book and the previous ones too.

When a digital marketer is found murdered in his backyard—hands bound and face smothered by plastic wrap—Sheriff Bree Taggert and criminal investigator Matt Flynn respond to the call. Their investigation focuses on the man’s dating-app profile and the word liar carved into his forehead.

One day later, the killer strikes again.

Both victims are players in the internet dating scene. In their wake, they leave a trail of hurt—and angry—women. But Bree and Matt aren’t convinced the motive is as simple as it appears. Everyone they interview seems to be lying or hiding something.

As the list of suspects grows, the killer’s rage escalates, and he leaves a personal and deadly warning for Bree. They must act fast. Because someone Bree loves is targeted as the next to die.

Well crafted characters, an underlying sense of menace and an immersive narrative combine for a suspenseful, one sit read.

My Rating: 4.5 rounded up!!

This is #6 in the Bree Taggert series and the fourth for me. I read and enjoyed the others and have been looking forward to the latest!
In fact, there were 620 requests before author, Melinda Leigh was even finished with this book!!
She has titles for Books 7 & 8 " “Catch Her Death” (projected Pub Day -September 12, 2023 and "On Her Watch”
~ projected publishing day - May 14, 2024

Oops ~ back to the story if you didn’t read the earlier books
Bree has been dealing with the nightmare of what happened 25 years with the murder-suicide of her parents. In Book #1 her sister Erin is killed. Erin’s husband vanishes. Bree believes Justin isn’t responsible and teams up with Justin’s old friend former sheriff’s investigator and K-9 handler Matt Flynn.

This story totally had me on the edge of my seat ~ also looking under my bed.

I read a lot of mystery Thrillers and this plot was different than most; although on-line dating isn’t a new plot but combined with the murder methods it was unique.
I was sure knew whodunit but 75% in I remembered . . .

Four Things I know/expect when I read a psychological thriller
 Expect twists and turns!
 Be suspicious of everyone!
 The most obvious person didn’t do it!
 There will be many secrets!

This was a great read. I always enjoy following Bree and Matt via third person POV; then the first person POV of the whodunit/the murderer.

Want to thank NetGalley and Montlake for this early uncorrected proof.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for January 17, 2023

“I voluntarily read an ARC of this book which was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.”

When a man is found bound, gagged, and his head wrapped in plastic wrap, Sheriff Bree Taggert and Criminal Investigator Matt Flynn are called to investigate the murder. The horror of the scene is compounded by a message the killer leaves on the body.

Before they can do much more than start a search into the man’s background, another man is discovered dead. The cases are too similar not to consider a serial killer might be behind the crimes–a woman with vengeance on the agenda.

The case takes a turn for the personal when Bree’s brother becomes the killer’s latest quarry. Will she solve the mystery in time to save her beloved brother or will Bree lose another piece of her family forever?

This is a fast-paced read with a twist at the end I didn’t see coming- I love when that happens!

My first read for this series. Very suspenseful and exciting. I found myself trying to find extra time to sit down and finish. Sheriff Bree Taggert finds herself mixed up in a thrilling who-done-it, with some real venom thrown in. A definite addition to your TBR list.

Bonus stars!! This spine tingling, sit down and hold on tight book will leave your jaw hanging. This rollercoaster is a must read. I love this author and I love how this series feels like home. Like family. I love how Brees life and family take precedent in every story. It bring the characters alive, and creates compassion. This book blew me away. A wild ride with rattlesnakes thrown in along with a murderer. This kept me guessing till the heart stopping end. So many twists and turns and adrenaline pumping moments.
This is an absolute must read

This series never disappoints. You get a mystery a man was killed by plastic wrap while tied up (who is the killer...I was surprised) a tad of romance (just enough not too much) Matt and Bree & Cody and Todd a wonderful group of characters that I've come to look forward to...each and every one. Sprinkle with a group of animals (dogs, horses and a cat) and this is my kind of series. This is Sheriff Bree Taggert #6. Looking forward to #7. Thank you for the advanced copy NetGalley and Montlake publishers.

Another great Bree Taggert book. This is the sixth book in this series and I have loved everyone. I would highly recommend this book and this series

Sheriff Bree Taggart and her love interest, criminal investigator Matt Flynn are on the hunt for a killer who’s struck twice within two days.

This is book #6 in the series about Sheriff Bree Taggart. It’s the first one I’ve read, though, and I think that’s a good thing. I normally try to avoid getting into any series that consists of more than 3 books. But I enjoyed getting to know Sheriff Taggart and her family and now I do want to read the series from the beginning.

This was a good, suspenseful story. It pulled me in from the start and kept my interest throughout. The pace and tension increased toward the end to the point where I couldn’t put it down.

Thanks to Montlake and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
#LietoHer #NetGalley.

Bree and Matt are back for a pulse pounding story. A man is found dead in his house with plastic wrapped around his head and taser burns. When they start investigating, they realize he was a serial dater and found his women on an app. When the next body is found, with the same MO, Bree and Matt looks for the perp fast before another man is killed. When someone close to Bree becomes a target, Bree will do anything to catch the killer.

Excellent story with fast paced suspense. The killer’s dialogue is in the first person point of view. I loved the chemistry between Bree and Matt. They are meant for each other.

A gripping twist filled five-star read. This is number six in the Bree Taggert series and you could read them as stand-alone, as they each tell a different story, but I have loved them as a series as you really get to know Bree and her cast of many wandering souls and as you get to know them all you care about them all in their own ways. There is a lot going on in this story and that’s what I enjoy, you have the murders, the dates, the horses, the anniversary coming up and the undercurrent as well, its well done how so many things pull you along and keep you on track, as lesser author could get you trapped in the weeds, but Melinda Leigh has that great talent of pulling you along and keeping you hooked without pulling you under. I am so excited to see what will happen next, will we back to Randolph County, or will something happen in the place the sunshine always shines.

I really like this series. This latest installment was just as good as the others. Bree is called yo a scene of a murder. The victim was heavy in online dating. The scene is pretty gruesome and so it begins. I like how Bree and Matt work together and have formed a strong loving relationship. I am pleased that Todd is healthy and back working. I like the paring of him and Matt's sister Cady. I was surprised as to who the killer was, and I like it that way. I am really looking forward to the next book. I thank Netgalley for the advanced

Book 6 in the series and still as captivating as book 1!

When you are able to get your hands on an ARC of a series you have been reading and an author you love it is bliss. As with any new book out in a series, you cross your fingers and hope it has all the elements that have led to you bing such a fan and this book delivers.

A great mystery that you won't automacitally be able to pick the correct suspect who spurred by jealousy and a need for payback quicly escallates and becomes more unhinged by the hour. You are on the edge of your seat as you wait to see if they can save her loved one as they discover they are the next target, hoping there will not be more tradegy in the lead up to the one year anniversary of Bree's sisters death.

On the key charachters, we see the continued development of Sheriff Bree Taggart and Matt Flynn relationship. Chief Deputy Harvey returns to field work for the first time since he almost died in the last big case and finding ways to mange his mental wellbeing, I look forward to seeing more on his relationship with Cady. We start to get glimpses of Adam connecting more with his family and that he does have a life outside of his paining. I see many more books in this series as we see the relationships of all these characters develop.
