Loved this short preview of Cursed! I absolutely loved Gilded so I was excited to dive into this preview for the second book. A great start to the book and I can't wait until Cursed officially releases!

Marissa Meyer is the QUEEN of fairytale retellings. She can do NO WRONG. Absolutely pure joy from start to finish and I’m hooked. Can’t wait to read the entire book!

Marissa Meyer is great at Fairy Tale re-imaginings. She puts her own spin on a classic with Cursed, a sequel to Gilded. This is a review of a Cursed sampler that includes the first few chapters. Based on those this should be another great story from Meyer - a great pick for a Halloween read.

by the end of 'gilded' by marissa meyer, i was shaking with anticipation. towards the ending, i was rushing through the pages, hoping for just a bit more of a glimpse into serilda's entrancing world. i was under a spell, and if i had feared that the spell would be broken once i touched upon the last line of the story, i was so wrong. 'gilded' ended on a cliffhanger, a dreadfully clever cliffhanger, and since then i've sat parched, both eagerly and impatiently waiting to drink from the vessel which is going to be 'cursed'.

fortunately, this sampler allows a short return to serilda's world, it provides a respite to my athirst self, but at the same time, it further increases my anticipation! simply cannot wait for the book.

So far it looks like this will be an intriguing sequel! Gild is still solidly my favorite character, especially after interrupting a certain event. It will be interesting to see how this story plays out.

This preliminary review is based on a sample of the first few chapters.

I have been eagerly awaiting the next part to this story, wondering how all the characters will react to the news of the baby! This is an excellent first look but I need more!

This is a promising start to the next book in this series! I can't wait for the full book - Meyer is a great writer. I'm so happy that I got to read a part of this novel early!

The Cursed Sampler brought us right back into the thick of things in Serilda's cursed experience! As I've grown to expect from these samplers, of course I was left wanting and will devour this full book when it's released! So far, my feelings are that this will be another five stars! Meyer continues to elicit the spooks and the grotesque gore I learned to love in Gilded, and I cannot wait to find out what she does with my ghost-boy, Gild!

I can't believe we received this many chapters as a sample, but it left off at a great spot. I can't wait to read the full novel! Turning out to be an amazing sequel so far.

I've been so curious how this will continue and it's finally here!! I didn't reread the first book, which I was slightly worried about. I'm glad it worked out though because the way this begins, we get a slight recap of the bigger events that then lead up to the ceremony. I may have slightly swooned at parts and it makes me wonder what exactly is going on~

How can you go wrong with a Marissa Meyer book? I read and enjoyed Gilded and have been impatiently awaiting this sequel. This preview did not disappoint. I will be eagerly awaiting the publication of the full story of Gild and Serilda in this duology based on the fairy tale of Rumpelstilskin.

I love Marissa Meyer's books so much, and I am ecstatic for the continuation of this series. Meyer has a gift for creating unique retellings of our beloved fairytales in her stories. It's heart-wrenching, bittersweet, and full of laughter all at once. She pulls emotions from you as if she were plucking chords on a guitar with her characters. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about her writing, including the Gilded series which is a Rumpelstiltskin retelling that gives Once Upon a Time (just a little darker in my opinion).

Cursed releases on November 3 — plenty of time to read Gilded before and immediately devour the sequel. @netgalley gifted me a sampler of the first six chapters and y’all it is GOOD. I think it will be a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ sequel!

While Marissa Meyer's does MANY things well, perhaps my favorite part of this excerpt is the pacing. I caught myself turning pages faster when action picked up and having more time for little nuisances when there were plot lines being laid.

I'm always impressed by the way that Meyer is able to construct her characters, each one decidedly unique and important to the plot while still bringing a familiar recognition to their role. Serilda and Gild are star-crossed lovers while Erlking is the imposing villain. The kids have their own dark stories, yet maintain their naivety and innocence. Each character adds depth and dimension through their own personalities and their interactions with others.

I was so sad to have this cut off after the first 50ish pages, but I'm excited to get to the final copy!

A huge thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a sampler of this book! I’m already invested in this story after reading the first book, but the sampler definitely got me excited for the sequel. I’m especially fascinated by the character of the Erlkönig and what will become of the vows he made.
