Ever glamorous Camille Rogers, a survivor of her dark past and the adopted Monégasque diamond heiress finds solace and fortitude through her best childhood friend James Hughes and reinvents herself, becomIng more powerful than ever.
Jet-setting from the sun-kissed playground of the French Riviera, to pulsating Paris, to the global elite including the Hollywood circle, the pair fascinate the aristocratic world. Diamonds are For Cocktails is a captivating story of a lifetime of betrayal and love, the allure of wealth, and a trail of mysterious crimes lured by a notorious ‘FBI Most Wanted’ killer where “Sunset Boulevard” meets “The Other Side of Midnight.” This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work.

The book has a great premise. It takes you for a glamour ride that one can truly enjoy. The story keeps you entertained and does not fall short on its promise. I like how it reads and how the story builds up. It is gripping and full of mysteries. The characters are well-written and held their own. They are a testament to humanity and our behaviors to society whether or not we have too much or too little of everything in life. For what it was worth, I find this book worth the read. If you are looking for a glamorous mystery or thriller, this one is for you.

This book caught my eye, and I was expecting maybe an old-fashioned cosy mystery.

When I read this, I found it wasn't really what I expected. Of course, that doesn't mean that I disliked it.

One thing I would say about this book is that it felt glamorous. I felt there was a flavour of glamour, if that's how I could describe it. The characters were presented in a way that made them appear glamorous.

I found the style of writing enjoyable and pleasant to read. However, I didn't feel any particular connection to any of the characters, and I didn't relate to them or feel that I warmed to any of them. So for that reason, I found myself indifferent to what happened, although I did finish the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a free copy to review.

This was a solid read with all the glamour and glitz that was promised! This is a commentary on the reach and influence of wealth, as well as the malleability of someone's persona when they are afforded great power and privilege. The relationships in the book are well-done, and I loved being whisked across the world and immersed in the lavish nature and seduction of an affluent society. For me, the "I'm wealthy" trope is always a win!

The sentences were sometimes a bit awkward with descriptions that felt a little short and incomplete. I have no doubt that once edited, this will hold great appeal for people who want a side of aristocracy with their thriller/mystery. All in all, this is a very promising book with a fantastic premise. For some reason, I am not finding it on Goodreads, but when it is posted, will happily leave a review there as well!

I love this book! It is one of the better mystery thrillers I’ve read. Its unique premise got me reading right way. It is refreshing and entertaining. A plot that has surprising twists and turns, it can be downright scary at times but good. You have to read the whole thing to get to the heart of the story! Thank you NetGalley!
