I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book... is simply amazing. I wish I could give it more stars. It's so beautiful, and all the characters are wonderful. This will be a 'must read' of the year.
I had a feeling it would end like one of my favourite movies, but as usual, books always do a better job.
I loved all the connections that Ben and Florence had, and I'm not afraid to say I got a bit teary every now and again. What a memorable story about life and love.

I loved The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston so much. I found myself not wanting it to end ever as I got swept up in the romance and fantasy and the hunky Ben. I cried several times while reading (not usually me) and also laughed lots.

This book is so different as Florence's editor is dead but they start up a romance unintentionally. And it's so cute because I found myself hating their circumstances. While wishing for it to be different and swooning at Ben.

I loved Florence (the main character). I felt that she had so much depth and was quirky. Usually I don't like quirky romance mc's, because they annoy me, but I loved Florence as it suited the story. I also adored Benji and how sweet and romantic and gentlemanly he was

I won't spoil anything but the ending was so surprising, while I kind of guessed it because of what happens throughout the story. I also was so surprised but so happy.

I haven't felt this happy about reading a book/ devastated that it's over since The Love Hypothesis. I will absolutely be putting this on my reread over and over again list.

I would recommend this book to any one who watched and loved Just Like Heaven (2005). Also to anyone who loves swoonworthy romances and forbidden/ star-crossed romance.

Thank you so so much to NetGalley and Harlequin Australia for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I am so happy that you gave me a chance on reviewing this.

The Dead Romantics is a book I might not have looked twice at had I not received an email from the publisher promoting it. That made me continue past the cover to the blurb, and while I don't generally read a lot of rom-com, the fantasy element to this tale piqued my interest, so I decided to give it a try. Overall, it was an pleasant, entertaining read. The premise was engaging and I liked Florence as a character, since she was quirky and fun but still had a lot of emotional depth. The 'twist' in the story I guessed almost at once, so there was no suspense there for me and I already knew how the book would end, but it was still good to see the relationship between Ben and Florence develop in the meantime. There was a nice blend of humour and emotion throughout the story, which was well paced and balanced. I am glad I gave the book a try, as a change from my usual fare, and I am sure it will appeal to rom-com fans who enjoy a bit of fantasy alongside the romance. It gets 4 stars from me.

(As per your preferences, I am holding this review until within 30 days of publication. It will go live on my blog at the link below on 26 July 2022, at which time I will also share on Goodreads and across social media.)
