Cryptid Club is a creative comics collection that combines mythical legends, pop culture and dark humour. It's a refreshing deviation from the Sarah's Scribbles series, but equally enjoyable and relatable nonetheless as the book depicts situations that all introverts will be familiar with.

While some of the comics had me chuckling, there were also several that fell flat. Still, it was fun seeing creatures who have long been objects of fascination and intrigue (e.g. Slender Man, Mothman, aliens and sirens) as cute characters in very human scenarios. Loved the glossary at the end too!

I have read all of Ms Andersen’s comic books and loved them all except Fangs, including this one! I lol’d on nearly every page! I had to google what a Fresno Nightcrawler was but was familiar with most of the other cryptids.

If you’re a fan of her work or want to laugh or like monsters especially funny monsters then read this book.

Grade a adorable cryptid fun. How do you pick this up and not find joy in its pages? I picked this up at the end of a long, miserable day and it filled my heart for sure. Do yourself a a favor and keep this book on hand when you need a smile from Nessie, a Bigfoot, Slenderman, or even a chupacabra.

In a word: adorable.

This collection of mini comics about cryptids is sweet and darling, and I loved it. A quick, funny red, I loved so many of these comics I want to frame and share almost every page.

I feel like there has been a wave of Cryptid books being published lately, and since I have yet to be disappointed, I hope there are even more to come!
