She Hated Scots; Could she Love a Highlander?

Scots killed lady Matilda's family and burned down her home. Now, a Highlander claims that a goblet her father gave her as a child belonged to his clan. She should hate him, but she found herself seduced by him. Surely, she hated all Scots, or did she? Would North be able to get the goblet from lady Matilda so he could go back to his clan and no longer be an outcast? The goblet was a point of contention, but could it be the start of something wonderful? Both Matilda and North needed love and a home. Could they find it together? I enjoyed this delightful story and would recommend it to those who like historical romance with humor, adventure, suspense, and mystery. There is also a healthy dose of braw Scots to enjoy.

This is the fourth and final book of the Highland Outcasts series. This has been such an exciting series to follow. This last installment features North and his punishment for defiance of Callum MacFeefe's pub rules. He is sent to search for a missing chalice, which he is partly responsible for losing, and his search brings him to Matilda, who was also looking for the chalice. Now that she has it, she is not letting it go because it once belonged to her long ago. It was a gift from her father. As frustrated as North gets with Matilda, he is falling hard for her.
Filled with danger, excitement, romance and humor this story kept me turning the pages, anxious to find out what happens next. It is a heartwarming end to what has been a great series. Glad to have had the opportunity to read it.

Highland Silver by Elizabeth Rose is the fourth and final book of the Highland Outcasts. After losing the chalice he was forbidden from touching in the first place, North MacKeefe has become an outcast of his clan until he can return it. When a lead brings him across the border to Montclair Castle, North, along with his twin brother and two friends, North counts himself lucky that it was that easy to find the chalice. Lady Matilda Montclair saw her family brutally murdered by Scots when she was six years old. The silver chalice she was given as a gift by her father was stolen. She is so fortunate to have found it again after almost twenty years. To keep it safe, Matilda wears the chalice on a chain around her waist. She’s decided that it is time to marry again for the sake of her young son, and she plans on adding this valuable chalice to her dowry. One night, a man enters her room in the castle intent on stealing her chalice.

I really really enjoyed this book! The way both North and Matilda coveted the chalice for different reasons added a fun sort of game between the two that resulted in deep feelings and high tension each time the two fought for possession of it. Very fun read!

An entertaining story of four trouble makers' receiving punishment for breaking Callum MacKeefe's rules at the Horn And Hoof. North MacKeefe has the task of bringing back the stolen silver chalice belonging to Storm MacKeefe. If he doesn't he will be an outcast from the clan. Fortunately he has help from his twin brother Nash, friends Gavin and Cam. Their journey takes them to England where they cross paths with Matilda Montclair. She has the chalice which was a gift from her father. Twenty years after the murder of her family, she is still looking for the man responsible. A scar on his hand and silver bands attached to the back of his boot heels are her only clues to identify him. It's either laugh or cry at the antics of North, Nash, Cam and Gavin trying to steal back the silver chalice and the Mountain Magic that gets them in trouble.

Highland Outcasts
Old Callum has finally decided on North's punishment and it seems this one is going to be the worst of all the punishments. Matilda is determined to find a husband as a father for her son and so plans to use the chalice as a bargaining as she sees it as her only chance. This series has been wonderful. 👏

Highland Silver is the last of four novels recording the punishments dole out by Callum MacFeefe after four men’s gross defiance of the rules of his pub. It is now North’s turn but the other three have promised to accompany him as he was with them as they accomplished their quests. His is taking him south in pursuit of his uncle Storm’s slice chalice, which was lost partly through his actions. He really has no idea where to look, but vows to keep his eyes and ears open. At the same time he is looking so is Lady Matilda Montclair who had seen it stolen when she was six years old when a horde of Scots and one Englishman raided her home and killed her parents and brothers, ransacked the place, and set it on fire. Her uncle had arrived shortly after they abandoned the manor and saved her but she has spent the past 20 years looking for her chalice and now wants it to add to her dowry. She wants to marry again. Her first experience had been horrible but she wanted more children and a father for her son, Robbie. She finds it first, but North is right behind her and arrives at the castle with a plan.

North is a goof. There is no other way to describe him. He wants what he wants, he wants it now and damn the consequences. He and his brother, who is is twin but far from identical, decide to climb the castle walls one night and grab it and go. They accomplish it but North is so taken by the sleeping Matilda that he lingers too long and they get away but without the chalice. Matilda is not crazy like her dead husband had told people but she was stubborn and knew what she wanted. She was tired of her cousin, Marcus telling her what to do. She wanted out of here. North wanted the chalice. They seemed at odds. It was a good plot and the main characters were well-rounded and well-written. It seemed a hopeless situation but they both persevered when no one else agreed. I enjoyed it.

This is the last book in the Highland Outcast Series. I have so enjoyed Gavin, Cam, Nash, and North's stories of punishment so they can be accepted back in their clan. I also like that these four were in each others stories which added to my reading enjoyment.
North has been sent to find and return Storm's silver chalice. Meanwhile, Matilda is thrilled to have the chalice back that her father gave her when she was 6. The antics of North, Nash, Cam and Gavin gave me quite a few chuckles.
Great Series Elizabeth Rose!

I loved reading the stories about these outcasts. It is North's turn to redeem himself and the others are tasked to help. North falls for Matilda quickly and he goes back and forth about taking the silver chalice from her to return to Callum for his punishment. They dress up and sneak into a costume party and one by one end up in jail. The schemes they come up with to get out keep backfiring and North does not want to leave Matilda. He will risk it all in order to not lose her. Great characters and storyline.

The book for the 4th outcast punishment definitely didn't disappoint!

North's punishment was to find his chieftain's missing silver cup. Of course then he meets Matilda that wanted the silver cup that she was given as a child just before her parents and siblings were killed.

I really liked having all of the previous characters back for this book and really enjoyed all of the antics to try to sneak in to get the cup or save others.

I really liked the straightforward nature of all of the books in this series. There was just enough backstory of the main characters and a clear plot that had just enough going on to keep me interested in reading more. The romance was a good pace as well.

I enjoyed this book and the previous 3 in this series, with this book being my favorite!

Thank you to Dragonblade and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.

After successfully foiling the reivers and negotiating an alliance, North, his brother Nash, and their friends over-celebrated and broke several of Old Callum’s Tavern rules, including starting a fire and throwing up on Callum’s boots. As a result, they are outcast from the clan until each has completed a sentence decided by Callum. Three of the four of the four of them have completed their sentences. Now, it’s North’s turn. He is to find and retrieve the Storm’s silver chalice that was stolen during the chaos the four of them caused. He locates it, but getting back won’t be easy. It is in the hands, actually on a chain around the waist, of Lady Matilda Montclair. The cup once belonged to her and she is not letting it go again. The four of them plot and connive, but only manage to get themselves thrown into the dungeon, and nearly hanged. Matilda frustrates North, but he begins to fall for her, her son Robbie, and Gertie the dog. There is action, danger, schemes gone awry, even a kidnapping, and a heartwarming romance all wrapped in a ton of humor. The ending of the book, the end of the series, is priceless.

The last in the Highland Outcasts brings us North MacKeefe having to work out his punishment for damages her and his cohorts did to the tavern.

He is tasked with getting back the silver chalice that went missing. The only problem is it is firmly on the person of one Lady Matilda Montclair, an Englishwoman.

Matilda, was happy to finally get her chalice back that had gone missing when she was young. She wants to use it as a bargaining asset to get he a husband, because she knows she is not the best bet.

When these two come together, humor, fun and a journey to an HEA take place not to be forgotten!

The search for a chalice, two people want it, who will have it? Interesting complex characters and a descriptive story, lots of twists and turns and a complex romance make this a real page turner. This author's colorful writing make this a must read!

North MacKeefe is the last of the rule breakers to carry out his punishment and hopefully return to the Clan. He's sent far away on an almost impossible mission. Unluckily for his brother and friends they have to help him the same as he helped with theirs.

Our hero is greedy and always wants what he shouldn't have.

Matilda Montclair is a widow with a young son whose reputation has been tarnished. Now she has asked her cousin to help her get married again. A tragedy in her past has left our heroine with emotional scars and a need for vengeance.

A wonderful ending for the series. You could read each book on it's own but they are much better in order.

Great fun.

Great book, great series. North’s punishment was more stringent the his brother’s and friends. His punishment could have made him an outcast for the rest of life until he met Matilda. She is the only one that can get him back to his clan, if she wants to. The story has everything, danger, treachery, lies and love. A must read.

Pirates, Scots, Silver Chalis:

My, my what an exciting heart pounding, gut wrenching story from beginning to the very end.
A tragic beginning sets the pace for this thrilly final story of the series.
It doesn't take long for the outrageous rip-roaring plot to emerge, and the romance between
North and Matilda begins with a rocky beginning, but it doesn't take long for the desirous
attraction between our H and h to take over.
There is one catastrophe after another throughout this story that had me laughing out loud
many times, over. I will say there are plenty of extremely intense situations that has you
on the edge of the seat.
I love the characters, especially Gertie the dog and her pal Robbie.
I really think this story is the best of all four books. The conclusion is also priceless and hilarious.
A real treat to read but I recommend reading the entire series in order.

Although I only read book 4 of this series I felt it could be a stand-alone and still enjoy it. It does want me to go back and read books 1-3. This adventurous story has a lot going on. Tragedy, family, revenge, life lessons, and love. The characters are all relatable. There was Even humor as well as sadness, and finding love always is a plus.
Matilda Montclair and North MacKeefe met on his mission to find the silver cup. Both having different goals made this difficult task. Only both never expected to find something worth so much more.
This story was emotionally touching . It is up to you to decide if Silver or Gold is Worth More ?

Book 1 of this series is my favorite, but all of them are enjoyable in their own way (book 4 is no exception). My biggest complaint with this book is that it just felt like there were so many missed opportunities for plot points. I also felt myself rolling my eyes with how easily both characters were distracted and seduced by one another. Apparently all it took for Matilda to get over her hatred of Scots was a really good looking one in her bedroom. One missed plot point was when Matilda and North go to the site of her childhood home - it served no purpose and did nothing to move the story forward. Another was that it would have been interesting to have had Matilda and North work together to solve the mystery of who was responsible for the death of her parents. Instead it was just a back-and-forth with who had the cup. There were some good comedic moments involving the rest of our Highland crew which seemed to mostly help North stay focused on his mission. Marcus treated Matilda so badly I could not understand how Amethyst could have fallen in love with him. He's controlling and demeaning and even though he knows how awful Matilda's first marriage was had no problem forcing her into another terrible one. I know it seems like I've done nothing but complain, but I did actually like the book. The final scenes back at Hermitage Castle wrapped up the series perfectly.
