A cute story about a dog, Benny, who wants to go with his human to school. Unfortunately, he isn't allowed inside, but he ends up having fun on the playground!

This book will delight any child who did not want to leave their best buddy, a dog say, at home when they go to school. Benny REALLY wants to have a day at school but…teachers are not usually in favor of this. How is the situation resolved? Read this delightfully illustrated story to find out. I thought it was very cute and sweet.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for this title. All opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book and so did my 7 year old! The illustrations were fun although I'm not sure why Benny has a mustache lol But a good book all the same. Doesn't really have an underlying lesson to it (not that every kids book has to just wanted to point it out) but I do hope my son doesn't try to bring our dog to school now!

Wanted to update my review after seeing a couple of others: Paraphrasing another reviewer, I noticed someone said the message here is that rules are always important but sometimes we need to bend them a bit to lighten things and I love that! I like this book that much more with that in mind.

This is the first Benny-book we've read with my daughter. She could easily relate to Sam's story even though she is not so much a dog person as a cat lover.

The story is cute: there are rules, but there's also flexibility in them, within certain limits. Having a pet friend is fun but it's also responsibility.

The cheerful illustration brings the story to life and makes it an adorable children's book.

Thank you NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for an Advance Review Copy of the English edition.

Thank you, Clavis Publishing, for the advance reading copy.

I feel like this book has reached me at the right time where I was feeling a bit not okay and was missing my pets.

I love how the author and the artist have put in all their efforts to bring up a story which every pet owner can relate, specially dog owners. But I feel taking matters into our own hands and taking our pets to school is still a thing which I wouldn't suggest.

Love the illustrations. However, I wish the illustrations of the cover to be a better one as I feel the content has much more better artwork.

A cute story and a story that shows how teachers can be understanding at times.

This is a quick, sweet story about a girl and lovable dog. They seem inseparable and she can't resist those puppy dog eyes. Its an easy read with fun, interesting illustrations that I can definitely see younger children being interested in. I would love to share a book like this with my preschoolers and talk about why dogs don't go to school, the emotions that Sam shows throughout the book (and why) and ultimately the compromise they come to at the conclusion of the book.

Very cute drawing and sweet story about a dog loving his owner so much he can’t stay away not for even a day. I love how the teacher didn’t let Sam break the rules!
