I can’t wait to get a physical copy of this book to be able to use in my physical science class!
I loved the extensive science facts included and felt like this would be a fun read for a middle schooler!
The graphics, especially at the end, were fantastic. I also like that there is a glossary so it can be used as a reference tool as well.

What a great way to learn a difficult topic—through a graphic novel! Jon Chad does a thorough job with this nonfiction text about the Periodic Table, creating Mel, a character who is nervous about taking a test. With the help of Hydrogen, Mel navigates through the Table trying to keep the evil “Elemancer” from destroying the world.

For the average, non-science student, this Science Comic is a fun, modern way to pick up and retain those difficult, hard-to-retain concepts. It also serves as a good ‘’refresher.” More entertaining than a textbook, this graphic novel would make a good mentor text for helping young writers understand and perhaps display knowledge of what they are learning in the content areas.

I think this book is a great concept! I teach a science class that covers a ton of the material that's in this book (the periodic table, important scientists and their discoveries, etc), and this book would be an invaluable resource for helping the kids learn it in a more approachable and enjoyable way. I do think that there's a LOT of information packed into the book; even though it does have an adventure story, it might be a tough read for some kids on their own. However, for a kid who's into science or a science teacher, it would be an absolute treasure!
