Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an audiobook copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

As always Natalie Barelli produces another twisty winner! This story started out with an unreliable narrator who has a great life, a job she loves a stepdaughter and soon to be husband. Yet quickly her life begins to unravel when her stepdaughter's mother and fiance's wife returns to town.
This story had me cringing and hanging on to every word! A fast moving story that is like watching a car crash about to happen, yet you can't stop it! The secrets come pouring out and you don't know what to believe... this was fantastic and addictive... I would say Barelli's best yet!
If you're a fan of suspenseful thrillers that are not like all the others, then this is your next read!

This was an excellent story. I really thought I knew how it was going to end, but boy was I wrong. The narrator was amazing and the twists kept me interested the entire time!

This was the first novel I’ve read by this author. I enjoyed this one and I will definitely be reading her other works. Laura, the main character is very happy with her life. She loves her job, she’s happily engaged to Jack and enjoys being a mom to his daughter, Charlie. But then, enter Bronwyn, Jack’s ex and Charlie’s mom. Jack and Bronwyn still need to sign their divorce papers before the wedding can take place. When Bronwyn comes to see Charlie and stays as a guest in Laura and Jack’s home, everything goes awry. No one is who they seem and just when you think you’ve figured things out, another twist will take you on a different path. This psychological thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Unforgivable by Natalie Barelli is an excellent example of a psychological thriller. There were so many crazy things going on, I wasn’t sure if everything would come together but it did. I wasn’t sure who the true crazy person was! Definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. The narrator was good but in some scenes I did get confused as to who was talking.

There were some unrealistic things that bothered me. One of the most taboo things in world is when a mother leaves her child to live a selfish life. But Bronwyn was still admired by other fellow moms and people when she came back. That didn’t sit right with me.

Big thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of the audiobook. #netgalley #unforgivable

Laura is living with her fiancé, Jack, and she is the primary caretaker of Charlie, Jack’s daughter from his first marriage. Charlie seems to be thriving under Laura’s care, until Jack’s first wife, Bronwyn, returns and, unbelievably, moves in with Laura, Jack, and Charlie!

Bronwyn and Laura have different parenting philosophies, and it seems that Bronwyn is purposely undermining Laura’s place in Jack and Charlie’s lives.

Adding to the stress over Bronwyn’s reappearance, Laura’s husband, Jack, has been out-of-work for over a year, and the couple is financially strained. At work, Laura feels forced to hire a sexy new assistant — an assistant who happened to witness Laura tampering with a lock after the theft of a valuable painting, due to Laura’s carelessness. To make matters worse, even Laura’s friends are starting to like Bronwyn. No one believes Laura when she tries to tell them what is happening!

I literally couldn’t put this one down! I was lucky enough to receive both the audio and digital print of this book. I started reading early one morning, and then changed over to listening as I cleaned my entire house (because I didn’t want to turn off the audio!)

The action moves quickly. Natalie Barelli does a beautiful job layering her characters, so the reader feels the anger and anxiety right along with the main character as the tension builds! I was on the edge of my seat to see how this one ended and Natalie Barelli did not disappoint!

Read this is you love twisty, psychological dramas involving families! And be sure to check out this author’s backlist! She has some fantastic reads!

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscapes Media for an advanced audio copy of this book. This is not a solid three star rating. It is more a two and three-quarters rounded up. Laura, the heroine of the story, is an art gallery curator. She is soon to be married to Jack, an out-of-work consultant. Jack’s soon to be ex, Bronwyn, is also Laura’s former friend and now arch rival. Let’s throw in a seven year old named Charlotte and you get the idea. Laura pays her assistant, Summer, to flirt with Jack to see if he will be faithful. Bronwyn meanwhile is in Seattle from Italy, where she is engaged to a plastic surgeon named Leon. Bronwyn and Laura fight like cats and dogs and Jack seems oblivious. He is also drinking too much. Recipe for disaster. The book wasn’t bad, it just didn’t really have anything that jumped out at me. Another annoying thing was the misuse of “I” and “me”. (It isn’t hard and the editor should’ve caught it!!). Put this in your “If I don’t have anything else to read” pile.

Thrillers like this scare me the most, because it shows that monsters are real. This book is a perfect example of a master of gaslighting. But who is the manipulator and who is the puppet?

Laura is living a white-picket-fence life, living with her handsome fiance, Jack, and his daughter, Charlie, in a beautiful home in the suburbs. Laura is the curator of an art studio while Charlie spends her days at an expensive school. Laura and Charlie have become thick as thieves, and Charlie even calls Laura "Mama".

The harmony comes to a screeching halt when Bronwyn, Charlie's biological mother and Jack's soon-to-be ex-wife, comes to stay with them. Charlie is thrilled, Jack is resigned, and Laura is appalled. What happens in the coming days is a terrifying and wild ride for everyone.

I think the main thing I disliked in this book was the relationship between Jack and Laura. They didn't seem to be a good match, and their interactions felt awkward to me. I didn't get the vibe that they were supposed to be getting married soon.

I truly enjoyed the content and the narrator of this audiobook. Thanks for the experience!

This is one I very much was into from the start. I was so enthralled that I had my headphones on at work to keep listening. I kept guessing with Laura what the heck was going on. She didn’t make the best choices herself. I wasn’t sure what was gonna happen to her in the end. Yet, the ending was satisfying. I give this 5 stars for a fabulous thrilling read!

@jenniferjillaraya’s narration is perfect as Laura!

Thank you to the author, publisher, narrator and Net Galley for providing a free e-audio copy of this title in exchange for my review.

I was excited about this book, it was my first book by the author, and sounded like it could be a domestic twisty suspense story. But it - well, it wasn't. It was so predictable from page one, it was disappointing. I'm not sure what else to say about the story. I don't understand all the high reviews, it was so predictable, I started to wonder if I'd read the book before.

The narrator did a fair job with the story, tried to give each character a different voice, but there was so much that was internal dialog or past memories, it was difficult to tell what was actually going on in the real world, now, today.

I'll rate this one 2 stars - it was ok, but I didn't like it.

Loved this mystery - lots of twists and turns in this one. I loved the character of Bronwin and all her different personalities. I did find the relationship between Jack and Laura to be lacking for two supposedly in love. And Laura is so extremely naive and clueless. But amazing mystery and good read.

Unforgivable
by Natalie Barelli
Narrated by Jennifer Jill Araya
Stars: 3.9/5

Unforgivable by Natalie Barelli is a crazy, entertaining ride through the lives of some really crazy people. Laura, Bronwyn, Summer, Jack...oh my goodness, the way these people acted at times made my jaw drop. Poor Charlie. I felt so bad for her.

This story is just a complete psychological hot mess. You have to go into this realizing that the decisions that the majority of these main characters make are ridiculous. I enjoyed trying to figure things out, though I really don't understand why Laura let Bronwyn walk all over her when she was visiting. Also, the way Jack acted by not standing up for Laura...personally I would have blown up at him and really would have had to consider if this was the type of man that I wanted to marry. Anyways, I don't want to give any major spoilers away, but this was a crazy listen.

Ms. Araya did a good job narrating this story. I enjoyed listening to her and her narration helped bring the characters to life.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to and review this ARC!

This story was twisted and wonderful! With each twist I was left guessing and I could not stop listening to this book.

Laura loves being sweet little Charlie's step mom and being her, hopefully soon to be husband, Jack's girlfriend. They live in a big beautiful house and Laura has an awesome job as a curator in an art studio. There is only one problem, Jack's soon to be ex-wife aka Charlie's mother aka Bronwyn . She left them both and took off to Italy for a new life but is coming back for a few weeks, and to make matters worse will be staying with all of them in their home. Before even arriving Bronwyn has a ridiculous list of demands that Laura bends over backwards to make sure she gets everything just right. She wants the visit to go perfectly because Charlie worships her mother, and so does everyone else it seems. Everyone except Laura. As soon as she arrives things start slowly going out of control and it seems Laura may be losing her mind. Is Bronwyn here to win Jack back? Is Laura imagining things? Could Jack be having an affair? And who is this mysterious Summer that has just applied for a job at the art studio?
This was a twisty ride full of unlikable characters, jealousy, button pushing, and just pure craziness with an ending that made my mouth drop! I did find some things very hard to believe and of course this kind of story has been done before, but this was still extremely entertaining and very well written. Also the narrator was an excellent choice for this!

Thank you NetGalley and Natalie Barelli for allowing me to listen to this ARC in return for my honest review!

Unforgivable is a relentless and twisty domestic thriller. Laura is happy. She loves her job, her fiancé Jack, and absolutely adores Charlie, her stepdaughter to be. But suddenly her life in thrown into chaos. An expensive piece of art gets stolen from her gallery and she fears she’ll be blamed. As if that isn’t bad enough, Bronwyn, Jack’s soon to be ex-wife, is suddenly coming for a visit…and she seems to have it out for Laura…big time, undermining her with Jack and turning Charlie against her. No spoilers, but the story is engaging with plenty of twists and the ending packs a real punch. Jennifer Jill Araya does an excellent with narration. Entertaining listen but the whole time I'm thinking who would do this??? I think it's a personal issue of not even believing anyone would pay someone to flirt with their fiancé. I decided to just go with the flow and overall, I enjoyed the audiobook. The narration was good. I definitely sped it up.

Thank you Netgalley for this audio edition of Unforgivable by Natalie Barelli.

Even if life isn't perfect, Laura loves her life. She is an art curator married to her new husband Jake and has a stepdaughter Charlie, who she adores. But every once and a while, Bronwyn, Charlie's mother who lives abroad comes to town to shake up their lives. But this time she's coming, and she's staying with them. Laura is distraught, but determined to make the best of it for the sake of Charlie.

But (shocking!) things don't go well, Bronwyn is constantly trying to usurp all of Laura's authority and hard work. And she's looking pretty cozy with Jake, her ex-husband. But not everything is what it seems, and while Laura fights to keep her family together, she learns about other shady characters from Jake's past...

OMG, this was so readable, yet so silly! First off, nobody is likable in this book. Jake is borderline verbally abusive, and Laura is so naive and whiny. And the constant whiplash of suspicion is exhausting. Like, aren't we too old for this you drama queens! It was such contrived HS nonsense, but the kind that's like a big fluffy marshmallow. You can't help but take a giant bite.

3.5 stars

Laura lives with her fiancé Jack and his daughter Charlie. His ex-wife comes to stay with them for a while and having Bronwyn back in town is tough on Laura and Charlie. Lots of gas lighting and twists. I couldn't stand Jack and didn't understand why Laura would even want to marry him aside for her love for Charlie. I appreciated the solid tie up at end.

Excellent narration by Jennifer Jill Araya.

This was such an entertaining ride! So many twists and turns with handfuls of gaslighting and deceit but for me it was somewhat predictable as I figured out the culprit early on. The ending left my head spinning and I felt completely fulfilled with the journey.

I listened to this as an audiobook and really enjoyed the narrator. This was my first book by Barelli and I plan on check out some of her prior work.

***** Many thanks to Dreamscape Media, Natalie Barelli, and NetGalley for the gifted copy as it was provided to me in turn for my honest opinion.

Rating it 3.5 stars on Goodreads but rounding up to 4 stars.

The review will be posted to instagram (thriller_book_sister) closer to publication date.

This is my 4th read from Natalie Barelli and I am in no mood to stop! She delivered yet another amazing psychological thriller that kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat until the very end. There are so many twists and turns in this that my head was spinning wondering how this could possibly end well for any of the characters. The plot in this was brilliantly written and the ending was spectacular. It really shocked me. I would have liked a bit more development of Bronwyn and Jack's relationship but this still worked just fine without it. Bronwyn so deliciously wicked and it was both frustrating and exciting to watch her quickly take over Laura's life and make her think she was crazy. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A psychological thriller that whilst it wasn’t completely brilliant I did enjoy it. I expected more from this book if I’m honest in the shape of twists and the unexpected happening. Yes there were a few twists but I had them sussed quite early on. The narrator was very good.
