I could not get into this book. It just felt like a Hallmark movie. I didn't find the characters interesting. However, I did like the setting.

This was a really sweet story and I do like the ones where I get to learn something as well. And in this book, I got to learn a little about turtles. This book s great with realistic and relatable characters that will have you on the edge of your seat until you are done.

Molly needs a break from....Everything. That's why she took the job far away. Plus, it's only temporary. That's when she meets Grant whose family runs the Turtle rehab center. They are in need of a vet and luckily, she's right there. But what is supposed to be just a working relationship turns into much more between Molly and Grant.

This book is appropriate for all ages.

This book had a soft feeling and was light-hearted. At first, I thought the specificity of the turtles was going to be hard to follow, but I enjoyed what the turtles brought to the story. I enjoyed the journey of the turtles through all the different character's lenses. Personally, I felt like the will they/won't they kept going on a little too long. It was evident very early on that the characters had feelings for each other and it felt like a really long time for us as readers to finally get that moment. Additionally, I felt as though the reasons keeping them apart weren't strong enough. Then when the realization finally happened, I felt like the catalyst wasn't enough to push it over the edge. The female lead had known her feelings all along and it felt like too sudden of a shift. I listened to the audiobook version. For me, it felt like it was always in first person and then I'd hear the characters say she or he. The narration of the audiobook made it feel like it was in the first person because there was no difference between the narrator voice and the character voice. It was untraditional to have the narration flip in the middle of the chapter without warning and I still don't know if I liked it or disliked it. (I tend to be a fan of the untraditional). Finally, I enjoyed the natural flow of the characters falling in love and the female lead understanding how her past situations hadn't been what she'd thought.

The Beach Escape is a sweet, enjoyable romance, the perfect summer read to just sit back and enjoy. Molly Lawrence was recently dumped by her fiancé at her rehearsal dinner for her best friend. She is a traveling who has a position in a beautiful beach town of Emerald Cove, Florida where she’ll fill in for the local vet who’s on maternity leave. Shortly after arriving she meets an unexpected patient, a giant loggerhead sea turtle as well as Grant Torres, director of the local Turtle Rescue and Rehab Center. She knows very little about the turtles or the rescue center, but throws herself into the work becoming the vet for the center. Not only do the turtles steal her heart, but she begins to develop feelings for Grant and he for her. The problem is that Grant is planning to leave town to work his dream job, and Molly is still healing and not planning to love again.

Traveling to Florida each year, I love turtles, but don't know a lot about loggerhead turtles. I enjoyed that aspect of the story and how the rescue center brings Molly and Grant together. The characters all wonderful in this story and Grant and Molly just fit together so well. Their developing relationship brought the setting to life with their work as well as their time together on the sailboat and learning about the area. This was an enjoyable to read and listen to. With narrators Kristin Price and Tim Campbell giving voice to Molly and Grant, the story came to life. I enjoyed both formats and recommend either to those who enjoy a lovely, contemporary romance.

After Molly Lawrence’s fiancé dumped her for her best friend during their wedding rehearsal, she knew she needed to get away. Signing up to be a traveling veterinarian has brought her to Emerald Cove, Florida. When Grant Torres turns up at the end of her first shift with a loggerhead turtle, Molly quickly becomes a part of his life – both helping at the turtle rescue organization he runs and hanging out outside of work. However, both have plans that could take them away from Emerald Cove soon. Could they find a lasting love, or is there time together only meant to be friends for a little while?

This is a book where I really wish we could give half stars, as it is a solid 3.5 stars for me. My favorite part of the book was the friendships Molly made with her neighbors, sharing coffee on their balconies every morning. This makes a great beach read when you need some fluff in your life, but there is nothing to make it stand out from other similar books.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.

Rachel Magee's The Beach Escape is a light, sweet, and easy-breezy romance. The perfect thing to stuff in your beach tote, or (as I did) listen to the audio version while enjoying a gorgeous summer day.

Rachel Magee paints a charming picture of this ocean front town, and the characters are all very likable.

The audio is nicely performed by Kristin Price & Tim Campbell.

The Beach Escape is your typical Hallmark romance and the perfect summer read. When, temporary vet, Molly, finds herself filling in in Emerald Cove, she is recruited by Grant to help be the vet for rescued sea turtles. Sparks fly as Molly and Grant work closely together to help save these beautiful creatures.

I was expecting your typical romance when I picked this book and that’s what I got, but it was so much more. I loved this book from the very first chapter and couldn’t stop listening to it. This as the perfect end of summer book, giving me all the summer and romance feels. I really enjoyed the characters and the setting and thoroughly enjoyed the whole book. I would definitely recommend this Hallmark romance, it was a great book in my opinion.

Thanks to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for an audiobook version of this book!

This is a clean small town romance filled with likable characters. It is extremely slow burn. I’m used to romances with a little more heat and drama, but if you’re in the mood for something simple, sweet, and low-angst, this is cute. I liked the little adventures Grant planned for Molly, and it was interesting reading about their turtle rescue work. I also loved the supportive friendships.

I enjoyed the duel narration by Kristin Price for Molly’s point of view and Tim Campbell for Grant’s point of view. Both narrators have pleasant voices and are able to convey humor and emotion effectively. The audiobook production was generally good, although I noticed one editing error where a few lines of text were repeated.

I received a free copy of the audiobook through NetGalley. I volunteered to provide an honest review.

If you're a fan of sea turtles, you'll love this book! If you're not a fan of sea turtles, you will be, by the end of this book! Such a relaxing, light happy story that makes you look forward to the next chapter and the next. I really enjoyed it!

3.5 stars. I wanted to like this book more than I did. Unfortunately, I couldn’t relate to the main character, Molly. I found her to be unreasonably - and irritatingly - cautious in ways that didn’t make sense to me. I did like the ending, but it felt a bit rushed. Overall, this was a sweet story and an easy read, just not a book that stands out in a crowd.

This was a light and breezy romance. Molly has suffered a broken heart when her fiance leaves her for her best friend so she packs up and takes a job as a traveling Vet and her assignment has her landing in Emerald Cove taking over for the local vet who is on maternity leave. When she gets a new patient, a loggerhead turtle, she is not only smitten with the patient but also the man who recruits her to help, Grant who is the director of the local Turtle Rehab. When he asks if she will help out there as their vet she doesn't automatically sign up but after touring she just has to. This is the start of a budding friendship and romance. What is going to happen when it is time for her to leave for her next assignment and Grant is also getting ready to leave for his new job? This was the perfect summer read!

Suffering from a broken heart and the cancellation of her wedding, Molly accepts the position of a traveling veterinarian. Her assignment lands her in a tranquil beach town best known for turtle rescue. She takes on the additional duties of being the resident vet at the turtle rescue facility where she falls in love with not only the turtles but the facility director as well. The author did her research as this book provided lots of information on sea turtles and their rehabilitation from injury and illness. Kristin Price and Tim Campbell did an excellent job of narrating this story.

Not a romance. I did like the relationship development between Molly and Grant but it was very platonic until the end when they realize the love each other. I love turtles so I liked reading about the rehabilitation and release of the animals. I would’ve liked more sexual tension between the main characters.

I want to first thank the publishers and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to listen to this audiobook as an arc.

This book is about Molly, a traveling vet, and Grant who is in charge of a turtle rescue in Emerald Cove Florida. After a horrible betrayal Molly is done with relationships of any kind, and is on a mission to become more spontaneous and try new things, but on the first day of her 3 month vet position Grant comes in and puts a wrench into her plan. Molly agrees to help him this once, and do a health check on one of the sea turtles that is ready for release, and the turtles are not the only thing that steals Molly's heart.

This book reminds me a lot of the Last Song but for adults. This book was honestly nothing spectacular, but it was an entertaining beachy read which is what I wanted for summer. This books has pretty good descriptive text of the settings, and the explorations that Molly and Grant go on. They went snorkeling, sailing, and more, which as a reader I loved going along with them on there excursions.

This book is told in duel POV, and if you listen to the audio book there are 2 narrators. I felt like both were really good, and I had no complaints about that

If you want an easy summer read, with a slow burn, this is for you. I gave it a 3 out of 5 starts. It was a good enjoyable book but nothing special.

This was such a sweet and entertaining romance story. Molly is a veterinarian who’s just arrived in a new beach town. Grant works for the local sea turtle rescue and recruits Molly to help support the sea animals in his care. As the two work side by side to help care for the sea life, they also get to know one another’s hopes and dreams. Molly is moving on from heartbreak and trying to find a bolder, more adventurous spirit. In her new town, she begins to find a new home, new friends and a place to belong. Grant is torn between what he’s planned for his life and the unexpected new visitor to town who is slowly creeping into his heart and invading his expectations for his future.

This is a great summer beach read! Many thanks to Hallmark and NetGalley for an advanced audiobook copy of this story. All thoughts are my own.
