I loved reading this lovely children's book, which helps young children to prepare for either starting school, or moving to a new school. The book is gorgeous, as it has lovely photographs, and easy to read text which is set out nicely. At the end of the book there is also a guide to help with different words. I recommend this book highly, as it is so useful, and children will love it, as it is so reassuring and helpful.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

This book, made for emergent readers of 0 to 6 years old, is to help them interested in reading, and learning new words. But this book is also a great help to soon-to-be students. They usually got scared of the new beginning, leaving home to be at school for good part of the day. This book shows how fun going to school will be: new friends, new activities, more time doing things they love, among other things. Maybe this book can bridge the unknown world of school to kids, before experiencing it.

Starting school can bring many emotions but knowing what to expect can help ease the anxiety. With the pictures of actual school setting and little details on what to expect, will help your child look forward to school. This book is also a young reader copy with sight words and reading reinforcement that parents can help their child love to read.

<i>A special thank you to Norwood Press and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Thanks for the chance to review this book. Having material to share with students about their fears / concerns is always needed and helpful.

The simple text combined with the use of photographs makes for a nice simple story to help children get ready for a transition to Kindergarten.

This book is done well with the photos matching each early reader page. I liked that there was different punctuation used but still simple enough for emergent readers. I think many children will relate to this book. I also found the multicultural photos representative of many students.

This book is about starting school. It is a beginning reader that uses simple sentence structures, decodable text and sight words to tell a story that young readers will be able to comprehend and follow. The pictures are real photographs (realia) and match the text well. This is especially helpful when teaching young readers the strategy of looking at the picture. It is also helpful for children learning English as an additional language. At the end of the book are some guiding questions and word lists to help teach reading at home and at school. I would recommend this book for teachers and families looking for simple texts to support young readers who are learning to read with increasing independence. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this text.

An excellent resource to help prepare kids to go to a new school, either for the first time or in a new place. It's written in simple, second-person language and follows a child through a typical school day, from getting to school to arriving back home. Big, vivid photos are included on each page to help kids envision the day's activities. There is a section at the end with suggested activities to use the text to support literacy skills and also a helpful list of all the words included in the text. This would be a great read-with-me book for young kids preparing to go to school and also a good book for early independent readers.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

A lively, colorful book of photos showing kids participating in a fun school day -- bus, classroom learning, recess, etc. This would be a nice book for parents to share with children who are nervous about going to school for the first time or transferring to a new school in the US from a different country.
