After Molly Lawrence's fiancé told her he was in love with her best friend on the eve of their wedding, she decided she needed a change from her quiet Kansas veterinary clinic. She took a job as a traveling veterinarian and found herself in a small seaside town on the gulf coast of Florida. Almost as soon as she arrives, Grant Torres asks for help with an injured loggerhead turtle headed for his family's turtle hospital.

Though she had limited experience with turtles, Molly was willing to help the stricken animal and ends up being the turtle hospital's vet for the duration of her stay. Though she is attracted to Grant, she has decided she is not going to fall in love again or marry. Grant is struggling with his own problems. He loves his job, but he left his PhD program to care for his younger sister when their parents died. He's comfortable running the hospital and would feel awful leaving his hometown. But, his sister is grown and getting married and he's offered his dream job as well as the opportunity to complete his dissertation at the university. He falls for Molly but she's made it clear she wants to be on her own. As both prepare to go their separate ways, will Grant actually leave his home? Will Molly realize how much she cares for Grant?

This is a nice, clean romance, appropriate for those interested of all ages.

The Beach Escape was an excellent getaway clean romance! Dr. Molly Lawrence, veterinarian, is covering a maternity leave in Emerald Cove, Florida. One of her first patients was unexpected - a giant loggerhead sea turtle, Grant Torres manages a sea turtle rehabilitation center; Molly becomes fully involved with helping prepare injured sea turtles for release back into the ocean. In the process she and Grant become close. Is Molly willing to risk her fragile heart?
I loved the sea turtle rehab in this book!

The Beach Escape by Rachel Magee is a sweet Hallmark style romance. This is the type of book that you easily get immersed into the story and fall in love with the characters.

Molly Lawrence needs an escape from her life after her fiancé dumps her for her best friend at their rehearsal dinner no less. She takes a job as a traveling vet which brings her to Emerald Cove, Florida. On her first day, she has a very unexpected patient, a giant loggerhead sea turtle! Grant Torres is in charge of the local turtle rescue and is in need of a new vet that could help parttime. Molly knows very little about turtles but is determined to do things that she is not comfortable doing. Grant and Molly get closer and closer during their adventures together that push Molly out of her comfort zone. Can Molly forget her past and move forward with someone new after the devastating betrayal from her best friend and fiancé? Could they work if they both don't plan on staying?

I loved this light beach read. If you like a good colleagues to friends to lovers trope this book is worth the read. No spice in this book either.

What a sweet and fun beach read! I listened to the audio version of this Hallmark story and enjoyed both the female and the male narrator.

I really liked the way Molly and Grant met and ended up becoming not only coworkers, but friends. It was clear to me, the reader, that these two were falling for each other and definitely were a great match. It was fun to see what adventures Grant took Molly on. He had so many great ideas of things in the area to show her and his expeditions usually required her to step a bit out of her comfort zone and embrace something new.

I was frustrated with Molly just a bit as she allowed herself to let her fear rule her when it came to giving her heart to Grant. It seemed to me that she believed that her previous break up meant that she should never try to love again, which made a relationship with Grant something to fear. Of course, I was glad when they were able to work things out. This story was very happy and uplifting to listen to.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This book was adorable and a great happy, romantic, sweet love story that happens to take place in my dreams. A traveling vet?! There is def. A life of mine that I am a vet and one or the same that I also work with marine animals and participate in wild animal rescue and rehab releases back to the wild. Not to mention living on a sailboat. Wow. This book just hit almost all the things I love! A perfect recipe for a 4 star rating! The only negative was the notion that I was heartbroken once and therefore should never love again and spend the rest of my life alone theory, which I can just never wrap my brain around, especially when she admits to never having really loved the fiancée in the first place. (Not really a spoiler although it sounds like one!)

A great easy read. Thanks to netgalley for an advanced copy of this audiobook!

This book was a TRUE Hallmark story which, as I’ve said before, is NEVER a bad thing. It started out kinda slow and jumped around a little, but overall, it was a great story with realistic characters!

2.5⭐️
Honestly there was nothing special about this book. Definitely gave Hallmark movie vibes. Molly is constantly scared, nervous, worried about everything remotely exciting. The characters are one dimensional, easy read, but overall wouldn’t recommend to a friend.

Thank you to Net Galley, Rachel Magee, and Hallmark Publishing for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I'm normally not one for audio books because they are harder to follow but this one was great! The story is easy to follow and kept me wanting more. Really enjoyed learning about the nature aspects and got caught up several times with all the "adventures" they went on.

This romance is so freaking cute! I absolutely adore a cozy romance.

This book follows Molly, who just got out of a relationship. Or I should say, was left at her rehearsal dinner when her fiancé told her he was actually in love with her Maid of honor/BFF, Ouch. She takes a Travel vet position to get the heck out of town and catch her breath. In this position, she meets, Grant. He is in charge of the local turtle rescue and going through his own personal growth journey. He moved home to take care of the family business, the rescue, after his parents died. And now feels stuck between what his soul feels called to do and familial obligations.

I mean, what is not to love? A beach town, a love story, and freaking sea turtles!!! This is the perfect setting for falling in love. A story of colleagues to friends to lovers!

If you love the story book or 'hallmark' style clean romance. This is a perfect book for you.

Thank you, to Netgalley & Hallmark Publishing, for the ARC audiobook.

Great summer beach read. Not a lot of character development and depth to the story. Makes for a great escape ready to read story though. I am a sucker for a good beach read.

This was a super sweet little summer romance. Both characters were very likable and the reasons for their decisions made sense. The turtles were a fun addition to this summer romance and I really loved how things all tied together at the very end. Hallmark Publishing did really well with this novel, and it would make a lovely movie if they ever decided to go that route with it.

I enjoyed the two narrators as well.

The Beach Escape is a great summer read. Molly takes a traveling veteranian assignment after she and her fiancée break up. She travels to the pan handle of Florida and meets Grant. Molly accepted a short-term veterinarian position in Emerald Cove, Florida after her fiancé cancelled their wedding. She is looking for beaches, sunsets, a challenging place to work and no commitments. When Grant walks in with a giant loggerhead sea turtle the excitement begins. Molly has a lot of fears when it comes to the water yet with Grant’s encouragement and the need to help injured turtles, Molly steps up to each task. I loved Molly’s dedication to the turtles and her spirit. Grant’s commitment to the turtles and their well being was commendable. I also really enjoyed Grant’s sister and his best friend who supported both Molly and Grant. There is a strong sense of hope in this book. The book did a great job in showing how trust can be established even when someone has experienced heartbreak.

This is a Romance. The two main characters were just so cute and they fit together so well. I loved all the characters in this book. I also loved all the ocean and sea turtles scenes in this book. The romance in this book was super cute and sweet. I found this book to just be a light and fun read. Great Summer Read. I did not love the audiobook of this book, so I ended up just reading the kindle edition of this book. I liked one of the audiobook narrators, but I did not like the other one. I was kindly provided an e-copy and e-audiobook of this book by the publisher (Hallmark Publishing) or author (Rachel Magee) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Great summer read. Sweet, simple, and has all the right rom-com Hallmark movie feels. From the backstory to the main charcaters, their love story is simple and real. I love that Molly and Grant have an instant attraction and not the typical dislike. I really enjoyed seeing their love and appreciation for each other grow. I really enjoyed that there was no sexual angst and dislike of each other that they fought. They were two people who truely liked each other and spending time together. They became friends who supported each other first - not the typical thrown together by force scenerio of most romance books. It was a refreshing read. The narrators were great too.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the audio version. Cute story if you are into Hallmark type romance stories.

This is a really sweet, perfect for the beach goer or animal lover, hallmark style romance.

Molly is determined to start over and not get too close to anyone after a disastrous end to her last relationship. But Grant needs her help at the local turtle rescue and it isn’t long before she’s getting up close and personal with turtles - and Grant.

But Grant isn’t necessarily looking to stay in Emerald Cove either and despite showing Molly the best it has to offer - they’re both torn about where to go next.

This is a bit too closed door to be considered a true slow burn BUT it is sweet and has a lot of great messages about opening up your heart after loss.

The Beach Escape offers a light, feel good, summer novel for readers of all ages. The small town setting welcomes reads in where they are warmly embraced by an eclectic cast of well intended busybodies. The romance is more of a subplot and Magee keeps it sweet and clean for younger readers.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5 for a sweet, clean, beach read.

The Beach Escape by Rachel Magee

Molly Lawrence needs a break she was dumped at her rehearsal dinner. She is a veterinarian and decides to take a travel veterinarian job. Her first job placement is at a beach where she is filling in for the local vet because that vet is having a baby. The place she lands in Emerald Cove Florida anyways she meets Grant at the end of her first day. Grant Torres is in charge of a turtle rescue non profit. He needs Molly to look at one of the rescued turtles to see if it is ready to be released. Molly hasn't done any turtle vet care in a while and she is unsure of herself. Anyways this romance book is all about the turtle rescue and the work they do.

Molly agrees to help Grant at the rescue with the turtles in between her normal duties as the local vet. Grant in turn will show Molly around town in payment for helping with the turtles. This is a very clean slow burning romance. It also talks a lot about turtle rescue. If this interest you then this clean romance novel is for you.

I really enjoyed the turtle part in how the rescued and monitored them also when they release them back into the wild. The romance was clean which is ok for me sometimes a romance needs to be just a clean easy slow going. So if you are in a mood for this type of romance then this book is for you. I like that it was a little educational about the turtles.

Kristin Price & Tim Campbell did a great job giving life to the characters and each had their own voice. This was a solid four star read for me. It was enjoyable read!

Thank you to Netgalley and Hallmark Publishing for a free audio copy of this book for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
