Forestfall follows on from where Lakesedge ends, taking readers back into a world filled with a rich and vivid atmosphere. The book is full of suspense, a dark atmosphere, and gothic elements. Enemies seem to be everywhere, creating a mysterious feel and taking characters to different settings throughout the book. It’s written from both Leta and Rowan's point of view which I really enjoyed, and found the writing has almost a lyrical style to it. It’s a captivating read and I’d recommend this book to readers who like dark gothic fantasies with exceptional world-building and mystery.

Going into this one off the back of Lakesedge, I had super high expectations. Its predecessor ended with a bang and it was so shocking that it was left on such a huge cliff hanger. And then came Forestfall.

Thinking about it now, I probably should have delayed this rather than reading it back to back. While it was fine, it didn't have that punchy and heart wrenching prose of the first in this series - it gave solid 'second in series' vibes and since its a duology, it will never have the chance to redeem itself with a really solid ending.

The addition of the lord's siblings could have been absolutely earth shattering but I feel it was a little rushed to get to its climax after a fairly slow burn throughout. I did appreciate they existed, just felt they were a little too cookie cutter 'older siblings trying to ruin your day' with their antics.

At the time, I felt kind of like I wanted it to have an Addie-esque ending where everything turns out for the people around her and she just goes. So I waited to write this review to see if after time my opinions changed. Alas, it remains the same and I honestly wish the end of Lakesedge had just left me absolutely devestated.

Overall, I'm not angry that i read it, just a little annoyed that it didn't hit the amazing level of storytelling that was Lakesedge

Forestfall dives straight into where Lakesedge left us – with Leta now bound to the Lord Under after doing all she can to protect her loved ones.

Utterly compelling as always, Lyndall’s writing style is so immersive and enchanting. She has a magic way with words. Nothing ever feels to flowery or overly worked. It’s captivating, and almost impossible to walk away from.
I adored getting the dual POV we did in Forestfall. Seeing into Rowan’s head and getting to know his mind better was such a gift.

This was a fantastic conclusion to a wonderful story, and I am so sad to be saying goodbye to these characters. I look forward to reading whatever Lyndall has in store for us next.

Forestfall is a mesmerising romantic, vibrant gothic tale and the continuation to Lakesedge.

Firstly, I want to say I feel so lucky and grateful to have had the privilege to read this arc before it’s release date considering how much I loved the first book this one definitely lived up to my expectations and is a top favourite read of this year.

Between Lakesedge and Forestfall Lyndall has illustrated with her words not one but two enchanting realities that I personally feel spellbound by.
The aura in Forestfall is gloomy, bloodstained, whimsy, luminescent with inklings of horror. It appears like your walking through a hauntingly angelic dream.

Forestfall is everything you want in a gothic romance; monsters, entangled love, heartache and unearthly. The writing is compelling and draws you in from the very first words, prepare to feel the earth beneath your feet and follow the luminous mushrooms in the world Under.

Violeta’s new existence at Lakesedge has now turned to a reality of nothingness.
