Thank you so much to Clavis publishing and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

A young wizard boy paints and creates monsters, that all come alive and each one is unique and different to the others.

I loved all the rhyming in this book it was perfectly done and literally matched the illustrations on the pages. It had such a wonderful array of monsters all so unique and so different.

The illustrations were really imaginative and wonderful to look at with such a vast amount of monsters and creatures being created there was so much to look at on each page and it was so pretty and wacky and creative.

I love how imaginative this book is and how it will open up a child’s imagination to do the same, to create as many monsters as their minds create. Everything about this book was creative and exciting and fun. It’s a great read and I do recommend reading this with your children.

This is a super cute book about a wizard who brings monsters to life with their paintbrush. I love the illustrations of the monsters. I love children's books that rhyme, and this was no exception. It also had some participatory sections that I thought were cute - counting monsters on the page, asking the reader which monster makes them shiver the most, and encouraging readers to draw their own monsters.

I didn’t care for this book as much as I thought I would. It didn’t captivate me and the artwork wasn’t impressing me. The writing fell flat for me; I know this is a children’s book and I’m not expecting Pulitzer Prize material but it was stale. There wasn’t anything exciting. I do think that there will be plenty of children and parents that enjoy this book. It just wasn’t for me.

Great kids book! I read this because I am always looking for new books for my niece.

The illustrations are beautiful!

This is definitely a book I would buy for my niece or any other kid.

My only critique is I think the font could be a bit better, it is kinda difficult to read the words on some pages

Full of unique and imaginative creatures, this book is good pick for any monster loving kiddo. The rhymes flow nicely for read aloud purposes. I will say the last page has a lot of words crammed into it compared to the rest of the book which was an interesting choice.

(It took me a second to notice all the creatures on the wall and that was really cool!)

My son (4yo) and I loved this book. He really liked the illustrations and the different monsters. He would point out all the differences between the pages it would be nice if the layout had worked better with iPhone, but it worked out. He wants the regular book (instead of ebook) so he can draw on that last page!

We read this book in English.

Thank you to NetGalley, Clavis Publishing and Ine de Volder for allowing us to read this advanced eCopy.

I thought the illustrations were great in this book and my 4 year old loves them too, but the story itself was not as entertaining as I had hoped and not one that we will be returning to again and again.

The best children's books are really those that can be read several times, for example several days in a row and still be considered really good.

I still think children will enjoy this story, especially in the age range of 4-6.

This reminded me of the old "Flanimals" books, in that they're wonderfully presented guides to monstrous life that look superb, are fun to read, and probably don't really go far enough story-wise. Here we see the creators' wonderful imagination, which is supposed in fact to come from a kid whose artworks of monsters come alive, and, er, that's it. There is fun to spot the details in the gorgeous wackiness, but if you come here wanting a drama, or even a fictional guide to the critters like said "Flanimals", then you come in vain. The text is just in four-line verses, and despite a stumble or two copes well enough with the task of having to match the originals and the art. Enjoyable? Certainly. Essential? Assuredly not.

A fun way to encourage children to really unlock their imaginary with the plathora of ways monsters can look. The ideas are truly limitless for these artistic wizards. I can definitely see myself using this before an art lesson. Or even a halloween project that would include a paragraph of their monster along with then drawing. Thank you for getting me excited about a lesson

My Book of Monsters is the perfect rhyming picture book! The sing-song story has the ideal rhythm for preschoolers and is sure to bring delight to those young ones.

The illustrations are so adorable and playfully dot each page. The storyline is just as delightful and was a joy to read. I'll need to see where I can preorder this book for my grandsons. Five loveable stars.

I received a digital ARC from Clavis Publishing through NetGalley. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

I want to thank NetGalley for giving me a digital copy of “My Book of Monsters!” to review.

As you and I know, not everything is as it seems. This book follows a little boy who can make monsters come to life through his drawings. You’ll see the monsters and be encouraged to create your own! This book was very cute and creative! I cannot wait to purchase a physical copy for the kids in my life because I know they’ll enjoy it as much as I do.

I appreciated the vocabulary and the rhyme scheme of this book. There were multiple parts that make this the perfect read-aloud including a part where the reader is asked to point things out on the page. The illustrations are very well done, but the words are in a very thin font and they can be hard to read on certain pages.

Overall, I would recommend this to everyone with younger children and I believe it would be a great classroom book. It would be very easy to incorporate this book into a lesson about art or about the power of pictures!

This was such a cute book my 7 year old loved it! I really loved the illustrations as well they are very well done. I might have to get the hard copy of this book so my son can draw a monster at the end and join in on the fun! I've also always been a fan of rhyming children's books, they're just so much easier to read in a fun way before bedtime and in my opinion keeps kids engaged a little more at least at younger ages.

This one is so creepy and cute! I loved the cadence and feel of the text within the picture book. Plus who doesn't love monsters? Especially when the ones we create come magically to life! I loved the illustrations of all the different monsters there could be AND that monsters are just like you and me. They have hobbies, interests, and lives too. The interactive parts of the book were a great addition to get children more invested in the story. I will definitely be looking into purchasing this book for the preschool classroom I work in when it releases.

This is an adorable book that encourages children to use their imaginations to create monsters. This would work well in my first grade classroom for a fun Friday in October…I would love to put up our monsters in a gallery like pictured in the book. Thank you to NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion about the book.
