3.5 stars rounded down!
I've been on a bit of a Katee Robert kick, so when I saw this on NetGalley I was super excited! I really like how Robert blends greek mythology/tales with erotica romance - makes for a fun and interesting read! This was heavier on plot and a bit skimpier on spice than some other books of hers that I've read - but it was kind of a nice change! I'll definitely be picking up the other books in this series!
Thank you to NetGalley, Katee Robert, and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this e-Arc in exchange for an honest review!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy.

This is the 4th book in the Dark Olympus series, and possibly the least spicy. I appreciate that it moved the larger story (who is trying to destroy the Thirteen?), but the book’s main focus is Apollo and Cassandra trying to gather intel at a week long house party. Tropes: Boss-secretary, forced proximity, light bondage.

Cassandra is strong-armed by Zeus to go with Apollo to a week-long party at Minos’s house to try and discover what exactly he is up to. They pretend to be dating so that it is believable that Cassandra is there as Apollo’s plus one.
I can’t even begin to count the number of ways that I love Apollo. He is so different from any other character we have run into so far in Olympus, he almost feels too good to be one of the thirteen. This book has some of my favorite tropes: fake dating, one bed, it doesn’t mean anything. Cassandra and Apollo are so sweet that my teeth were aching from reading but don’t count out the sheer hotness of this book. As with all Katee’s books, the sexy times are *chef’s kiss*! This book moves forward in the overarching mystery surrounding Minos, Theseus, and the Minotaur. There were so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review! Honestly one of my favorite book in this whole series thus far! This is one of my most anticipated releases for 2023, and when I saw I got an ARC for it…. I freaked out and read it right away! And it did not disappoint! Katee Robert never misses!

This was an interesting continuation from the earlier books. I am pretty pleased with how Robert is continuing to build the world while still creating depth and intrigue.

The romance, was more of a miss for me. Probably because the last book was wildly spicy and was very fast paced and this was not.

Overall, a solid book, can't wait for the next one!

I enjoyed this newest installment in the Dark Olympus series. Cassandra and Apollo have been pining for each other for years, while working closely together. Throw in a grasping outsider who threatens the reigning thirteen gods and goddesses of Olympus and all of the sudden Apollo – the spymaster of Olympus – needs a fake girlfriend for a house party. It’s a one-bed trope, fake relationship to lovers that’s full of spice and intrigue. This one was a little heavier on plot rather than on the relationship building – perhaps because they have been pining for each other for so long before the book opens. Nevertheless, I am fully invested in the machinations and mystery of this world that Katee Roberts is building. I look forward to future installments.

This book is the 4th installment of the Dark Olympus series. I have loved every book in this series and I am happy to report that this book is just as intriguing, steamy and well-written as the previous books. This is the story of Apollo and Cassandra. Apollo leads the spy network in Olympus and Cassandra works with him. Cassandra is a bit of an outcast because her parents tried to use a loop hole in the laws to become part of the ruling class, When Apollo and Zeus need Cassandra's help to infiltrate a party, she takes the opportunity to bargain for enough money for her and her sister to leave Olympus. I really enjoyed the concept of the house party...it was almost like a game of Clue.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who does not mind a highly erotic book. There is great chemistry and excellent dialogue between Apollo and Cassandra. It was a book that I was able to zip through really quickly!

I was provided an ARC of this book through NetGalley for an honest review of the book.

This was a lot of fun. I liked the house party murder-mystery aspect. Also really loved Apollo and Cassandra together. Their chemistry was perfect.

I will say, I wish there was an extra chapter or two at the end. The story was wrapped up in the end, but I would have loved an epilogue or something with Apollo and Cassandra after the dust had settled.

Really intrigued to see where the rest of the series will go from here

I absolutely adore Katee Robert and she really is just doing it all with this series! Another great set of character and a whole new scenario while amping up the overall story arc. And this couple was just so sweet. I always want a bit more with these books but that's what her newsletter is for a lot so overall just another stellar read

I mean... Katee Robert doesn't write bad books. Especially when it comes to the Dark Olympus series.

This installment focuses on Cassandra and Apollo. Cassandra is still reeling from her parents' assassination scheme that ultimately caused their deaths when she was young. Feeling responsible for providing her sister with the best life possible, she starts working for the gorgeous Apollo in order to save enough money to flee Olympus.

Apollo, spymaster of Olympus, has always wanted Cassandra but could never act on it because he is her boss. When given the chance to employ a fake dating scheme in order to find out who is threatening Olympus and why, he takes it.

Unsurprisingly, the two share sizzling chemistry and vow to enjoy their time together while they have it. After a week of mayhem and violence, they must determine if their love can survive.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions.

It had been a little while since I've actually sat down and read a book, let alone read the book in an entire day. What a way to get out of my slump! This was so wonderful to read. There was spice, there was intrigue, there was drama! Everything you could want from a Katee Roberts book.

This is the second of Katee's books that I have read and I liked it just as much as the first! (Electric Idol). Her writing style kept me hooked and while I am not usually one for mysteries this one kept my attention and I honestly had no idea what was going to happen until it did. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Once again, I found myself staying up into the wee hours of the morning, quite by accident, finishing a Dark Olympus novel. As the stories in these novels grow more suspenseful and intertwined, I find myself growing more and more addicted to the glamorous filth, that polished turd, Katee Robert's Olympus. I love Robert's writing in this series - how each book is about a set of characters, but the setting itself is a character carried throughout.
Reading this book was a delight; I am beyond a sucker for mutual pining and Cassandra and Apollo got me right in the chest. A boss in love with his employee, but unwilling to take advantage? An assistant touched and affected by her boss' gentleness and care for her wellbeing but unwilling to tangle herself in his politics? Sign me right up, over and over and over. Robert's deft hand creates characters that invoke emotional responses, and somehow manages to continue to be the only author who can write m/f smut with a man dominating that doesn't make me want to throw up and/ or castrate someone.
While I suspected the twist, it felt like an "Aha! I called it!" moment rather than an "ugh, how predictable" one. I love how this book, even more so than Wicked Beauty, is shaking up the premise of the series. I can't help but highly anticipate the next installment.

In the last book, I was all like “so much relationship building!! Where’s the plot??” and now I am forced to ask the reverse - we got so much plot (100% not complaining) but very little relationship building. Honestly, I didn’t really buy the chemistry between Apollo and Cassandra; it went from 0 to 1000 very quickly, even if they both had been pining for each other for years. I think in these mutual pining situations, especially in a context where their relationship is more formal (he’s her boss, they don’t interact outside of the office), it’s really important for the reader to see them falling in love with the real person and not deeper in love with the version of the person they’re most familiar with, and that just didn’t happen for me.

I’m really invested in the way all of this about the politics and stability of Olympus unraveling, but for me, Katee’s been unable to maintain the propulsive balance of plot and relationship that the first two books achieved. I’m in it for the long haul, though - I simply must read about Zeus and Hera.

Somehow this is the spiciest entry in the Dark Olympus series yet... and I ate it all up. Apollo is my broody man with a soft heart and I'd do anything for him.
