this third book to the grave-keeper series is full of ghosts and action. I really enjoyed this one and how it’s beginning to tie up some questions that I’ve had since the first book.

characters from the first story are making a bigger appearance in this as you get to learn about their background and how they became to be in this quiet, quirky town.

there is no shortage for ghosts in this book. they are all throughout the book with the different tasks that the group has taken on.

Clean supernatural mystery. Part of a series but reads perfectly as a standalone.

I enjoyed it tho had trouble staying interested about half thru. Probably just me tho as I honestly enjoyed it after I picked it back up.

When I requested this eARC off of NetGalley, I had no idea it was part of a series, let alone the third book. I was worried that would be a huge issue and I’d end up not being able to enjoy the book due to not having that background with the characters and world.

Let me tell y’all that wasn’t the case. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. While it’s the third in a series, and there’s obviously two whole books ahead of it, I wasn’t thrown all the way in the deep end. There was enough background given, without the other two books being spoiled, for me to follow along.

I loved this book actually. It was great. I fully intend to buy the previous two books because I need to know how it all started.

Now, to the book itself.

The characters were great. I liked our main character and her two friends Zoe and Mason.

Zoe is that excitable, weird friend that never knows when to turn off the jokes and sass. Mason is the tired friend from dealing with the excited friend. He’s also a former med school student and Zoe works at a grocery store.

Keira works at a graveyard as a keeper. She cleans the graves and speaks to the ghosts. I like how her ghost seeing ability was described. A second sight that she had to “pull a muscle” to use. I actually really liked that. Usually it’s just described as a second sight and we keep on going. She strained it, worked it hard, got headaches, all of it was great.

I really enjoyed the characters’ relationships. The growing romance was nice, it wasn’t something I felt like I was missing out on and it wasn’t rushed. Nothing in this book was rushed which I really appreciated.

The only thing about this that really bothered me, aside from the lack of diversity, is a plot point. There was a subplot that essentially took over the story and while reading what became the main plot, I was literally like “but what happened with yadda-yadda” and then it finally got back to that. Although that was wrapped up nicely.

It’s my only really critique with the book and so for this book review, that’s a positive. Plus I love how purple the cover is.

I received this eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to them and the publisher.

When I requested this title, I did not realize that this was the third book in a series. I listened to the first two books in order to read this one, but unfortunately I did not really enjoy the second book and that really ruined this one for me.

I do not mesh with the writing style and I feel like the characters became friends too easily. Because of this I did not manage to get past 20% of the book and DNF'ed it.

I would try other books by this author because the premise sounded very interesting.

Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this ARC.

Keira and gang are back again in this third book of the Gravekeeper series. This time Kiera is sent an invite to meet with town recluse and creepy guy Dane Crispin. Mason and Zoe are there to back her up. It turns out Dane is having a ghostly issue of his own. Keira search leads her to Mason's alma mater and finally some answers to Mason's leaving school. All this inadvertently leads in an encounter with a dark organization she's been avoiding and some answers as to why she is being hunted.

The Twisted Dead is a wonderful addition to Keira's story. As in previous books, her ability to see and help ghosts adds a wonderful paranormal element to the plot. I really enjoyed learning more about the characters and some of the misconceptions being cleared along the way. Coates does a wonderful job of balancing the ghostly elements and tempering them with a lot of humor and heart. I really enjoy how she creates and develops characters, even those who are little bit extra and over the top. To me, the books are very much cozy reads. I think they make a wonderful introduction to anyone that might be interesting in exploring supernatural mysteries.

With that being said, I would have liked to see the progression of the story take a little more of a linear route. While the initial encounter with Dane seems to be the primary focus in the beginning, it does move to Mason's story and then Keira's only to circle back around to Dane and what felt to me like a sudden conclusion. I did really enjoy the added touch of reuniting Dane with a family member and the further presence of Harry. The book does leave a little bit of a cliff hanger and raise more questions about another character in the book. I'm looking to read about how Keira, Mason, and Zoe will handle the issue in the future. Overall, it's really a fun read. It's light with just the right amount of the 'scooby gang' feel.

“Yes, please” is all I needed to think when Poisoned Pen Press offered me an ARC of #3 in Darcy Coates’ GraveKeepers series for my feedback.
Although, I’ve read many of Darcy Coates’ cozy horrors, this was the first of the GraveKeepers series that I read. It was so easy to get immersed into Keira’s world, thanks to Coates’ writing. The descriptions of the places and people/ghosts remind me of looking through a microscope, with the images becoming more detailed as you read. This focusing let’s the reader decide just how much they want to imagine the twisted spirits, as the more you let the details bring you in, the more horrifying their images become.
The spookiness and suspense made this a great read for my cardio sessions. I found they were much more intense as my heart raced alongside Keira and her friends as they were being pursued by Artec. The overarching mystery and mini mysteries sprinkled throughout, kept me thinking about the story even when I wasn’t reading.
Thanks to little references to Keira’s previous adventures, I want to read the first two books in the series. The references were like little tastes, horror snacks if you will, and now to fully enjoy the series, I want the full course of Keira’s ghostly adventures.
Out this week, The Twisted Dead is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me!

The third book in the Gravekeeper series brings back Keira and her sometimes inconvenient ability to see all the ghosts. Working in a cemetery doesn’t make this less complicated for her.. Having to again face someone who once tried to kill her is pretty inconvenient, too.

The Twisted Dead, by Darcy Coates, is a spine-tingling tale of terror and suspense. It follows the story of a small town that is plagued by a mysterious force that has been unleashed from the depths of the nearby forest. As the townspeople struggle to make sense of the strange occurrences, they soon discover that the force is far more sinister than they could have ever imagined. With each passing day, the town is thrown further into chaos as the force continues to wreak havoc. Will the townspeople be able to survive the twisted dead, or will they succumb to its dark power?

This series features Keira and her crew, Mason and Zoe, as they investigate the ghostly happenings in the town of Blighty.

The Twisted Dead continues the saga of the “gravekeepers” search for her missing memories before she awoke in town’s graveyard one frightful evening.

I love Darcy Coates' books, and I absolutely loved this book! I really enjoyed getting to read about Keira finally figuring out why she was being chased and what exactly her abilities can do. And I adore the dynamic between her, Zoe, and Mason as they are trying to figure out the ghost issue. And then, the hermit of the town, Dane Crispin, comes to Zoe for help with a ghost problem and it seems to be more than she can handle. She also learns about the company that is trying to capture her and just what they are up to. I truly love these characters and all three of the books in this series, I hope there will be more! I want to see Zoe take down the Artec corporation!!

In the third book in The Grave Keeper series Keira is back. I read the first book in the series and enjoyed it. I didn’t read the second but you don’t necessarily have to read all three to understand what’s going on. In this installment you get more ghosts, a creepy haunted house, and plenty of trouble!

Keira lives in a groundskeeper cottage in a cemetery. That’s creepy enough but Keira also has a gift. She can see the dead. She’s about to put this gift to use when she accepts an invitation to Dane Crispin’s dilapidated estate. He wants her to rid him and the estate of its ghostly inhabitants.

The Twisted Dead is available now.

Thank you netgalley and poisoned pen press for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This is the third book in 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨, I didn’t read the first two before reading this one. Although this can be read as a stand-alone and I didn’t have an issue with the characters, I do wish I read them in order - just for my personal preference.

I haven’t read anything by this author, but I was so excited to read this one. I didn’t realize it was part of a series, but I still had a great time reading it.

The characters felt very fleshed out and therefore I clicked with them. I found our main character, Keira, and her two friends, Zoe and Mason, so interesting to follow!

I do believe this book is in the horror genre - and while at times there were some horrific scenes, I do believe it’s more of a cat-and-mouse mystery - which I didn’t mind.

A lot was going on in the book - from Dane’s ghost problems, Keira’s missing memories, graveyards, some murders, and so much more! I found this book to be such an entertaining read, and I want to go back and read the first two now.

This booked worked very well as a stand-alone book for me! [book:The Twisted Dead|60539819] had me fully invested in the plot from the very beginning. I found this to be a fast read that was not only entertaining but fun!

Kiera has a unique ability to not only see the dead/ghosts but to talk to them as well. She helps them to move on while working at a local cemetery. Keira, Zoe and Mason (her friends and helpers) get invited to the crumbling Crispin estate. Their host is Dane Crispin needs her help. He has no idea just who much help he really needs. Upon entering Dane's home, Kiera knew instantly that the house was full of restless spirits. Ones that have no intention of leaving.

This was a fun paranormal mystery/horror book. I didn't find it to be scary but found it to be creepy. The ghosts were scary (to me) but some may find them to be spooky. They do set a chilling vibe and the graveyard and haunted house creates atmosphere.

I enjoyed meeting Kiera, Zoe and Mason and although I did not read the first two books in the series, I didn't feel like I was missing too much. Sure, there is backstory and how she met her friends which I would have loved to have known/explored but that just gives me incentive to go back and read the previous books.

I enjoy Darcy Coates books. I find them to be gripping, well written, and hard to put down. For me, this book excelled in being creepy and spooky. It was full of tension and ghostly vibes. I enjoyed Kiera's character and her abilities. This made for an interesting and fun read.

Looking forward to reading more of her books in the future.

I am a huge fan of Darcy Coates and have read many of her stories. The Twisted Dead is Book 3 the Gravekeeper series. I was unaware when I requested this book that it was Book 3 in the series, so I of course had to get the first 2 books before I read this book. I love this quirky series. Of course I love the ghosts, but I also love the friendship between the characters. This is definitely another winner from Darcy Coates.

This book is for all the morbid kids who love tragic ghost stories, magical cats, and fun-and-fright-filled adventures with your friends.
In book #3 of the Gravekeeper series, we follow Keira as she gets closer to unraveling the truth of her mysterious past. Aided by her two best friends, they investigate a murder, an ancient haunted mansion, and discover a sinister cemetery with a dark secret. A secret that might have everything to do with her.
The spookiness factor is elevated in this installment, by the way, and I loved it!
Darcy Coates might just be one of my new favorite authors! Her ability to make my hair stand on end with her creepy descriptions while also keeping me laughing at the characters’ antics is delightful.
If you like ghost shows, mysteries, and stories that center on a charming group of BFFs, check out this series!
